sarahh At least I know I’m not alone! He won’t even eat the puffs on his own. He will pick them up, stare at them, sometimes open his mouth, that’s it. He eats pretty well when I feed him. He has his 8 month appointment tomorrow so I’ll ask at that.

cake, let me know what they say. My girl loves food and would eat all day but prefers not to have to do it herself.

cake we’re the exact opposite. Everything has to go in Ge rye mouth so I’m always on edge that he’s going to get something he’s not supposed to. His current favorite is books/paper.

We are in this boat too. He put a piece of paper in his mouth last night. We call him swiper because he will swipe anything and put it in his mouth. We had plastic eggs from Easter and he put the whole thing in his mouth. Cue panic.

sarahh I’ll keep you posted! kbw You make a good point that I probably don’t need to worry as much about him eating something he shouldn’t. It also makes things a lot less messy lol

He tried putting the cats tail in his mouth yesterday. 😮I have to be so careful about what toys G plays with when he is around because if she drops something small, he is bound to find it and try to eat it.

Does anyone's baby still not have teeth? Baby turns 9 months tomorrow and still nothing. This is new territory since DD1 got hers so early. When are you supposed to worry?

Thank you everyone for sharing what your LO eats! It's helpful to see what everyone else is doing.
DS nurses sometime around 6 AM usually, and then he has a 6oz bottle at 9, 12ish, and 3 ish. He has some cereal and a puree in the morning, and one at dinner time. I nurse him when I get home at 6:30, and then nurse him again before bed at 8. There is usually at least 1 MOTN session as well although that's definitely more for comfort.
Hopefully this is enough or not too much? Lol. I never know!

sarahh Our doctor told us at 6 months not to be surprised if H doesn’t get any teeth until 12 months (he does now have 2). He said it’s not as common, but sometimes babies will get them late and when that’s the case, they often get them one right after another.

My cousins daughter is three months older than G. She didn’t get teeth until 13 months. It was a really shitty few weeks of hardcore teething because she basically got them all at once. Brace yourself. 😮

We are always trying to hide them because G always puts them somewhere that the baby can get them. It’s these. The heads come off and stuff and the figures themselves are only an inch or two tall so the pieces that come apart are so freakin tiny that I sometimes miss them. Even if she brought them to her room, I can’t be sure she won’t bring them down again.

cake sarahh DD1 was like that, never putting anything in her mouth from toys to food. She wouldn’t pick anything up. She in general didn’t like food at all but 🤷🏼♀️. I can clearly remember the day when she was 11 months old and she picked up some sort of baby food biscuit and took a bite all on her own. I was so freaking excited. I called my mom and my husband. Lol. But we tried for what felt like forever to get her to pick something up and put it in her mouth!!! No ‘tricks’ worked other than refusing to do it for her at all, but we didn’t start that until 10.5 months or so.

Today I’ve been working on switching the clothing sizes in DD3 and 4’s closets. I’m also doing laundry. The amount of folding and hanging and sorting I’ve done so far is unreal, and I’m not even close to finished.

DD feel asleep sitting up in her crib. At least I'm 99% sure she was asleep because she had her back to the camera, but silent and not moving. She finally laid down/ fell backwards. That was so bizarre.

That was so bizarre. Liv did this the other night. I looked in at the camera after a while and she was completely folded over like she was sitting up and just laid down on her belly... so I went in and changed her legs around to be totally on her belly. That kinda weirds me out. LOL.

So how much food are your littles eating? I forget how this goes. I'm planning to ramp down to 2 pumps a day at 8 months I think. Last night at dinner the baby ate more than the 3 year old! I made baked falafel and he had 2 of them. Really it is hit or miss. He gets breakfast lunch and snack at daycare now (they just break it into little piece) and usually some of what we eat at dinner. If it isn't something he can eat I will supplement with puffs or baby food. same. H hates purées and will only eat real food. So we’ve been giving her whatever I make for dd1 and some days she eats more than her. It sucks having another mouth to feed haha

Thanks @amc! This is so different than DD1. DD2 will still eat soft foods and even tried steak so it's definitely not holding her back but I'm sure she would love to eat some harder foods!

Had another weight check today. At 8.5 months she is 14 pounds 1 ounce. Still just shy of doubling birth weight. I was grateful for the nurse I met with today though. She said baby looks happy and healthy and someone has to be on the bottom. I know all of that, but she’s the first nurse/doctor to actually say it and believe it, not make me feel like I’m possibly doing something wrong. So I’m calling it a win. 👍🏻

ajetter we’re just over 15 lbs at 7.5 months. I’m struggling because he’s still in 0-3 clothes for the most part and I feel like I’m failing. Especially when people think he’s much younger than he is.

The baby can now pull himself up on things. I wasn’t ready for this at 7.5 months. I bet my mom tonight I think he’ll be walking by Christmas which freaks me out.

kbw I’m surprised by how much comments bother me when we’re out in public. To the point that I almost hate running errands with her. I know that no one means any harm, but it stings a little when every passerby mentions how tiny she is. Her weight and length are very proportional, so she just looks like a very healthy 3-4 month old. 🤷🏼♀️ A friend recently made a remark that she usually feels like babies grow so fast, but mine looks the same since she saw her 4 months ago. Anyway, I feel for you. You aren’t failing. My older three were all 40th - 50th percentile babes and I’m doing nothing different. High fives from the bottom of the growth chart.

We’re having a rough night over here. But what is killing me is getting slapped repeatedly with wet zipadee zip flippers. Lol. She sucks/chews on them when she is falling asleep or upset so now they’re just wet and she’s mad and flailing and I’m grossed out.

DH left for a weekend hunting trip and I'm packing up so the boys and I can go to my mom's for the weekend. I'm not solo parenting all weekend without extra entertainment.
DH usually handles overnight wake ups (don't hate me!) so I'm in an exhausting weekend

I got cocky and celebrated when DD fell asleep instantly without a peep when I laid her down in her crib. Then she was up 3 times before I got up at 5am, and H came parading her in while I was in the shower. So, despite going to sleep at 9pm I'm still sleepy.

We had a rough night of sleep too...all week has been pretty rough so I'm exhausted! His teeth are really bothering him and as soon as Tylenol wears off at night he is crying. We had been doing some version of sleep training and were down to 1 wake up or none, but since he has been teething I don't want to leave him cry for too long. I have only gotten a few hours of sleep the past several nights....ZzzZzzzz!
