DH’s uncle died last night. He’s very close to his extended family, so he’s having a hard time. He started talking about wanting to fly out for the funeral, but with PIO shots and time off work (especially since we already have tickets out for Thanksgiving) I don’t know if we can make it work. I felt so bad saying that, since I know he just wants to rush out to be with his family. I am so sorry for your husbands, and your loss. Living far from family makes thing like that even harder.

bonzo, I'm so sorry for your H's loss and that he can't be there. We live far from family too and it really can be so so hard at times.

bonzo How is your H doing? I'm so sorry for your family's loss. We lost my FIL shortly before we got pregnant with DD. DD's name is the feminine version of FIL's name. It was our way of making sure she had a piece of him even though she never knew him.

Thanks. It is hard being away from family in situations like this. I'm so sorry. All of my family is in SC and I'm in MI so I understand the struggle of distance and wanting to be there.

sammysam, he’s been able to process more after talking to his mom. We were getting text updates throughout the day on Tuesday, but being able to have an actual phone call helped a lot. His mom did tell him not to worry about coming out, since his aunt and cousins decided not to do the memorial and funeral right away. I think we’re sending over an Edible Arrangement today, and then we’ll be able to figure out the memorial and funeral once those are planned. Thanks for all the kind thoughts everyone! This was both expected and a shock. The uncle has gone through so many health problems over the years, and always beat the odds. He was a fighter to the very end.

bonzo I'm so glad he was able to connect with family. And hearing someone actually tell him he didn't need to be there right away must have made a huge difference. I hope you are able to figure out something for the memorial/funeral. Thinking of you guys.

Just gonna throw this out there-
Does anyone want my two boxes of ginger tea, Ginger lozenges (tummy drops) and sea bands? I’ve got a major aversion to ginger and the sea bands didn’t seem to work for me but I know they have worked for others. Willing to ship if anyone wants to try them- hate it to go to waste. Send me a PM.

elephantastic I would have taken you up on this but the only ginger I can handle during pregnancy is actual ginger root that I put in boiling water and sip on throughout the day. For some reason all other forms of ginger kill be during pregnancy:/

I was just on my health portal for my OB's office. Under "Problems" it lists "Pregnancy" and has an "onset" date. I find it funny that they did not set it up for better wording.

I feel weird this week. Like doom and gloom but also hopeful at the same time. I need to make it through the next 7 weeks and maybe I can breathe a little bit.

courtniko That made me laugh:) I love the "onset" date. I'm still chuckling about it:) lolacachia This is me too. I don't know how I'm going to make it to the first ultrasound. But we can buoy eachother up here! I feel confident that things are going to go perfectly for both of us and end in babies at the end:) No doom and gloom. Today we are pregnant. And hopeful!

Aparently throwing up after taking a shower is a thing now. The heat of the shower makes me nauseous. This didn't start with DD until around 10 weeks...at which point I had to start taking cool showers. I'm feeling like dirt today but loving it!!! I am looking forward to all the early symptoms and constant sickness. Every day of this is so so appreciated!

I had my first appointment this morning and made sure it was with the doctor who has been with me for all of my pregnancies. Which I'm so glad of now because I had a melt down as soon as I got there. Anyways, she is going to schedule the first US between 8 and 9 weeks and request that they start immediately with transvaginal to try to lower my stress level. I'm pretty happy with this plan.
I'm going to keep my RE appointment for now and just see if I can have them push it until after the first ultrasound. That way if the news isn't good I won't have to wait months for an appointment and my doctor said if this ends up as another loss then they would want me to be seen by the specialist anyways for further testing.
Got all my blood tests done this morning as well.
So we have a plan. I'm just waiting on the US date and the results of the blood work at this point.

First US scheduled for November 29th (I'll be 9 weeks...well 9+2). My doc talked to the US tech and was told it is standard practice for them to do both external and then internal. So at least I get to be blissfully ignorant until then and won't be freaking out on the table when they make me do the transvaginal!

Last night I got a little teary eyed while holding my nephew and then I had a hot flash. My friend told me I was a hot mess and might want to ask the doctor if I'm starting early menopause.
I guess when you're 38 people assume that you're going through the change vs. that you might be knocked up?

A colleague at work just got married a year ago and people are putting money on when she's going to have a baby. I'm 39 and I keep getting the "you're so smart to have decided to just have the one child" comments. Apparently at my age I'm supposed to be done having kids;)

I still can't see my hcg results BUT I just got a voice message from my doctor saying all of my blood test results are "very encouraging". So I'll take it!

sammysam, that’s a great number! Are you doing a repeat beta, or is this it?

sammysam, that’s a great number! Are you doing a repeat beta, or is this it? I'm not doing a repeat because in my case it doesn't tell us anything. My numbers always have great doubling times even with both of my losses. They just wanted to have it as a baseline in case something happens down the road so that there is at least some sort of point of comparison. I know one single draw on its own means nothing but the fact that it's so much higher than the same dpo from June has at least given me some hope:) ETA my doctors seem happier with this number too...which has me feeling a bit calmer.
