This is what our weekend looked like! O, Canada! 😝 I’ve got all 3 kids home with me today, mostly just kicking around the house trying to get life organized. Hope everyone has a good one! Don’t worry the snow is almost all gone now haha.

No school for the big girls so we’re all home this afternoon. I took the oldest two for flu shots followed by ice cream. DH has a confirmed case in his office last week, with an asthma kid at home we can’t wait. Nothing crazy going on this week. Except for keeping four kids alive, transporting them to various activities and training for a half marathon. The same old same old, but it’s amazing how little free time we have anymore!

I’m so tired. I think the baby was chilly. He was up making noise off and on from 4-6. I went into the shower at 5:40 because I had to get G up for school. Now that he is comfortable, the baby is still asleep and it’s almost 7. This is going to make his schedule a little weird today.

Baby V was exhausted at the end of the day yesterday. She took a 20 min nap in the morning. Period. I tried putting her in bed early and she fussed for a long time so I got her back up and brought her down to the kitchen b/c we were all still eating. She ate a WHOLE BANANA, then we re-did bedtime and she was good to go. I guess this baby needs to eat now? Or was just super hungry last night? I kind of liked the days when she didn't really NEED to eat, ya know?

Baby eats a pouch before her morning and midday bottles at daycare and usually at night too unless we make her actual food. Last night DD1 was sick so we were all laying in bed and I gave baby some puffs hoping that would be enough before the bottle. No. She needed 1/4 a tube of puffs plus her pouch then her bottle.

So how much food are your littles eating? I forget how this goes. I'm planning to ramp down to 2 pumps a day at 8 months I think.

I made baked falafel and he had 2 of them. Really it is hit or miss. He gets breakfast lunch and snack at daycare now (they just break it into little piece) and usually some of what we eat at dinner. If it isn't something he can eat I will supplement with puffs or baby food.

Three meals a day plus snacks here at 7.5 Months. This girl loves her food. She still has about 3 daytime bottles (ff) and 2 feedings overnight.

Sorry I just keep popping in with pics this week haha, but DD1 started preschool today! She was SO excited, she’s been dying to to the last two years with DS lol! And now I have a couple of hours of alone time with DS and N in the morning, so when N was napping it was just quiet time with DS which was something I don’t get much of anymore! So it will be a nice change of pace I think for our relationship! ETA-the tree in the first picture is the same as the one in my snow pics haha, so you can see all is right in our world again 😂😂

She eats some of what we are having at lunch and supper and some snacks like Cheerios and such in between. And I’m actually just transitioning to formula so still figuring that schedule out.

DS is the same age and he has been getting purees 2x a day, sometimes 3, but we haven't decreased his breastmilk/formula at all yet. Should I be?

My little man gets 4 bottles per day, 2 6oz bottles and 2 5oz bottles. He gets three meals a day. Schedule is sort of like this but does fluctuate a bit. 6:45ish -6oz bottle 8:30ish breakfast 11:45ish lunch 12:45-1ish 5oz bottle 3:45ish 6oz bottle 5:15ish dinner 6:45ish 5oz bottle. ETA: he will be 9mo in 2 days

I can’t figure out a schedule either. Right now she gets three 4 ounce bm bottles while I’m away which is from 7:30-3:00.
I nurse her around 6:30.
She has oatmeal and fruit around 8 ish.
Then she gets three bottles between 9:00-and 2:00. I don’t know if this is too much but today my MIL said the second bottle didn’t seem like it was enough, so I think we need to add lunch.
I have to see what time the second bottle is, but I don’t know if the two meals and three bottles is too much for that time period or not?

pinkcat don’t think there is really any right or wrong. Can Depend a bit on the bigger picture of your feeding plans. I wouldn’t suggest to specifically cut down on bottles as I think it naturally seems to happen from LO the more solid food is introduced. We have done real solid food (no more purées) after 6.5 months and she loves it. Hoping to fully bottle wean around 12-13 months. We also have been introducing a sippy of water at meal times so she can familiarize with it. She also took great to the munchkin cup with a straw. When we get closer to 11 months I plan on gradually introducing whole milk mixed with formula in a sippy as part of the bottle wean. Hope this makes sense! Every kid and plan is different.

He eats between three to four 4 ounces bottles at daycare, nurses before I leave and nurses twice before bed. He eats solids for lunch but isn’t super thrilled with food which is the opposite of DS1. He’s pretty content just nursing. I think a lot of it is that he wants to eat food blw style but gets frustrated since he has no teeth.

Between work and swim practice I feel like I’m drowning. I also have 25 lbs of apples to use up that we picked this weekend.
The baby has been army crawling and trying to stand for a while but tonight he actually crawled to me when I was reading to DS1.
I’m also hoping he doesn’t get sick because DS1 said a kid puked at daycare today but the daycare provider didn’t say anything to me.

Fourth child and still I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing in regards to how much solids to be giving and when is the best time. Lol. The only thing I have going for me is that because of her slow growth I’m not supposed to cut out any nursing. Just add food.
When it works out we do purées at lunch and dinner. We’ve had to cut back multiple times because it was seeming like she slept like shot on the days she had more solids. And carrots and squash got her constipated. She’s about 8.5 Months. I’m determined to start offering some more real food (not purees) by the time she is 9 Months. DD3 never really liked purees and only wanted whole food, but DD4 is loving purees so 🤷🏼♀️.

Some day I won’t look forward to getting back in to bed the moment I get out of it, right? Always so damn tired. I swear I’m going to bed early tonight.

We do cereal in the morning (7am), then daycare typically does one or two snacks plus lunch. He will have about three 5oz bottles at daycare.
Once he’s home, solids at 5:30-6 and a 5oz bottle right after. Then at bedtime (8) he’ll have an 8 ounce bottle. About a month ago he started getting up in the night to eat again. I thought he’d grow out of it, but has not. So we’ve been trying to wean him off of that this week. We’re slowly decreasing it each night and he’s down to 2.5 oz, hoping he will be done with it by next week.

Question about solids:
The baby will not pick up anything and put it in his mouth. Totally can not feed himself. He actually won’t put anything in his mouth, no teething toys, nothing other than his hands. Has anyone dealt with this? Do you just keep putting food in front of him and hope for the best?
He has just in the past week or so started to hold his bottle. I have to put it in his mouth and if he drops it, I have to put it back, but he will hold on himself. So at least that’s going in the right direction.
The kid can walk around a table on his own, but can’t put food in his mouth, I have no idea what I’m doing 🤷♀️

cake, DD2 is the same way - she is 9 months tomorrow and will not hold her bottle herself. And won't feed herself either. The only thing she will feed herself is puffs and that's only if I put them on her high chair and walk away. If I'm in eyesight she will fuss until I feed her. I feel like DD1 was holding her bottle way earlier than this but it's hard to remember. DD1 wasn't a huge fan of food like DD2 is so I can't really compare that part.
