I’m currently sitting in line for emissions testing. Failure in communication between hubs and I resulted in me having to wait. There’s like 8 cars ahead of me. There’s also 3 bays but only 1 is open. 👍 way to go gov workers. 😡 I also somehow caught a cold from DS who had it last week then he gave it to lil fella now it’s my turn Bleh! They recovered within days so hoping for the same outcome. However I doubt it, us adults seems to get sick much worse than kids le sigh 😔 ETA it’s also snowing and 0 degrees and we still Have summer tires on. It’s a little early for snow. Caught off guard OMG WHERE ARE YOU THAT IT'S SNOWING ALREADY??!!?? |

Actually it's pretty chilly here today too. We had the AC on yesterday, almost had to turn the heat on today 😕
It's going to be cool and I think sunny in the afternoon tomorrow though so I guess it's time to finally bust out my fall stuff.

My baby is 1 today! He celebrated it by waking up at 4:30. I nursed him and put him back down, he cried on an off from 5-5:30 when I got him and brought him in my bed. He did sleep there until I had to get up but now I am majorly tired and to top it all off, we are all super sick and had to reschedule his birthday party from tomorrow to next week ☹️ DH had the hot/cold shakes yesterday, I woke up today feeling super nauseous and with a pounding headache. Around 2pm I started to feel better other than being tired. At 3pm Dh calls me to tell me that DD was puking. She has since puked numerous more times and was already asleep at 6:15. We pretty much never get sick so this is all unfamiliar territory for us, DD is sleeping on an air mattress on our floor just in case 🤷♀️ Happy birthday to baby! But sorry you guys are sick. No fun there. I hope it passes quickly. |

thechickencoop Awwww!!! He looks so happy in the swing! The pic doesn’t look blurry to me 🤷♀️ doodlemommy Happy Birthday to your LO! Sorry about the sickness though. I hope everyone is on the mend soon! I am also clueless about puking sickness with kids. DS1 has only done it once....that time it was in his bed, and I just remember myself going, “ewwww...this is so gross!” while I was cleaning it up. August Blooms I have the same mom guilt feelings about breastfeeding. LO is one tomorrow, and I know i’ve met my goal and it’s fine to wean....but I still have feelings about it.

I made apple cider donuts this morning and they were good but I don’t taste any apple or cider. 🤷🏻♀️ H and I are doing chores and baby is already down for a nap and then I hope to take DS to the park. He’s complaining he’s bored. Kid needs to learn how to entertain himself.

DD has been puke free since 10 pm and managed to eat some plain dry Cheerios and keep it down so I hope she’s good now! She has only puked once before and it was from coughing so hard so we were totally scrambling and didn’t know what to do haha

Sitting at a baby shower for a colleague due with twins. Trying to convince my table of older teacher friends the nose frida is superior to the hospital nasal bulb. Granted, at 1-2 months old I liked the blue hospital one too but by 3 months and larger, I don’t think the nose frida can be beat. 😂
My gift was a bunch of stuff you can use when babies are sick - nose frida, gas drops, boogie wipes, etc. Not the most uplifting of gifts but super practical at 3:00am. This gift may or may not have been inspired from dd2’s first year of life 😑

This is what I miss most about the NE. The astounding apple varieties I could get at the green market was fresh and gorgeous and I always looked forward every Wednesday to dash out during lunch to get my produce for the week and get a half dozen apple cider donuts for my team. |

We finally had lil fella's party today! DS was soooo excited! His best friend from school came and he was jumping for joy - like literally bouncing! I almost got everything on the table - I totally forgot to put out the cornichons for the cheese plate and I didn't have time to make caramel for an apple plate which I added last minute but that's alright, the table was pretty full with the other stuff and 2 cakes lol!
It would've been a great day but my dad unfortunately threw a tantrum this morning and has refused to come out of his room - he's refusing to eat or drink anything and said he wants to go home. He did this with my sister a number of years ago when they were living with her. He threw a tantrum but not to this extreme at when we had DS' 2nd birthday party too. I am so over being embarrassed by him. My dad exhibits a number of patterns and behaviors associated with narcissistic disorder. It's hard to tell him anything, he just blows up. Its just so hard. I don't know what to do. He refuses to speak to me or my mom. I am worried he is going to get dehydrated. I am mad too because he can be so selfish.

duskymonkey Like was for the party sounding fun and delicious, but I’m so sorry about your dad!!! I know people like that, and I think sometimes the only approach is to let them cool down and come out of it on their own. I hear you on worrying about dehydration, but if you leave a cup of water nearby, I think that’s about the best you can do. Sorry again- what horrible timing. I hope he apologizes to you all eventually. Hugs.

Today is LO’s first birthday! We are going to do a big cake and little mini celebration tomorrow, so his nanny can be there to participate. She’s off today and she loves him so much, I wanted to make sure she could see him go at his cupcake (and for her to be able to enjoy some cake too!)
Crazy how fast a year goes....this time last year we were riding to the hospital in a jacked-up pickup truck due to the high flood waters and not being able to get there in our own SUV....thanks to a 30 year historic rainfall the night before. Ah....memories...

DS just handed me a drawing he did of a tower and then told me to build it for him with his magnatiles while he sits on the porch with a snack. Practicing architect I guess. 😆

We go to the early (8am) service at church so it doesn't jack up LO's nap. The joke was on us today, he straight up refused to sleep this morning. 🤞 for a long double nap afternoon. I'd love to nap too, but I have a lot to do and don't always feel rested after a nap, just more tired.
I made pulled pork in my Instant Pot for lunch and it was mmm mmm good. Gonna put some chili on for supper on this dreary, chilly, fall day.

We had the Bday photos this morning. M was a little unsure at first but had a lot of fun I think! She didn't like the cake so there's that. We are currently napping in our bed. Oh I think tooth #5 is coming through.
We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday with her new shoes! So cute. I'll post a picture on Wednesday.

We also did birthday pictures today! E was not down with the whole experience, but was really down for lunch which I should have known. She didnt' smash her cake and the bit she did put in her mouth she made the worst face to. I'm laughing but dying a little inside because I spent so much time trying to find a cake she would like. Whelp - I jinxed myself when I wrote that DS1 has only thrown up food one time in his life. He doubled that number this morning by puking twice at the breakfast table 😩. I am taking off to stay with him while H goes to our parent teacher conference by himself. Ughhhhhhh. Please let there be no more puke and I hope LO doesn’t catch it! That would be an unhappy birthday present for him.
