Hi Ladies! This check is for those of us who have unfortunately experienced a loss.
I'm, personally, used to TW-ing everything in the TTCAL threads, but I'm thinking that we probably don't need to TW here (loss details & LC - obviously not pregnancy). Let me know if you agree.
So I'm new here! Tell me how far along you are? Any milestones coming up or that you just passed? General feels? Also if you would like to share your history feel free to do so.

I am 9w3d today and today is the very day that our last angels heart stopped beating. I have all the feels today. I have another check up with my gp on Wednesday and I am just praying she can pick up a heartbeat with the Doppler. If not I might just beg for another ultrasound just to ease my mind.

My loss was a MMC this past March and was discovered at my first/8 week OB appointment. The baby measured only 6 weeks but had a light flutter of a heartbeat. We were in limbo for a week and the next scan showed no growth and no heartbeat. Today I am 4w2d. Still so early, which is nerve wracking The only milestone I have to pass this pregnancy will be that first appointment, which I'm already nervous for. I think I am also going to request a scan at 10 weeks if for no other reason than to ease my mind. My OB is super awesome and told me at my D&C follow up appointment that next pregnancy she would not mind having me in for an extra scan or two in the first trimester if it would help ease my mind. So I'm definitely going to take her up on that offer!

maddisonrose big hugs today. With DD my OB didn't use a doppler until 14 weeks, but I'm not sure it that is normal or if it's normal to use them earlier. If it's too early to pick it up on the doppler at your appointment, I would definitely push for a quick scan.

Thanks for starting this smores! I had an early loss last January, and it was my only time being pregnant. We just did IVF and I am now 5 weeks and 1 day. I can't stop POAS (which I know is crazy to do now at over 5 weeks, but I can't stop!) and I also can't stop obsessing over my symptoms, or lack thereof. I am trying to keep the "Today, I am pregnant and I love my baby" mantra in my head, but I don't think this will start to feel "real" to me until our first ultrasound (next Friday).

Thanks for starting this smores,! I agree that no TW is needed, it just needs to be known that there will be TW's all over the place. My history - I had a blighted ovum in January 2013 that was discovered at my 8 week appointment and had a D&C a week later. I had a successful pregnancy with DD who was born July 2015. I got pregnant again the summer of 2016 and I had some concerns from the start. My HCG didn't double in 48 hours - it was close but in the early 50ish range. My doctor wasn't worried. We had an ultrasound around 7ish weeks and it was measuring 5 days smaller with a pretty low heartrate. Again, my doctor wasn't concerned but I googled the shit out of everything and found out the heartrate was on the low end. I started spotting at 9 weeks and went to the ER and the bleeding picked up. I naturally miscarried over about a week at home. This pregnancy - I'm 11w6d today. We used Femara for 3 cycles with dosing increasing each month. We were planning to continue Femara and do IUS in month 4 but got pregnant. I've been all over the place emotionally. Everything has been fine - HCG levels doubling properly, the 6 and 8w ultrasounds and heartrates were normal and we heard the baby's heartbeat on the Doppler at my appointment last week. I feel like the week leading up to an appointment is when I start to let PGAL brain get the best of me. When I was pregnant with DD I relaxed when we heard a heartbeat but after my last miscarriage I know that things can go downhill after that so I am more on edge. I think if my appointment on Monday goes well, I will finally tell work.

Hi ladies. I'm about 5 weeks along, but it was my first cycle off birth control pills so I think the dating might be a little weird. I have my first ultrasound on July 6th. Both my losses were early (the second one was a CP). So I'm just peeing on sticks and symptom spotting at the moment. My DS just turned one, so he keeps me busy and distracted. This pregnancy was a huge surprise for us because it took us a year of trying with two losses and Femara to take home our rainbow. We weren't even really trying in May, just NTNP. I'd love this to be my second and final successful pregnancy, but we are also being cautious with our emotions. DH and I find ourselves saying things like "if we have a baby in February" as if we are going to jinx it or something. On a lighter note... I'm concerned this is going to be a boy because DH and I had the WORST time naming DS. I can't imagine how we would agree on another one. Girls names would be easy, though!

History - early mc before 5w in between my boys. MMC discovered at my 9w appt in March. Baby stopped growing at 6w and visibly appeared to be an abnormal pregnancy though we did not get testing. I had 2 rounds of cytotec that did nothing and then a D&C 1.5 weeks later. How far now? 8 weeks today! Past my milestone of that first ultrasound which as smores said is a huge step. I want this for you too smores! I know I'm not totally in the clear yet but I feel very pregnant. Learning I had an mc was hard but I went through some rough hormonal swings post D&C until I ovulated that were very hard on me. Appointments coming up: Wednesday morning first MW appt and another quick u/s. maddisonrose thinking about you today. Hugs.

