lfig we used a picture board for awhile when he was little, and before we knew about his hearing loss. We basically had a sheet with Velcro strip on the fridge and then little containers of pictures (one for food, one for activities etc). So I could use it if it was time to brush his teeth and go to bed, I’d put those pictures up. If he wanted a banana he could find that pic and put it up. It worked ok. We threw around the idea of an iPad, but ultimately decided against it because we were worried he’d become dependent on it and not continue to try to communicate on his own. ASL has been amazing, and if that’s something you guys decide to move forward with I’ll help however I can!!

Thanks! That was a concern I mentioned...about becoming dependent on it and not furthering her language skills. But they said that isn’t usually an issue. We are still kicking around ideas and going to get evaluated for what will work best with her.

lfig my sister used picture board for my nephew. He still uses it occasionally for things they are still working on. His therapist provided one but she got another one

The pediatrician called me last night. She hadn't received the lab results on the ear culture yet but I gave her the gist of it. She wants the actual results before determining whether to switching his abx though.

She said they don't see a lot of streptococcus bacteria anymore since the PCV vaccine covers the main strains. I asked which type he had to see if it was one covered under the vaccine but she didn't have the results in front of her. For the time being, I'm going to cancel the allergist/immunologist appt Tuesday. She'll order blood work to check his antibodies and a few other things before determining whether we should proceed with the allergy testing.

I asked about doing the testing for PID and she said they would do it if the initial lab reports reveal the pneumococcal antibodies are low.

I didn’t do anything yet. I purchased the black paint for the doors, and I have one filing hanging thing. I still need either a chalkboard or whiteboard and definitely a corkboard and floating shelf.

M won't eat soup.  I strain it for her and she eats the noodles/chicken/veg stuff in it.

C only eats tomato soup, it has to have a grilled cheese on the side and only at school.

I can understand, one girl in ds’s class has a severe nut allergy. I double checked everything with here mom. At this school everything is home baked, and I mean everything. They make their own bread every Thursday, they eat this in class Friday.
