The Uppababy Vista is going to be our big gear splurge. We tried out a bunch of strollers, and it’s the one that H really likes (I love it too, but didn’t hate some of the others the way he did). We’re hoping to do an FET for kid #2 such that the kids are about 2 years apart, so I love that we can just buy the adapters to turn the Vista into a double. Plus, I did some price comparisons, and it comes with a bunch of things that are all extras on other strollers (like the rain shield) which I think could be really useful.

We completely splurged and bought a Snoo. It was on sale, but still, a lot. DH was determined we need one, I am not as convinced, I am (probably stupidly) nervous it will hurt a feed in demand breastfeeding relationship. I am hoping that when we are done with it we can resell it for a good price. I really want a nice double stroller. We never had a nice stroller with the other 2, but I feel like with 3 it could really come in handy. They just all seem so huge and clunky. I’m excited to hear what you think of the snoo. I really considered it. I am sure if DD2 isn’t a good sleeper I will breakdown and buy it. I picked the baby jogger city select for DD1 because it turned into a double, so I will buy a second seat if it goes well. I’m going to use the infant seat and the seat for a bit. I also bought a Zoe double when they were on sale last month. I absolutely love our Zoe single.

I have had 2 horrible sleepers.

We’re going to a big consignment sale Friday. Beyond the gear we haven’t gotten from our registry (which we’ll be making a list with the prices after the completion discount, so we know what price to beat) any tips on things to watch for?

Ours is next week! The main thing I’ve learned is that you really need to check things over for stains or tears and make sure it works. JBF does try to weed things out, but can’t catch. I always look at the bigger ticket items first because those tend to move quicker than things like clothes or toys.

I don’t want to burn H out, and I have to work Friday afternoon, so we can only be there 9-11am. I suggested we just do Saturday instead, but he pointed out that the good stuff might be gone by then. I think if we prioritize we should be fine, but I don’t know just how crazy it will be!

I haven’t been to the one you are going to so I’m not positive how big it is, but it usually takes me around an hour and a half to go through the one in cos - part of that might also be because it’s kid free time for me 😂

We do still have our CO baby shower coming up, so I’m not looking to get clothes or small things. Mostly the bigger ticket items that I know no one is buying for us!

Anyone have a preference of Medela In Style vs Spectra S2 breast pumps? I loved my Spectra! I ended up exclusively pumping for a year with my first and it held up so well. I did try out my sisters medela a few times and I felt like it wasn't as powerful as my spectra or something. I definitely preferred the spectra for everyday pumping. However I would have loved the medela to use at work, it is tiny and so much easier to transport than the spectra. So I guess it depends on what you plan on using it for mostly.

Anyone have a preference of Medela In Style vs Spectra S2 breast pumps? I EP’d with my PISA for 15 months. I sold the spectra s2 after a few months. I hated it because it did not empty me. Because I didn’t nurse I didn’t care about it feeling like a real baby, I just wanted to be emptied like a cow and move on with my life. I highly recommend Nuk storage bags if you are building a stash.

This is so funny that it’s completely opposite of my experience! I had to use the S2 in letdown mode the entire time and it still left ounces in my breasts.

I think most of the people I've talked to preferred the medela so I'm not sure why the spectra worked so much better for me.

I’ll be pumping at work. And the area I’ll be pumping in is being remodeled this summer, so I’m not sure what our fridge situation will be come fall, but right now there’s just a shared mini fridge. Ideally, I’ll be mostly breastfeeding at home, so pumping just to cover anytime I’m away from baby.

If anyone else was looking at the Uppababy Vista, the price on Amazon dropped this morning. With the completion discount, it was cheaper than any of the prices I’ve been seeing for recent model years on Good Buy Gear (CO consignment website).

I have had 2 horrible sleepers. Butting in from March 2019. We rented a Snoo and have used it for a week. First night in it, twin B woke 1 time to feed and 1 to poop. He's still at one time to feed. Twin A is in the crib, and is waking 2-3x. They are 5 weeks. Prior to ordering it, they were alternating times up, and up for hours. B eats and goes right back down. MIL ordered us another rental that we're waiting on for twin A. Only annoyance is it only came with one sheet, and I have a spitter.

How long do infants stay in the snoo? 6 months?

I'm personally only renting til end of May, since then I'll be off for the summer and can nap during the day if needed.

Any good diaper bag recs? I want it to be either a backpack or dual one that is a backpack and messenger/crossbody. I have a couple from my first but the one I liked most wasn’t a backpack and the other is just a cheap one that I don’t like as much.

They said they still use it sometimes because of all the handy pockets, and their son is 13!

I actually got the biggest bag they have and added the diaper bag insert. I use it for work when I don’t have the kid and just take the insert in and out.

Anyone have an alternative to a changing table? Baby will share a room with DD and I'm not sure if we're going to have room for a changing table. There isn't currently a dresser in there that would work either, but if I could find one small enough that would still fit a changing pad that might work.
Otherwise has anyone seen a changing table that would fit along side the crib vertically, vs. going against the wall horizontally?

We just have 2 of the contoured, padded changing pads (one upstairs, one downstairs), and put one down on the bed or the floor for changes, then put it out of the way the rest of the time.

DS2 needs to be woken up for feeding, because he will sleep too long in the Snoo. He will start fussing, and the Snoo will change to a vacuum/hair dryer sound, and rock a bit more, and he will be back out immediately. Then it will slow down, and go back to the quieter sound. I am still not comfortable letting him go too long (plus my boobs start hurting), so I wake him up, but I am sure in the coming months I will appreciate it even more.

bearfootzcontinued +1 to courtniko . We used a contoured pad like that for DD. We just cleared off a shelf in the wardrobe and used it for changes. This time I'll just use the bed, couch, floor etc. We also have limited space and DD, baby and I are all sharing a room. We have a change table in here but it is currently being used as a bookshelf...so I'll likely leave well enough alone.
