Nothing much to report over here. LO seems to be in kind of a fussy mood lately- lots of loud noises and a tendency to be over-dramatic/fake crying. I think he really wants to walk and is frustrated that he can’t figure it out yet. All in good time baby!

Well...had another rough day with naps. Baby did at least nap twice but it was a fight. Hoping he'll also sleep tonight. He woke up 2x last night. Anyways I got to cleaning all the baseboards and vacuumed the house so that felt really good. I also popped the biggest milk bleb ever. OMG! it was so bloody painful and more painful with DS nursing.

My internal clock wakes at 5am every day now. I need coffee but am too lazy to go make it. Traveling this afternoon thru Friday so at least I get to see the kids before I head out.

LO has been fighting bedtime the past few nights. He nurses then screams if I take him off the boob. Even though he isn't actually eating, he just wants to be latched. This is very unusual for him, he's never been a comfort nurser. DH has to take him and he's able to calm him down usually. Idk what's going on with that.

He's just been clingy to me lately. My back is still incredibly sore from wrangling him the entire football game last Friday. He wanted nothing to do with anyone else (grandparents, who he knows well) and I had to hold/carry him around the entire night. It was exhausting and physically taxing since my arthritis is also flaring.

DH says to enjoy it while it lasts and I know he's right. Still, it is tiring.

Just got my first postpartum period, it is draining the energy out of me and I get my IUD put in today. Tomorrow is shaping up to be a better day since my cleaners are coming for the first clean! I don’t know if we’ll keep the service in the long run but it’s nice to have someone else take care of things for a bit.

Thanks for well wishes and sympathy pats. Today seems to be better day. A slight fever, like 100-101 but a small return in appetite and she did crawl and explore this evening.

However, arash has appeared all over her chest and face. The pediatrician on call said tonight that it can be normal following a high fever like hers with influenza A. The doctor emphasized that how she acts is much more important than fever but.....

just to solidify my status as crazy mom, I’m calling again tomorrow because I can’t stay off of google and rashes, flu, and babies don’t give positive search results.

Because It’s the flu.I can’t just shrug this off for some reason. Maybe is because my grandfather passed away from complications with the flu just 9 months ago or how sick my baby has been the last 11 months. I think my brain just needs reassurance she’s getting better but this rash isn’t helping...

CoachTsWife I just listened to a podcast on the “enjoy it while it last thing” people say to parents. I agree, we know it’s fleeting but in the moment that’s probably not helping me. Like, I might miss the idea that my back was sore from caring my babies all evening 20 years from now. But today, your back hurts and you have a clingy baby. And you probably just want to set him down for 2 seconds to do something crazy like put silverware away or pee or whatever. I’m sure I will miss nursing snuggles a year from now too but also I would like to not be touched for a whole 10 seconds please and thank you.

danvers the silver lining is she will be immune for the season hopefully if what she has ends up being the dominant strand.

Flu A is going around here like craaaazy. I hope so badly that nobody in our family gets it before the vaccine comes out in Oct. 🤞🤞

duskymonkey milk blebs are the worst!!! I swear 50% of the time I get a clog, it’s due to a dumb bleb. Hoping the pain goes away soon.

danvers, big hugs... you're not paranoid, you're a great and loving mother. I would do the exact same thing and wouldn't think twice. Update us. Despite her rash, I am glad to hear she's acting towards being herself. Thinking of baby girl and sending you strength.

Baby woke me up at 2:30 to eat, problem is I woke up with the WORST crick in my neck. I finally fell back asleep at 5 after crying and desperately trying to find a position that didn't cause me pain. I can't lift my head from a lying down position.

So, I'm basically dying today. The good news is by sheer luck I have a chiropractor appt today. Unfortunately it's at 4:30 which is like, an eternity away.

So yesterday sucked, DH got in a car accident on his way home in his rental, he was totally fine but not fun. And then I woke up around midnight with a fever, cramping, chills and shaking. Called the nurses line and they said to head to the hospital since I got the IUD put in. ER took forever but they think maybe I have an infection, I’m still waiting for the results. They jabbed me with a needle full of antibiotics before they sent me home at 5 am. They gave me a prescription for two of the strongest antibiotics out there but I’m hesitant to start them if there’s no infection. I’m feeling tired but otherwise ok today. And the OB/GYN who put it in, isn’t in the office and has yet to call me back. 🙄

But we got great news and there was a cancellation at the hospital so they can do DD1’s endoscopy next week!

DD2s rash is hives and it’s super itchy. MIL watched her today and basically kept her in cool baths all day to help the itching. The pedi office closes at noon on Thursdays so they were zero help. We gave her the tiniest bit of Benadryl and the itching seems a million times better . I’m staying home tomorrow in hopes the pedi can get her in or urgent care can give us an exact dose (because the bottle says NO to kids under 2 but the nurses line advised Benadryl when I called Wednesday about the rash!?!?)

Anyway, DD2 has eaten a ton tonight which makes me feel better. Still fussy but I feel like food and no fever still are good signs... despite the itchy rash.

The pedi called me back personally tonight (it’s usuallt our nurses who call back here) around 8. She asked me to text pictures to her clinic cell of the rash and then she said it definitely looks like hives, most likely caused by the viral infection. She gave an exact dosage for Benadryl. The Benadryl helps control the itching tremendously. I’m feeling a whole lot better right now about it all.

I just haveDD2 her second dose. Rocking her till she calms down and sleeps. I’m off work to snuggle with her tomorrow.

danvers I hope baby is on the mend soon. Flu already? I’m not prepared either.

I got food ordered for baby’s birthday party next weekend (chick fil a so super fancy but whatever. Everyone likes it) and I booked DSs party in November at the museum. He was super ungrateful and underwhelmed. He’s so spoiled sometimes. 🙄 anyway I’m feeling accomplished!

My mom is trying to give baby a bottle and it isn’t going well. We tried yesterday afternoon and it was a fail. I hear a lot of crying. 😫
😟 this has to happen for me to go back to work. Ideally I would rather work at home except hubs has literally taken over the office and I cannot work in the condition the office currently is in. I don’t even know how he can work with piles of crap on the desk. Anyways I’m hoping he’ll take a bottle from her so I can pump cos I have an open sore on my right nip now and it effing hurts when he nurses. I’m not ready to stop BF him but my BF journey has been painful. I’m sad 😢 I may have to go in and grit my teeth 😭
