I booked the Pumpkin patch for their party. It has a play ground built out of a combine, a corn maze, tricycle racing, animals to snuggle, tractor ride to a pumpkin patch and fake farming displays that you "milk a cow" and so forth and then get a prize for collecting everything. I'm having it at 3 so just snacks and desserts. I'm thinking pasta salad, fruit/vegetable treys, sandwich sliders, chips, brownies, apple slices and caramel, carrot cake cup cakes - and I think that's enough. Do you guys think it's fine to just have water in a cooler? People are going to be in and out of the room while they do the activities and I think cups of drinks is going to be a pain.

I'd probably do bottled water and juice boxes. Well, honestly I'd have alcohol in that cooler too but I don't think this is that kind of party

Evie has requested Chuck E. Cheese for her birthday. We drive past one on a main road through town, so I'm considering altering my route for the next month so she forgets.

I sent out invites on Tuesday. We invited 30 kids, hoping for a max of 20. I have had two kids come up to me at pickup to say they will be there. This doesn't really count as an RSVP though, right? I also had another kids older sibling tell me he will be there.

S decided that he wants a LEGO theme. So I ordered invitations today. I like this theme and found some really cute favors to go with it. And I think I’ll give everyone a little LEGO blind bag.
There are 20 kids on his class - adding in siblings and family friends, we could wind up with close to 30. Yikes But it’s thanksgoving weekend so I’m sure we’ll lose a few. I’m hoping it winds up 15-20, that seems more manageable

I've decided since the boys are obsessed with Halloween and creepy things to go full on cheesy Halloween decorations for the party. So I spent $30 at dollar tree on spiders, bats, jack o lanterns and other stuff like that. Its killing me not doing a pretty leaf and traditional pumpkin theme so Alex is proud of me lol.

I booked O’s party at a trampoline place near my house. He has 19 kids in his class plus i have a few friends with kids, so MH doesn’t want to invite the whole class. I kinda feel bad because O will have to pick only a few kids from class. On the other hand, i don’t really want to spend $800 in a bday party.

We have 1 place that I think ends up working out for inviting the whole class but this is the reason I chose to have it at our house. We have a large enough basement of we need to have it inside and a huge backyard with an additional farm field for everyone to run around (plus the bounce house). But if you get invites out early enough maybe you could add a few kids if some say no.

We couldn’t invite the whole class because we have friends and family kids too and we can’t afford that. I wish the weather was predictable because I would do a bounce house at my house and invite everyone but it could rain or be freezing this time of year.

When we did it last year we ended up with I think 24 kids but they were never in there all at the same time. But I should ask

We always had the rule at home that you could invite as many kids as the age you turned plus yourself. I thought I’d follow this rule. There’s an unwritten no invites rule at school, so I texted the other parents to invite the kids yesterday (I know, tacky...). We’re having it a visitors centre in the dunes and we’ll either do a bunny walk (the kids get ears and need to look for bunny pictures in the woods) or if the weather is really nice we’ll just let the kids play in the sand. They’ll have a table set up with cupcakes and lemonade . ETA ds class split last year, so he still has friends in the other class to, since each class has 21 kids. So besides it not being the norm over here, inviting the whole class is not an option.

C told me today that he’s worried no one will come to his party. I assured him that wouldn’t balky. We have 10 for sure coming, 3 maybes, and another 10 we are waiting on. I wonder if people will just show up and take the RSVP as a regrets only thing.

Quick question do you invite the teachers if you are inviting the class? The one party we went to did but I don’t know if that’s common or not.

We’ve never invited the teachers. I can’t imagine the teachers want to go to 20 birthday parties on the weekends. Most of the parties we’ve been to are at a play place and the parents sit somewhere and chat, so there is little interaction anyway

We've only been to one where the teacher was invited. We don't invite them.

Ok good. The only one at our school that we’ve gone to invited all the teachers. It didn’t seem normal but wanted to ask.

Ok, so Cadence is having an LOL themed party. Would it look cheap of me if I went through her current LOL collection, took out all of her duplicates and added them to the party favor bag? I would obviously make sure it had its appropriate accessories and was in good condition.

It didn’t seem normal but wanted to ask. and from the teachers perspective, I doubt they'd want to come and feel obligated to give a gift. Then creates odd dynamic if teacher goes to some and not others. Just seems like a tricky situation.

He was working on it last night and Cadence went in there and started telling him she wanted it to have sparkle and it didn't have enough.

I just read another story on Yahoo where the kid invited 30 classmates, people RSVPed yes, and no one showed. We still haven't had a class party this year so I have no clue what the turnout would be like :/
I'm thinking of trying to sell B on a birthday trip to DC, lol.
