It's raining. It's been raining pretty hard for over an hour.
I've been up since 5 and Cadence joined me shortly after. While I like melatonin for falling asleep, I'm not a fan of these early wake ups.
Mh is handling gymnastics and swim today so I can get some time to myself. I was supposed to sleep in, but that clearly isn't happening.
What's going on with you guys? Any fun plans?

Morning!
C was up early, but DH took one for the team and played Paw Patrol with her. He just left to get donuts and B is still sleeping.
B has his first tennis lesson this morning, he is so excited.
Otherwise just lots of football-watching today.

klong11 enjoy your time! flamingo cant wait to see pics of B playing tennis and hear how he did! H had to work this morning, so we are up early as well. He was pissed about it, but whatever, take the OT. I plan on cleaning and finishing laundry. I need to go to Bath & Body Works, not sure if we will wait for H to do that or not.

Hi ladies. Our friends from out of town are visiting. I beat them all at cards last night. I accomplished a ton at work yesterday. I'm going to pick up a few things to make breakfast soon. We're going to Farmers Market later. I love that our local FM is for lazy people. At the one in my home town if you weren't there soon after it opened at 8 you'd miss out on all the good stuff. Here it doesn't even open until 10.

Good morning. I didn’t sleep well at all and woke up with my back being sore. O has a stuffy nose so had trouble sleeping all night. He whimpers, grinds his teeth, and has interrupted breathing. It kept me up all night because i was so worried about him. I think he needs his tonsils and adenoids out too. Do your kids have a rough time breathing at night when their nose is stuffed?

Morning! We’re all up snuggling on the couch with the fireplace on. It’s a chilly morning!
I just ran and got donuts for breakfast. Not much on the agenda for today. We’re hoping to start painting in the basement during nap time

Good morning! We have no plans today. Might go to the grocery store. Very exciting.
Last night after it got dark I walk to my next door neighbors to get Giovanna who was over there playing. Well, they had some people over and insisted I come in and hang out. And they gave me wine. Oh, did I mention I was wearing my PAJAMAS. 😂 I had planned on just knocking on the door, getting her and leaving. Not going inside. 🤷🏼♀️

Morning Loves!
Low key day today. Layla had as good week at school so her reward is a picnic at her favorite park. We've invited some cousins but I'm not sure yet if they are coming.
Other than that I just plan to finish laundry and maybe go to the grocery store.

He also said we didn’t need a sleep study, that the parent can listen to them at home and determine if they have any of the warning signs. I’m supposed to call him back and report back. I need to talk to my pediatrician though because he seemed to think O didn’t need surgery. I don’t want to just show back up in his office for his 5 year checkup and he had no tonsils. Lol.

It's just a small boot camp gym. Basically one big room with boot camp classes throughout the day. No childcare, but I'll bring my kids if needed and they just sit on the side and eat snacks. I try to avoid bringing L though, cause 2 year old who wants in on the action!

slenle, I want donuts so bad. We usually get them on Sat, but I'm doing a 6 week diet challenge at my gym... so, egg whites, veggies and almonds over here.

Sorry about O, @snoop! We had soccer this morning, and the team played for an extra 45 minutes on the field so Josie is nice and tired right now. My car was making a terrible grinding sound on the way home—I’m sure it’s the brakes. We’re dropping it off at the shop as soon as mh gets out of the shower!

I’m sorry vino .... too early for that shit! snoopmommymom You need to take O into your pedi and tell him to look in his throat and say: This is what a 3 on the tonsil scale looks like. If it looks like this your patient needs to see an ENT and probably get them removed. You’re welcome for the lesson. 😂

I would question if he’s the right pediatrician for you. If he didn’t think he needed the surgery but the ent said it was that bad then I would question the pedi. Just me tho. IDK. I wouldn't jump to, "he's a terrible pediatrician" for not recommending surgery. Pediatricians are the first line of defense but they are not specialists; if he referred her to an ENT, he did his job, even if his personal opinion was that it might not be necessary. Having just gone through this process, there is a lot of gray. B's tonsils are so large they literally overlap, and he has plenty of other stuff going on, but our ENT was still on the fence about doing surgery...hence, the sleep study. It's a lot to put a kid through if you only "think" it will help with their issues. I appreciate a more measured approach as opposed to, "Well let's rip these puppies out and see if things get better!" Also, sometimes kids' tonsils/adenoids essentially grow faster than the cavities surrounding them, so sometimes doctors will take a 'wait and see' approach until children are 5-6 to see if things improve. That may have been Snoop's pedi's perspective.

Tennis was super cute, B really enjoyed it. It's a class of four and the coach is a character. There are twin boys in the class that played the previous session and were impressive, I'm interested to see if that's how much B will progress! He held his own, though, and I thought the coach did a good job of making it fun.
DH went out for subs for lunch, so now we're camped out watching football.

Happy first day of fall! We definitely are having fall weather today and I love it. DH just finished mowing, the girls are playing in the swing set and I’m hanging on the deck. I’ll be going in to get lunch going soon. DH is going to a diaper keg later and the girls and I are going to my sister’s for dinner. My dad and step mom will be there, they are planning to head back down to AZ pretty soon so we need to spend time with them before they go.

Thanks flamingo. You summed up the situation nicely. My pediatrician, along with our chiropractor (wrong specialty i know) both suggested that as he grows in the next year or two, it’ll sort itself out. He did say though, if the apnea is happening when he’s 100% healthy we have a problem. By the sounds of it, O’s tonsils don’t sound as bad as B’s, yet our ent was fine going ahead with surgery. I just want to make sure i make the right decision. I would hate to put him through surgery if it wasn’t necessary, but at the same time i hate hearing his restless sleep.

I just want to make sure i make the right decision. I would hate to put him through surgery if it wasn’t necessary, but at the same time i hate hearing his restless sleep. I understand. Our pedi in FL had more of a wait-and-see approach, but B was also barely 3 at the time. He did work with us to rule some things out (allergies, for ex) so we wouldn't have to waste time on that later. Our pedi here pointed out his jumbo tonsils, but we also were already seeing an ENT here b/c of the ear tubes, so I don't think she felt the need to weigh in. What finally pushed me into "let's pursue surgery" column was when we went in one night and it appeared B was foaming at the mouth (his snoring was causing his saliva to bubble up...then he'd cough to clear it). It was disturbing. I'm optimistic that it's going to help him, but tbh it's taken me the better part of a year to come around to it.

Hi all, last night was super fun. I felt like such a mom cliche with hundreds on mom's at a mom's night out, but we had a fun time. They talked a lot about how important mom friends are.
Then went to a bday party today and realizing I am not a fan of all the new boys that have joined the class, they play rough and are super immature compared to last year's class. And the parents aren't as chill. Womp womp. I think I've ruled out a class party for j.
I'm super tired bc I was up late doing an assignment I didn't due Thurs. I may take a nap and then run a few errands around town, like go to pottery Barn and sit on couches...
