We have a wedding today, so I'm leaving work a little early and squeezing in a haircut beforehand. It's a no kids wedding, so my mom is coming over to watch the kids while we're gone.

I'm wearing a pink dress from White House Black Market (they don't have it anymore or I'd show you!). Not sure if I'll do wedges or heels... I want to do wedges for comfort, but heels are probably a better look.

Morning! I also have a wedding today for dhs cousin. I’m not really looking forward to it. The invite says formal but other things make it seem sort of tacky. I’ll probably have to hide my eye rolls all night.

Plus it’s my busiest week of the year and i have to rush home from work to change and drive an hour to the wedding.

I hope it ends up being fun! Our wedding is also MH's cousin's wedding. It's at this glass enclosed botanical garden venue that looks gorgeous!

Morning! Last day of the fiscal year. We are getting a delivery today that will have to be hand counted before we can pay for it. It’s just 20,000 pieces. So that will be my day.

Morning. Sorta glad it’s Friday, sorta not since I have to work this weekend. This morning I will take H to school and then S to her appt at 10. I’m going to ask about getting the girls flu shots while I’m there. Nothing planned for the rest of the day, I think it’s going to be rainy.

Morning. It's another gloomy, rainy day here and my mood matches. I'm going to try to keep quiet at work today because it'd be so easy to onload on one of my more bone-headed coworkers. At least yesterday they were smart enough to keep the TV off, so we all might make it through today relatively unscathed.

This seems to be a wedding filled weekend for you all!

We are in STL at my parents house. My husband is running our lab in a hunt test this weekend up here so he is off doing that. I’m driving to Evansville, IN to take a puppy to her new owner. This one is my favorite so FX I don’t cry and look like a fool.😂. Also spending time with my uncle visiting from AZ. So a lot going on. But S seems to be doing pretty good. She hasn’t had any more walking issues and seems to be using her right hand *slightly* more. So hoping that continues to improve.

I think I forgot to update about S’s IEP meeting the other day.

Communication is still pretty tough for us. She labels things...chair, bed, car, ect. And identifies colors correctly. But doesn’t tell us what she wants/needs. And doesn’t understand/follow basic commands. So we are looking into Augmentative and alternative communication as a possibility. Basically using a device or picture board for her to communicate her needs.

Have any of you known anyone to go this route? Did it help? xolastunicornxo? I know you guys use ASL but curious if you have any background on this also? We have also considered ASL and she has a few signs she uses.

Sitting at work, waiting for tacos.
Cadence came to my room at about 12:30, came to bed, then said she wasn't tired. I told her if she wasn't going to sleep she needed to go back to her room. She left, came back and asked where mh was. He wasn't home yet. She left again, came back and said she needed someone to turn her light on so she could play. No. So she left again, came back with her blanket. Got back in my bed, had to fix her blanket for her, got up again because she wanted water. Went into my bathroom, no cup, had to go to her bathroom for a cup. Asked me to turn my light on, NO. Shuffled and huffed through the house to her bathroom, got her water, came back and went back to sleep.
Unfortunately my fitbit was charging...I would have loved to have seen my sleep pattern for that ridiculousness.

lfig we used sign language and picto books in the special needs daycare I worked at. Little binders with velcro strips were the kids could form sentences with the picto’s they had.

Got to work and checked my email to find out that M purchased Young Sheldon Season 2 Episode 1 this morning from her kindle.

lfig we used a picture board for awhile when he was little, and before we knew about his hearing loss. We basically had a sheet with Velcro strip on the fridge and then little containers of pictures (one for food, one for activities etc). So I could use it if it was time to brush his teeth and go to bed, I’d put those pictures up. If he wanted a banana he could find that pic and put it up. It worked ok. We threw around the idea of an iPad, but ultimately decided against it because we were worried he’d become dependent on it and not continue to try to communicate on his own. ASL has been amazing, and if that’s something you guys decide to move forward with I’ll help however I can!!

We’re at the pedi for M2’s 15 month appointment. All we have left are his shots and then I’m dropping him off at school for an hour and a half so I can go get fitted for contacts. When I pick him up we are headed north for his ENT follow up.

Busy day. I’m already tired.
