Finally home. Wake up was ROUGH. he screamed the whole hour drive home 1st thst he couldn't stop the noises because he was crying uncontrollably and 2nd that he didnt like that doctor and he was mean. 3rd because we weren't home yet. I got him a chocolate shake and hes snuggled with nana while I run to the store. I somehow did not think about getting soft things for him to eat. So I'm getting applesauce, pudding and jello.

Hi! Thanks for all the love yesterday for Lucas’s bday! And happy bday to C inthekitty! peachsmama sorry things didn’t go great at the dentist. cagoldi good luck today. Well, I came to the gym planning on getting a good run in, but my headphones are dead and I can’t run without distraction. So I didn’t a quick mile of hills, lifted a little, and am now hiding out in the movie room before I get ry and C. I have an ortho and dr app today and then I have to hit target to get the eat of the stuff for Lucas’s bday party and I need to figure out if I’m doing a cake or cupcakes and order them. No sports tonight thankfully and hopefully dh gets home at a reasonable hour.

Also WWN13 do... so at C’s 9 month app the other day the dr asked me if she’s still waking up to nurse and sort of side eyed me when I said yes. She thinks I need to start sleep training her and I’m not ready. But I’ve also never had this with the boys... she will not and has never taken a bunny so she basically just wakes up to comfort nurse not eat. And I’m so freaking tired I just bring her into bed and pop her on and we both go back so sleep. I don’t even know what I’m asking, so I guess this isn’t really a wwn13 do. I’m just feeling conflicted.... and tired.

xolastunicornxo How many times is she waking? times between waking to comfort nurse? I dont necessarily think it's 'bad' to nurse MOTN but cutting back may be an option, so maybe a dream feed before you go to bed, and then once more at least 3-4 hours later then the other maybe let her fuss for at least 5 minutes, she should settle down by herself. ETA: i nursed both kids MOTN to 12 months like this, dream feed and once more, and had minimal issues with Julia when she weaned at 12 months to going to full nights sleep. B, was a different story but his were falling asleep not, staying asleep.

xolastunicornxo, don't let him make you feel bad. You do what works for you. That being said, if you're exhausted a few days of rough sleep training might be worth it in the long run. If you aren't ready then that's ok too!

@xolastunicorn I don’t think it is weird to nurse at night, i did this until dd was 18mo or so... I suck at sleep training and didn’t start until she was almost two, while I know that that is not the norm by a long shot, we all do what feels right. If you’re okay with night nursing, than who cares?
ETA plus they’re only this small for so little time, I often loved this quiet times just the two of us. But was exhausted too, so I feel you, we’re here if you need to vent!

If I were you, I'd try putting her down awake and let her figure out how to soothe herself to sleep. She may still wake up in the MOTN to nurse if she's hungry, but like vino mentioned, I'd dream feed her before you go to bed and see how long it takes her to wake up again to eat. The first night I did this with M when she was 8.5 months old, she started sleeping through the night. Same with H. ETA: She might start napping better for you, too.

mskatiep flamingo and anyone else who might work for for the government or DOD check out Child Care Aware. We just found out anout it and discovered we get a $200 break from the government for daycare. It's all dependent on salary, cost of living, and daycare cost. Did they open it to DOD? I got burned with this 1.5 years ago because after I'd been using it for a year they came back and said it was only for Dept of Army not DOD. I had to scramble to get Layla care on post because I couldn't afford the daycare she was at without the subsidy. I will check it out and reapply though. All they can do is say no lol. Thanks!

xolastunicornxo I Was still nursing B MON at 9 months, and his pedi told me I had to stop. I chose not to, in my case because we were mostly down to 1 time per night, and then he fell right back asleep. So, for me, it was no big deal to quickly grab him ant nurse him for a bit, if he'd fall back to sleep easily and then I could go back to sleep. I did, however, decide to only nurse 1 time per night and then not again. I started with nursing the first time, he woke up after 4 hours after he went to sleep (so anytime after midnight or so). If it was before then, I would make him try to go back to sleep on his own. However, if my memory serves me correctly, I started pushing that last night feed later and later (ie, I'll only feed him if it's after 12, then only after 1, etc), and by about 11 months he had weened that feeding by himself.

I really like this immunologist. He was very thorough, didn't speak down to me, listened to all of my concerns and was really good with H. He ordered a lot more blood work including an allergy panel. Luckily, H only cried a bit during the 8 minutes it took to get all of the blood. He cried more on the way to the car because he was trying to get the wrap off his arm.
I should hear back from the immunologist next week after he reviews the lab work and we'll go from there. More than likely we'll be getting the prevnar vaccine and then running labs again a month or so later to see how his antibodies react.

Totally random question, I remember someone here (or it might have been on B's BMB that I never joined but lurked when he was a baby) had some system for baby sleep, something like 2-3-3 or 2-2-3 or something where they are supposed to nap at certain intervals of being awake throughout the day? It really helped me get B on a nap schedule when he was young, and my friend is having trouble getting her 2.5 month old on a schedule so I wanted to share that with her. Anyone know what I am talking about??

tgrimes I do need to do that. She rarely will fall asleep without being nursed or at least held. jewels and everyone else, I think I’ll try making sure she’s not nursing again until after 12 and maybe having dh try to get her back to sleep.

Hold please.

Anyone know what I am talking about?? I think you’re talking about the 2-3-4 method. First nap: two hours after they wake up. Second nap: three hours after they wake up from the first nap. Then bedtime: four hours after they wake up from the second nap. I think it’s something that you typically do after the newborn stage is over. I didn’t know about it with Josie, but I remember using it as a loose framework for Charlie

Thank you guster! That is what I was thinking of, I just couldn't remember the intervals. I wonder if he's too young for it. She is struggling and was telling me she thinks she keeps missing his cues and then trying too late when he's already a mess so I was hoping it would help her.