Thanks for getting this going!
My history... got pregnant with DD1 three weeks after we started trying with seriously no knowledge of how that shit really worked. Oh to be 23 and naieve again. DD2 took 8 months, but normal easy pregnancy (well I had gestational hypertension with all three successful pregnancies = early inductions, but no biggie). Between DD2 & 3 had a chemical at 5W2D.
Our 4th baby girl appeared to be growing perfectly. HCG was great, good heart beat at 6 week ultrasound, strong heart beat on the Doppler at 11 weeks. Genetically normal according to the early genetic testing. Then in January at 12 weeks her heart just stopped. I had a D&C a few days later.
Currently I'm 9W1D. Everything has looked great and I found the heart beat on the Doppler yesterday morning. But I know that all can pretty much mean nothing. Hoping this is our rainbow, as I'm pretty sure we wouldn't try again. I desperately want to bring home the last piece to our family puzzle.
I have an appointment in a week, then she said I could come in as often as I needed until I could feel movement. But with my own Doppler as long as I can find the heartbeat I think I'll be ok. I'm on a daily baby asprin this time around too. Don't know if it'll help but we're trying.

Hi ladies! I am almost 7w today! This will actually be my second milestone, sort of...for my last 2 losses, I never got to see the heartbeat on an u/s, so we got that one out of the way. With my most recent loss (end of March), I started bleeding at 7w0d, so I'm pretty sure that is tomorrow for me. I need to double check on my app.
I'm mostly just feeling sick. I actually do feel like this is going to work this time though. I don't know why, and I know it might not, but I am feeling good vibes.
My next appt is next Wednesday, still with the RE. I tried to make an appt with my local OB, but I'm thinking I will switch offices. The receptionist didn't really know what she was doing (she asked "well, when do YOU want the appt to be?" and I wasn't being difficult or anything, she just said that when I told her I was getting early monitoring from the RE) plus they don't do all their imaging on site. Oh and their nurses suck at blood draws. I'm pretty much talking myself out of going there, right? The other OB office is the one I used for DS, but their office management went to shit right after he was born and I got pissed and switched. I have heard from my friends that my old OB is back on track and things are running more smoothly, so I guess I'll give them another try.

Thank you for starting this smores! My history... This is my 3rd pregnancy. I had a mmc during my first pregnancy at 9 weeks days before my first appointment was scheduled. Ultrasound showed a gestational sack measuring 6 w 3d, no fetal pole. I ended up in the ER due to severe pain but with assistance from the doctor mc happened naturally, no D&C. DS seemed to take forever to conceive (about 1.5 years after our loss). I'm currently 11w 4d so I have passed that loss milestone and have seen baby on ultrasound twice (including this morning). I posted in randoms yesterday that I had some cramping and tightening yesterday so I got nervous but all is well.

sarahh GL at your appointment on Monday! I'll be thinking of you snowyowl I keep saying the same exact thing. Everything in my mind right now is *if* we have the baby in February. I hate that I do that and I'm trying to adjust my thinking to be more positive, but I don't think I'll really feel confident until 1st tri is over. And if I'm honest I feel I'll have PGAL brain at every appointment the entire time, even though my loss was pretty early. rebeccabunch I am so, so happy that your first ultrasound went well! I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday ajetter that's awesome you were able to pick up the heartbeat on the doppler! easternshoregirl I thinking having an OB that you really like and trust is so important. If you got a bad vibe from the local place then I would try the other one first! jessijean Glad to hear your ultrasound today went well! That is great news

Thanks for starting this smores! My history: It took about 9 or 10 months to conceive DS in 2012, with the help of metformin for the last 5 or so months. We started trying for a second in Jan 2015, and found out I am hypothyroid. In April 2016 we started the metformin again for my PCOS. In those 16 months I had only had 5 cycles. We didn't get pregnant until March 2017, which ended in a cp / early miscarriage. We were told to wait 6 weeks, which we did. But with my crazy long cycles, I didn't actually have a period between the MC and conceiving this time in may - on my 7th wedding anniversary to boot I'm nervous because I don't tend to have really obvious symptoms like nausea or vomiting. My boobs have been really full feeling and I can smell everything, which I had with DS too.

This is pregnancy #3. With my first in spring 2014 I started bleeding at 8 weeks the holiday weekend before my first appointment. Ultrasound only measured 6 weeks (and I was temping so I know my dates we're right) and the heart rate was slow 60ish. The next week it was confirmed there was no heartbeat so I had a d&c. After 6 months of ttcal I saw an RE since I'm old. During testing cycle I conceived DS with estrogen and progesterone support. He was born August 2015. I am now 11 weeks. We passed our loss milestone when I had a good ultrasound at 8.5 weeks but I'm really nervous about my genetic testing since I will be 40 very soon (days). I'm hoping for results tomorrow!

Measuring 8w2d but they're keeping my original edd and just saying 8w4d and edd jan 25. Friday and today were basically my milestones. I've had 4 mmc where a heartbeat was seen at 6 weeks and gone by 8. I have a 2.5 yo son - I bled through his pregnancy and had pprom and delivered via emergency c-section at 31 weeks. As of today, the baby looks perfect! This is my sixth pg and first with NO bleeding! I recently had septum resection and dr says there's no sign of any abnormality. Still considered high risk but I'm feeling pretty good about things so far

I had a bit of brown spotting this morning...I know this can be normal but of course it is a little upsetting. I don't think it is continuing, it seems to have just been over night. With my other losses, the bleeding was red right away, so that offers a bit of comfort.

