Like, the perfect, most sympathetic hurricane victim is the white family with two parents who have lost-graduate degrees, 2.1 adorable white children and one fluffy doodle. They follow all of the authorities instructions the first time but still lose everything. How tragic! Let’s devote 40 hours of television to soft focus shots of them crying as they contemplate having to rebuild. Anyone who stayed? How selfish! No sympathy for you! my gosh. this is not even close to what i said.

anywhere from 8-15 percent of households that will be affected don't have a car. www.wired.com/story/hurricane-evacuate-cities-cant-drive/?mbid=social_twitterAlso, today is payday for a lot of people. If you get paid bimonthly or every two weeks which a lot of people do, you are most likely down to pennies. I had $2 in my bank account yesterday and while I'm privileged enough to have access to additional funds if I needed it most people aren't. Then you have the people who have 7 dogs and 3 cats or have anxiety and the thought of leaving their house is crippling. There are many scenarios of people who stay. I don't fault them that. Even extreme stubbornness. I do however fault the people who purposely go to the beach to watch the storm come in or put themselves in harms way to record the flood waters and end up having to get rescued. FUCK those guys.

I still have my wisdom teeth which have moved all of my perfectly straight teeth. My confession is I have a cotton ball/cotton pad phobia and the thought of them even packing gauze in there has prevented me from getting those bad boys taken out. DNW gauze or cotton ANYWHERE near my teeth. Just the thought of putting a cotton ball in my mouth gives me the heebie jeebies! Same with wooden popsicle sticks and any kind of fabric. +1 I can't even touch cotton because it gives me the willies. I am a preschool teacher and if I plan a craft that uses cotton, I make sure my co-teacher is around to do it.

20 points to Gryffindor for that gif. 20 seems a bit stingy. I feel it needs more than that.

I have a lot of tactile issues, supposedly goes along with being a HSP (I know, not everyone buys into that). If I even put a pen or piece of paper just inside my lips for a few seconds because I need my hands for something else, I feel like gagging. Most bizarre thing. That being said, yeah, the gauze from my wisdom teeth extraction was gag-worthy indeed.

Some are crazy yes, but I feel that is due to increased pressure to get THE story.

I didn't know it was a confession to have towels older than DS but here I am. They are in great shape no holes or anything.
After SS moved out I had a lot of towels missing and bought some from a Kohl's sale.
I don't have towels that fall apart.

I see it as two groups. The beach watchers and those who are screwed by finances and circumstances that keep them in place. There are no good options if you own animals without the ability to remove them.

OK, I have one. I have to have another upper endoscopy because despite the weight loss, my reflux has gotten worse and none of the PPIs are working. I'm kind of looking forward to the nice buzz I get from the twilight sedation prior to the procedure. Last time the walls got all wavy and it was like a nice perfectly legal trip.

I hope you feel better ☺️ Thank you, I am downing copious amounts of coffee, coke (which is only a morning drink for me when hungover) and water. I'm slowly feeling better. However, I imagine if I lived in the land of inexpensive, good wine I would be drunk at home alone more... I absolutely loved 2 euro for a nice bottle of wine in Portugal. Europe is wonderful.

I never evacuated for a hurricane. Where was I going to go?
Add to that that I was literally on the state disaster team so after 1999 I couldn't evacuate if I wanted to anyway.
(we were mandated)

I’m so fascinated by the cotton ball phobia! How do you all feel about fluffy yarns? Sheep? How did you realize that you had this fear? Tell me everything. Certain yarns and knitted items are weird, too, it depends on what they are made of and the texture. Softer/smoother acrylic yarns don't usually bother me, but some other types of yarn do. Polyester stuffing like you buy at the craft store is usually fine. I don't mind petting a sheep, but not a big fan of wool as it makes me itchy and I don't like the way it feels, whether felted wool, yarn, or knitted or whatever. My boss gave me a lovely wool scarf for a gift a couple of years ago and i don't even like to touch it. It's definitely a texture thing, and nails on a chalkboard is a good description. Like if you rub it in your fingers there's a vibration or a squeaky feel, which is worse when it's wet. I wouldn't call it a phobia, more a strong aversion at least for me. But it does seriously weird me out when my kid puts her blanket in her mouth.

I just realized a few weeks ago that Costco and Cosco are 2 totally different companies. I 100% believed Costco was the one making all those car seats. I... uh... was today years old when I found this out as well. same

In a travel group I'm in, one of the business travelers who has over a million Hilton points donated 40 nights to people in that area in need (including responders) and Hilton matched his donation! Things like that are amazing and I hope they make it to the hands of those greatest in need.

When you are in the eye of the storm it's really not that bad if you're in a good structure. It's really weird and spooky.

Just speaking for myself I don't have a phobia of cotton balls, but they have a certain squeaky sound that will illicit the same response form me as nails on a chalkboard. They aren't made out of cotton (unless I guess they are special ones?). They are made out of polyester. Fluffy yarn doesn't "squeak" so I have no issue with it. Outside of a petting zoo situation, I am not sure I have had much opportunity to be near sheep.
