How old do babies have to be to get the flu shot? I forgot to ask at DD2's 1 month appt. 6 months and then a booster a month later.

DS is sick and we’re planning to spend the day on the couch watching HGTV and probably a lot of Daniel Tiger. Poor kid is a coughing, stuffy mess. And I actually have a husband vent. My normally sane and pro vaxx husband is so against the flu shot and has lost his mind. DS got one Friday and he’s convinced it’s what made him sick (maybe it was the germy doctor’s office? Or the million other places he’s been??) He’s refusing to get one even though two doctors now have explained to him how it’s not possible and how important it is since I’m pregnant and the baby will be born during flu season. He has to do more “research” first. OMFG. Oh dear. I hope he comes around. Not getting a flu shot with a newborn just isn't acceptable.

I’m bribing my big kids with McDonald’s to go get their shots at the flu clinic on Saturday. H’s office does a flu shot clinic for all employees. They bribe them with cookies.

I have a negative reaction to the flu shot. I get pukey and gross feeling. It is why I have skipped the flu shot for so many years. I’m debating getting one this year but I’m still not 100% sure. I’ve had drs tell me some people do have this response to the shot. I know it’s not the flu but it still sucks. Did you last get it when it was active? The shot now has the inactive virus and it shouldn’t cause flu-like symptoms since it’s a dead virus. It’s been close to 10 years ago probably since I got it last. I wasn’t aware they had changed the shot.

Also, the baby is sick and she didn't even get the shot. I hope they both come around. I will drive H to CVS myself if I have to.

Tomorrow is C’s day to bring in snack. He wants pretzels, strawberries, and juice boxes. So I’m going to try to track down strawberries for 17 kids that don’t look like shit. I think I’ll just head to sams and see what they have. freeze dried strawberry snack packs? Or strawberry shaped/flavored fruit snacks. I’m going to see what Sams Club has first. They typically have decent fruit off season. I’ll keep those ideas in mind if I can’t find any decent strawberries though.

Oh man, I can't do flu shots on a Monday morning. This did prompt me to call around and find a pharmacy that will give it to kids as young as DS2 though.

My kid starts his engineering program after school today. He’s not excited about it and I’m not excited because I have to pick him up instead of the bus taking him home.
H is excited for it, though.

The only active flu vaccine is the nose spray, but I don’t think that’s been available for the past two years.

I’m tired, yo. And sore. I’m too old to be doing cartwheels with the girl all weekend. My grandma could cartwheel into the splits well into her 60s; I tried it just before I got pregnant last year and it did not go well.

I’m signing DS up for golf classes this week. I have no expectations of him turning into Tiger Woods, but he is so excited and since H and I like to golf, I’m hoping we can make it a family thing.

Thats awesome that you can get him in so young! All the places around here start golf at 5, but MH can’t wait to get A started.

We got a puppy this weekend and I'm so in love. She's the sweetest thing, and she already has a good handle on the whole house training thing.

I was surprised, but there’s a place near my house that offers 3-5 yr old classes, has weekday morning availability, and it was really affordable. So I couldn’t pass it up.

There was a fraudulent charge on my credit card. It's a pain because it's the one I have all recurring payments on.
I have some stuff I ordered from Old Navy that I was going to send back. What will they do if the card I used is now locked? WIll I be better off taking it to the store to return?

I'm super pissed at Old Navy right now. Shopping for jeans when you are 6'1" is the worst, and of course everything I bought was too small, so then I try to go return and exchange them in the store and they are all "we don't have your new, bigger size, sorry!" So here I am with nearly $200 locked up in a freaking gift card, and two tantruming kids in the store.

I'm doing orientation week at daycare for the boys. Of course, my stroller lock broke when I dropped them off today. Which then turned into me walking a mile to an auto body shop, borrowing a saw, walking around the city with it and then sawing off the lock. When I went back into the daycare, I had to ask the director to hold the saw so that I didn't bring it into the room full of babies. So, mother of the year over here Oh my gosh. Like how big was this saw? The visual is hilarious. Like this 😬

Did you still have to change info for recurring payments if you had any? I think the daycare charge may not have gone through on Saturday.

jaidit, that's what I was envisioning! You walked into an auto body shop and asked to borrow and saw and they just handed it to you? Regional, I guess!