With my other losses, the bleeding was red right away, so that offers a bit of comfort. I spotted just about every day from 4 weeks to 9 1/2 weeks. Sometimes brown, sometimes pink and occasional red. It's so upsetting but my dr assured me it's normal to spot and cramp up to 14 weeks. I will be 11 weeks tomorrow and at my last dr appointment this little baby had a heartbeat of 153 (I think that was the number.) Stay positive. It's so hard to do when you at spotting but I hope you can relax.

There are so many of us here... Hugs to everyone!
My history: Anovulatory PCOS and this is our third pregnancy. The first was a chemical/loss at 5 weeks after a CD21 ovulation and low progesterone. Our second loss was Ava Grace, born into Heaven at 32 weeks following an induction. She had a host of congenital birth defects and had started to go into heart failure. We induced to try to get a few minutes with her but her beautiful heart stopped beating sometime between 1:30 am and 5:10 am when she was born.
I called our MFM last week after seeing the heartbeat for this little bean. She was amazing during our journey with Ava and I'm so glad she will be involved in our care this time around too. We are going to do a nuchal scan around 12 weeks and then a follow up appointment with her every 4 weeks. Having a game plan in place makes me a feel a lot better, I was concerned (terrified really) that I wouldn't see her until our 18-20 week level II anatomy scan. That is when we found out Ava was sick.
I'm just trying to take things day by day because we have a long way to go until I feel like we are "in the clear" with what happened with Ava. All of the genetic testing we did points to Ava being a genetic fluke and the odds are so very small of that happening again, but still I can't help but worry.

7 weeks today. First appt next Wed the 28th. I'm definitely a head case this time around, always analyzing my symptoms and sometimes lack of.
With DS we got pregnant right away, born May 2015. Spring 2016 we had an oops, I went in for my first appt at 10 weeks and we discovered the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks. Miscarried at 11 weeks and ended up in the ER due to extreme bleeding and had an emergency D&C.

easternshoregirl I'm glad that the spotting stopped! I know that spotting can be perfectly normal throughout first tri so try not to worry too much (I know... easier said than done). I am always a big advocate of calling your doctor/OB if you have a concern, even if it feels like something small. That's what they are there for and sometimes hearing it from a professional can go a long way to ease your mind. aprilz81 Having a doctor you really trust is such a comfort. I'm glad you and your MFM were able to come up with a good game plan that you are happy with.

I agree with not having to use *TW* here! I explained a bit of my history in my intro, but my 6 year old, 4 year old, and almost two year old were all conceived within a month or two of trying. Something I certainly took for granted, after watching several of my friends struggle with IF. It took us about 7 months to get pregnant the 4th time, but we conceived in January '17 with an EDD of Oct 9th. Fatigue and nausea hit pretty good with that pregnancy, and we had a good u/s with a strong HB at 8w4d. At 11w5d I began spotting, found out there was no HB and babe had stopped growing at 9w6d. I had a D&C after failed cytotec at 12w. We waited for one normal period and surprisingly got pregnant right after that. Based on that one period I had, I should have been 8w today. I had my first appt today and measured 7w2d. HB was good at 144, but I will go back in two weeks to check for growth based on the 5 day discrepancy. This could go either way. I have felt a lack of symptoms this time, which I know in my head can be totally normal, but it still messes with me a little.
So a milestone was seeing a HB today and confirming that I am in fact pregnant! My husband reminds me of the need to stay positive, but I tend to "protect" myself by not getting my hopes up too much!
Whew, I guess I tend to be long winded here. Kind of therapeutic to get it out!

I had a Dr appointment today, and it kind of took the wind out of my sails.
It wasn't my regular Dr, but it was the same practice, so he had my whole file and he was the one to review my second beta on the 13th. When I saw him to day he said that my betas were too low for when I "think" I ovulated. He was supposed to check all of that on the 13th, but apparently he didn't. So now I had to do another beta, and I'm waiting to hear when / if they will do a dating ultrasound. (Where I live the Dr requests it, and then the hospital people decide if / when you can get in)
Everything that I looked at had my beta levels are just below normal, so I hope it's all good, but I'm having a hard time being optimistic.

For ref: 17dpo=141 22dpo=535 It isn't the number so much as the doubling rate. There are some online calculators where you can type in the date and time you had the beta drawn and the results. It will tell you the doubling rate. In the first few weeks of pregnancy Hcg should double about every 48 hours (some are a little less and some a little more). I just ran your numbers in one and it doubled at a rate of 62.38 hours. At this stage of pregnancy it should double every 48-72 hours so you are still within the "normal" curve. Here is the one I used, but there are others out there. www.babymed.com/tools/hcg-calculator
