Hey. H had school this morning and while she was there S and I just hung out at home. I actually fell asleep on the couch for a little bit accidentally. Nothing planned for this afternoon. This evening is the service for my friend’s dad. I asked my sister to watch the girls but she never got back to me, so I’ll have to text her again. cheeksmum sorry N has such a hard time with drop off.

cheeksmum that is so hard to see our babies cry for us. Is there something you could give him to rub or touch when he feels scared or sad? I think someone mentioned a safety pin

tgrimes That is such a sweet story. It's kind of nice that you guys have so much history together. Also, I did not know/remember you were divorced. I know the feeling of being "put off" of men after that. H must have been a good one to catch your eye 😉 Yeah, I got married shortly after college. Looking back, I was incredibly dumb and put up with his shenanigans for entirely way too long. I caught him in little lies here and there but he was a salesman who could talk his way out of anything. He wanted to wait 5 years to start a family. When that 5 years was up he all of a sudden didn't want kids. I started to get a bit suspicious about a few things and then caught him in several lies. I held onto that information for awhile. Our last fight I laid everything out on the table. He tried to talk his way out of it but my investigative/sneaky skills were too much for him. I'm 99% sure he was cheating, although I couldn't prove it. I mean, spending the night at MD Anderson with a new workout buddy that you won't give me the last name of is completely normal, right? He told me he wanted a divorce over text message. Good times.

I was woken up early this morning to Giovanna coming into my room and telling me there was a frog in the house. Lol. I got it into a box and took it outside.... couldn’t live my life knowing there was a frog lurking somewhere in my house.
My mom left today. So I’m back on my own 💆🏼♀️ I miss my friends. It’s going to take a while to find a new friend crew. Especially when I’m not working. I have no problem putting myself out there usually- it’s just finding the opportunity. Anyways- poor me. Haha. I’ll stop complaining now. 🤭

tgrimes I was just reading the blinds and saw how you posted that you re-met your H at your reunion. Out of curiosity, were you guys friends in high school who reconnected? Or was it like meeting new? So like do you have tons of mutual friends from back in the day? I don't know why I'm curious about it, but I am. We've known each other since the 3rd grade. He had his friend (who ended up being his best man) ask me out for him in the 5th grad and I said no. We were always friends growing up so yes, we have a few mutual friends. We were in the same group at prom and he picked me up the night before to go party at the beach house we got. We slept on the same couch because I didn't trust the other guys. During our senior trip to Cancun he and another one of his friends kept a close eye on me & my friend. They made sure we never went anywhere alone and they even spent the night in our room one night because of some shady dudes we met. I hadn't seen him since our senior trip when I saw him at the reunion. It definitely made it easier to start dating since we'd already known each other, especially since I was recently divorced and was ready to shun men for awhile. I read this to A. He said "dude got friend zoned hard!" Lol.

xolastunicornxo I can understand you being concerned about L, but I feel like adults judge people far more than kids do. I think it's great that you get there early and explain everything to his teammates first. Kids usually just want to understand. He's such a great kid that once people understand him, I'm sure it's easy to love him! Remind me... how old is he?

joelies I'm glad to hear E isn't the only one who can't remember the names of the kids she sat next to. I asked her yesterday and she didn't remember. I told her to call me when she was done today, and that I specifically wanted to know the names of her new friends...she still didn't have a name for me. She did remember the name of one of the boys in her class, I couldn't understand what she was saying. She explained his name to me as 'you know at Christmas, when you've been a bad boy, it's what Santa puts in your stocking!' Coal? 'Yes, Cole!'

They sent home a outline of a kid to decorate with their interests and they're going to learn their classmates names next week I guess.

+eleventy, B also cannot remember his classmates' names (he gets that from DH--I guarantee at this age I was preparing my mother dossiers with first/middle/last names, interests, who misbehaved, who wore what, what they had for lunch, etc. ) He seemed to have a great day; the first thing out of his mouth was, "I made some new friends!" Too bad they are all nameless, lol. I started reflecting today that by the time B starts first grade back in FL, he will have attended 5 different schools in 5 years. Kind of makes me feel guilty, but such is military life, I guess. Of my two children, B is slightly more reserved and tends to be shy at first, so I do think these experiences will help him grow. And he is the most flexible, easy-going little guy, which is probably due to all the change. I hate that he is always one of the newbies, but at least here there are usually lots of other new kids with the military population. Deep thoughts for a Wednesday!

Second critter in my house today: LIZARD 🦎
Does anyone remember how much they freak me out? This one CLIMBED ON MY ARM while I was cleaning up all the kids shoes off the floor. I screamed like a little B 🤭
Fortunately, I was able to sweep him in the same box that I got the frog in this morning and get him outside. Currently feeling traumatized.

O had a great first day. He literally squealed with delight when he jumped off the school bus. He told me he was calendar helper today but i asked my friends to ask their kids who was calendar helper and they named a different kid. 🙄

I'm so sick of everytime I differ an opinion with A in regards to the kids he acts like I'm undermining his parenting.

Glad everyone had a good day at school today.
Check back in later.

So much for needing just a half size bigger shoe. I went to Skechers and I couldn't get her into any of those damn shoes. Ended up at a specialty kids shoe store and they were super helpful and knowledgeable. We'll be going there for our future shoes even after the braces are done. Oh and her size went from an 11 to a 13.
