This is genius, although the way I drink, my wine generally doesn't get warm. Unless I'm outside and it's 90+ degrees, then I'm likely drinking beer. But I have some red grapes at home I'm going to pop in the freezer tonight. Can't wait to tell H what they're for!

Alcohol is sold in supermarkets over here, nice and easy, you have to be 18. The law just changed two years ago it used to be 16 for beer and wine.

It's state-specific. Some states have really strict rules that you can't even go into a liquor store with a minor. My grandparents used to own liquor stores in NJ so I remember them telling me some of the crazy laws. NY gives no fucks. My kid always comes into the liquor store with me. Even as slow as KS is to open up their liquor laws (we couldn't buy liquor on Sundays or holidays until about 15 or 20 years ago, although I'm close enough to Missouri, we would just cross the state line for it), most stores here give away lolly pops to kids when you bring them in. yummeecookee My mom frequents the drive through often enough, they know her buy name. At least I'm not to that point yet.

I'm going to heat up my cajun shrimp...at least it's 1pm, so most people are done with lunch so I won't hear complaints about the fish smell.

When we went out to dinner last night there was a man walking around telling everyone with a hat on "take your hat off, you're inside, now you know your mama raised you better than that" and wouldn't leave their table until their hat was taken off. At first we thought he was an employee but once we saw him up close it was obvious he wasn't but it was odd. I was waiting for their to be a scene and looking for the closest exit.. Were people listening to him? I once saw what appeared to be, a homeless man, directing traffic here. There was no reason anyone should've been following his instructions. Like he was not official or employed by the city. Just out in an intersection, waving his arms about. And people were actually taking direction!

I hate that I have to make a special trip to a liquor store just for a bottle of wine.

slenle , what were the fireworks for last night? I heard some here where I live and I have no idea what they were for. Ours were for the end of our week long town festival. We also had them Thursday night to kick off the weekend. We saw Thursdays so I didn't feel bad missing them last night.

Question for you guys- do you all plan on doing swim lessons for your N13s or just teaching them how to swim yourself? I had B in a class when she turned 2, but that was more mommy n me funsies. I think I'd start feeling more secure if she learned how to swim for real. I'm late and haven't read the whole thread, so this may have been said, but the last two years M did mommy and me swim lessons at the YMCA. This year because he is 3, he will be in preschool lessons and will have to do it on his own. He "tested" out last year on his skills. I'm enrolling him for the end of July and will be just watching from the sideline with 2.0. I hope he does well without me going in with him.

But they just put it right back on when he walked away. His wife/GF was standing at the end of the dining room just leaning against the wall watching. It was so bizarre. And we weren't in a nice fancy restaurant.

csho I realized I didn't answer half of your question. We didn't really get anything done on the deck yesterday. We had to wait for the wood to dry. In the evening we went over to the ILs house to get a palm sander so we can sand a few spots that need it before we stain. you're putting together a tutorial for me, right?

H's bed is finally getting delivered today, so I'm anxiously waiting and hoping it comes before we leave in an hour. We are going to the pool with friends for my friend's baby's first birthday after nap.

Happy birthday inthekitty! No liquor sales on Sundays in Knoxville, TN either. Such a bummer on Super Bowl Sunday... learned that the hard way a few years back. Super weird peachsmama. Were there a lot of people there with their hats on at the table? How many tables did he do that at?

Were there a lot of people there with their hats on at the table? How many tables did he do that at? None at our table. We saw him do it to 3. But heard him to do to more as he was leaving but couldn't see it. One old man refused and was the table right by ours. He eventually moved on when he didn't budge but I was worried.

We're at cheesy amusement park today. I'm just so happy to have the day off with my family. The past couple of years I had to work out of town.
There's a water park portion we're skipping because it's overcast and in the mid-60s, but some hardcore Washingtonian kids are out there.

I need that old man to come talk to my boys. Oh, the horror when I tell them to take hats off at the table! 😂
I also need wine now. Thanks, jerks.

My kids have definitely been to a liquor store with me. Never had a problem. Bergen County has the weird rules in general - they still have blue laws on the books so malls, etc are closed on Sundays. Which is so weird to me (I am not in Bergen County) Although mwhip I am definitely jealous of your drive through liquor stores there. We don't have any in NJ. Edit - I typed this as I Was reading so I realize this was since covered

And we defininitely can buy it at grocery stores - I love the Costco wine selection. Although most grocery stores by me do not carry alcohol, so maybe there are just stricter so they don't bother? More of the "boutique" ones by me carry liquor

jewels NJ will definitely card other adults with you but your kids can be there. I spent my childhood running around a liquor store in NJ. PA liquor stores are owned by the state but PA has drive-thru beer distributors.

I do get wine delivered by the case to my house pretty regularly though because I buy a lot, lol.
