I had a Dr appointment today, and it kind of took the wind out of my sails. It wasn't my regular Dr, but it was the same practice, so he had my whole file and he was the one to review my second beta on the 13th. When I saw him to day he said that my betas were too low for when I "think" I ovulated. He was supposed to check all of that on the 13th, but apparently he didn't. So now I had to do another beta, and I'm waiting to hear when / if they will do a dating ultrasound. (Where I live the Dr requests it, and then the hospital people decide if / when you can get in) Everything that I looked at had my beta levels are just below normal, so I hope it's all good, but I'm having a hard time being optimistic. For ref: 17dpo=141 22dpo=535 It isn't the number so much as the doubling rate. There are some online calculators where you can type in the date and time you had the beta drawn and the results. It will tell you the doubling rate. In the first few weeks of pregnancy Hcg should double about every 48 hours (some are a little less and some a little more). When I calculated it, I got a doubling time of just under 54 hrs. I wasn't expecting him to have an issue with the results. But now I'm not having nearly as much fun shopping as I would've before.

It can take up to 72 hours to double with a healthy pregnancy. Try to hang in there, but I know that is easier said than done.

sparky85 I had betas drawn in my 5th week (day 2 and 4) and my numbers did not double in 48. i was in a tizzy and some of the moms on my Oct17 BMB sent me a ton of great links. I'll try to copy and paste for you. Anyway, my Practice wanted a rise of 60% in 48 hours at that point. I don't know how far along you were/are but wanted to provide a positive anecdote. I'll try to figure out how to copy and paste. ETA I couldn't figure out how to copy and paste the links so I just tagged you in that thread. It's an old thread.

courtsport I'll be thinking of you and sending good thoughts that your next appointment has a very happy update! sparky85 Although I'm no expert, I agree with aprilz81 & rebeccabunch, those betas seem well within a normal range. My OB has also told me that the actual numbers don't matter much as long as they are doubling (or in the range). I know easier said than done, but try not to worry!

Thanks smores I'm trying to focus on what I do know. Which is my other betas were good, and there is nothing I can change. I just need to be patient for my results, which should be back tomorrow morning. Sent from my STV100-3 using Tapatalk

My betas came back at 4528 (~30dpo). The Dr is happy with the results, so now we wait for the ultrasound people to get me in for a dating ultrasound.

Hi ladies! Finally getting a chance to post here.
Loss history: DH and I conceived our first baby (Sprout) shortly after we got married (quite possibly our wedding night) in May 2014. I started spotting at 7 weeks and was in limbo for a week, and confirmed a blighted ovum at 8 weeks. My body was already doing things, so we let that just continue with no D&C. We took a break for a few cycles, and got another BFP in October 2014 (Nugget), and I miscarried naturally at 5 1/2 weeks. At that point, we decided to bench ourselves while we did some RPL testing, and got the all clear to start trying in January.
We conceived DS in June 2015, and he's 15 months old. I was on progesterone through the first trimester.
I'm still very on edge and nervous about this pregnancy. The unexpected discrepancy with the ultrasound at what should have been 7 weeks according to LMP has really thrown me. I'm on progesterone again, and nausea is making life difficult, but I know that being on the progesterone can result in MMC. So, I'm hoping and praying that this little one is doing well.
