Let's say that someone was tied up to that kitchen chair. Why do that? If you come to just take the girl, kill both parents as quickly as possible and leave.
The internet is saying the mom barricaded herself in the bathroom. If you kicked down the exterior door, shouldn't the bathroom one be even easier to break through?

Tlex I saw the ATV theory too. But apparently people use trail cams around this time of year? So the internet strangers are telling me that something would have been recorded. The door thing is strange. Has it been clarified if door was kicked in, shot in, etc.? I just wonder if it was a rage thing or a means to entrance? I also can’t understand if they had such a beef with someone why no one has any knowledge of it. Yeah I mean I do not hunt but really is the whole forest on cam at all times? I thought trail cams pointed towards kind of specific areas that would attract the desired prey. I have no idea. It’s not confirmed how the door was broken into, they are purposely with holding that I think. Basically they have just confirmed that it was forcibly entered and people said you can see splintering of the door frame in the video of them bringing evidence out to the vans. To counter my own points, someone on either reddit or websleuths claims that kicking doors in is a really common robbery method. I was kind of “.......?” About that. Not sure how to go about verifying that. So if that’s true it’s a point in your arguments favour for sure. To *me* it seems like if you were gonna rob a place and we’re kicking the door in and were met with the homeowner, you might run off thinking they’d have the cops on the line? But someone in a rage would be raging. Re: their beef, no idea, it’s so strange that for a small town there are no rumours churning really. How squeaky clean can any family be?! If there are trails through the woods the deer will follow that path so it is likely for there to be multiple cams along a path like that. Also, that is where the hunter is going to be able to get a clear shot so it’s where they want to watch. Most hunters are of the mindset get in and get out quickly. They study the cams and some even go as far as to track temps and moon phases to see when they can expect the deer to cross that particular spot so they know when to go in and get set up. H aims to spend no more than 3 hours in the stand. I also know many who use them as almost a security camera of sorts. They use them to catch people trespassing on their hunting grounds. Hunting is srs business in small towns like this. For many this is how they get their meat for the year.

Maybe the girl pissed off the wrong person? Tied her to the chair while they killed her parents? Shot dad. Mom went to the bathroom. They got the girl tied up and busted into the bathroom. Found that the mom has called 911 so they killed her, grabbed the girl, and ran. Maybe they had more of a draw out process in mind for her?

Some people even spend $$$$$ on cams that have cellular service on them and they take pics and send them to your phone with all sorts of time and weather condition info.

I remember being in the aol chatrooms and being all oh I would totally go but my mom won’t let me out of her sight while having zero intentions of meeting these people that I assumed were in actuality 50 year old pedophiles. But I was hungry for attention and liked feeling like someone liked me. I guess now that I’m thinking about it I’ve always been a bit of a lead on. 🤷🏼♀️

I'm surprised this hasn't been thrown out yet, but maybe they came to rob, didn't find anything so took the girl to sell as a sex slave? Or to keep as a sex worker?

So the "random" case here a couple months back they shared very, very little when they in fact had some idea, and quickly knew who and why. Until all those people were arrested, it seemed like they had next to nothing because they didn't want to show their hand and tip them off. It was far from random. This has drug on a little bit longer, but not a whole lot longer. Maybe this is an instance where they truly have no idea. That's not always the case even when that is what they are saying to the media.

If they're expanding ground search I'm wondering if there's reason to believe Jayme was injured and took off on foot. Even if she had a cell phone with her the cell service isn't great up there, especially if she took off into the woods. The robbers may have fired a shot at her, then fled.

Sex trafficking isn't (typically) something people get involved in on a whim because they didn't find items of value in a robbery.

This is also why I have a hard time believing the ATV thing. It would be significantly harder to kidnap someone on an atv because you can't lock them in. The chances of her bailing and running into the dark woods and hiding would've been way way higher than in a car.

I go back and forth on this though. Sadly there are a lot easier ways to get children off the streets that wouldn't start a police manhunt/investigation immediately like this.

Sadly there are a lot easier ways to get children off the streets that wouldn't start a police manhunt/investigation immediately like this. There are no cases, ever, of a home invasion for the purposes of abducting someone for sex trafficking. It’s what people immediately jump to when a white girl goes missing but this is not at all how sex trafficking works. So could this be the first, sure, but it’s pretty much a no on that being anything to do with the motive. Generally sex traffickers use grooming and luring and their victims leave willingly with them. They tend to target kids in much less secure family situations than Jayme.

Yeah, Jayme seems like such a low risk target for trafficking. She was close with her mom and active in her social circles.

people are gathering for the search. I hope they find some sort of clue. ![](http://stmedia.stimg.co/XJW36558.JPG?crop=faces&fit=crop&ixjsv=2.2.3&w=640) I feel like they must've gotten some new information because the sheriff had said no more searching unless new info comes in. And then all the sudden a 2000 person search? He wouldn't comment on what triggered the search.

Wow @ that uncle’s car though. Like wow. The paint job, the orangey-red. There’s no way people in town don’t know all about that car if it’s roadworthy right?

That's a powerful image, CestLaVie. It reminds me of the people lined up with boats to rescue people after Hurricane Harvey.

Prevents things from being planted and keeps people from overlooking things trying to look for something that "fits" what the sheriff has.

It's amazing that so many people are on call to help in whatever way they can.
I want to say I'd be in that line, but selfishly I would be considering the possibility of finding a body and whether I'd be able to handle it. I don't feel great about thinking that, but it's the truth. (I still think I'd do it. I hate feeling helpless)

Tlex I'd say 50/50. If his wife doesn't love driving he may just park like that to make it easier for her to back out. But the large vehicle is the crime scene one so it does leave way more room than necessary for that. Like he could've parked and entire truck length forward and she could still make a full turn to drive out forward. Hard to tell.

I'm looking at the google satellite of their home (from 2018, so recent) and mom parked just like that, but I can't tell if dad's truck is there or not. It's not parked next to mom's car, but the tree coverage makes it hard to see the whole driveway.

Hard to tell on my phone, but what is the big white vehicle? If its a boat, then I don't think his parking there is strange. Looks like there is something close to the driveway across from the white thing. Especially if it's dark, he may not want to hit either thing.
