Hi all! Late check in today. Spent the morning at the granite shop and cabinet maker making decisions on the basement. I’m pretty happy with everything I picked, but still undecided on the granite.
My magician son found a way out of his crib that I had already lowered and turned around. I seriously have no idea how he did it but he just appeared downstairs 15 minutes after i laid him down for a nap. That’s 3 days in a row with no nap.... I think I might be doomed.
But of course that means he’s crabby. And so is n. So I’m giving in and letting them watch tv. At least we made it to the park for a bit.

sands42, actually great. I'd say she's day trained! We tried a few times, but she had a ton of accidents. I didn't want to push it so we were going to put it off. She requested underwear the next day (1.5 weeks ago) so we put her in them and very minimal accidents since! I guess when they're ready they're ready! Is your L potty training at all?

@sands, that’s great! I haven’t made any friends here, yet. The neighbor across the way has a 10 and a 14-year-old, and the neighbors to our left are retirees. All super nice, but not in our age range (for kids at least). I would meet a family each time at the beach, but they were sort of one time thing and I never saw them again. I’m hoping between soccer starting up this week and preschool that I (we) find a group.

guster, when we moved into our neighborhood 4 years ago it was all people with grown or teenage kids. Things have definitely turned over and so many little kids now. Hopefully you'll get some near you!

I put this in the Wednesday thread, then deleted. The neighbor girl is here. She waited about 2 minutes to ask for a snack. She already asked for another snack, which i said no to. Im not ruining her dinner.
I also asked when she usually has dinner and she doesnt know.

Have you asked if her parents know she's at your house?

wineallthetime That is awesome!! Sounds like she’s doing great! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I haven’t made any plans to start soon. I’m too tired right now 😂 I’ve never tried to do it until almost 3 though- I don’t have enough patience. 🤦🏼♀️

flamingo and guster I haven't asked, but I will next time. She asked me if she could take evie to another friends house and I said no, because I don't know the parents. She said okay and left. I watched her and she walked across the street, when no one answered there, she went up the block and turned on the next street. So I really believe her parents have NO clue where she ever is. Here's something else weird that I've noticed everytime she comes to our door, and H has noticed from the Ring (he's been out of town since Monday)...she grabs her crotch everytime. Its weird. She has never asked to use the bathroom and she doesn't do it when she's inside, but while shes standing at the door, she has her hand there.

You must have good snacks. mwhip Maybe when her parents refuse to give her any more snacks she seeks them out at other people’s (your) house. Just read your other response. Totally weird- all of it. Way to go L! wineallthetime

I can't imagine letting my first grader just roam the neighborhood like that mwhip. It's one thing if you know they're going across the street to the neighbor's, but just pinballing from house to house depending on who's home (or not) is way, way outside my comfort zone. It sounds like you are, but I hope you'll keep an eye on her. How does she look? Clean, well-kept (clothed appropriately, etc)? Holding herself could be an anxiety/nervous thing (thanks, dr. google). I mean, I'm sure it could be other things but that would be my first thought, and hopefully it's just something simple like that.

I’ve been having consistent contractions since 3pm... I only just started timing them about an hour ago and right now they’re lasting about a minute but they’re still 8-10 minutes apart. We went and bought a new exercise ball so I’m bouncing on that and eating pineapple.

flamingo she has always been wearing cute clothes and isn't dirty. I've never noticed more bruises or anything, than a 6yr old would have. I think she may just have lazy parents who feel like nothing bad could happen in our neighborhood. I told H I want us both to go over there this weekend and introduce ourselves and he was good with that.

He’ll fall asleep eventually.

Hi girls.
Sorry I haven't updated. It's been kind of hectic. They gave me meds last night and have me starting partial hospitalization, which means I'll be there during the day for 4-6 weeks.
I know what the impetus was and this is definitely what I need, but my FMLA ran out when I was on maternity leave. So I have no job protections, and that is a major source of stress ATM. I'm not sure what I can do. HR has put me out on STD, But they can still fire me.

It sounds like a scary lawsuit they wouldn’t want in their hands, KWIM? How long during the day would you be there? Is it possible to switch to a part time schedule in the meantime?

I'm thinking of offering that but the program thinks I need to be written off work completely so I have time to get myself better and not rush to the hospital, rush home to work, etc. I tend to agree.
