Am I the only one waking up to pump if LO is sttn? Lol- not a problem I’ve ever had as DS is up at least once if not more MOTN. Same. F usually is up at 1-2 and then again at 5-6, up for the day at 8

Probably 1-2 times a week we get a 2-3am wake up then 5ish. Last night I was up 4 times. I miss maternity leave 💤

Last night I was up 4 times. I miss maternity leave 💤 Yes, lately we've been up about every 2 hours. Of course it started right when I went back to work. I do think L isn't eating enough at daycare; he's only taking about 8 ounces of BM over the course of about 8 hours. He's doing a full feed every time he wakes up overnight, so I've been trying to feed him a lot during the evenings (I do notice he sleeps better when I manage to do this). I may ask the DCP to offer bottles more often too.

chrisy01, I pump right before I go to bed and first thing when I wake up in the morning to avoid waking up in the middle of the night to pump.

When he tries to wake up earlier I just snuggle with him and he usually falls back asleep. The few times he won't, we just lay quietly until it's closer to 8 and then get up.

Is there anywhere you could bring it?! Generator? We don’t have a generator but I’m thinking if we loose power long I will try to find someone to take it for Me. My plan rn is to load the freezer with frozen milk jugs and just keep the freezer shut. I hope it’s good enough

I saw something about putting the bags into gallon bags and then adding water and freezing them. I also read to put the frozen in the washer and add ice and keep it closed.

My solo trip went really well, I was pleasantly surprised. Both kids behaved on the plane, the trip was fun, and we made it back in one piece. I don't want to do it again anytime soon, though.

kiri hope the work/school transition is as easy as possible! Thanks! My 3 year old got on the school bus for the first time...it happened so fast that I didn’t even get a kiss or hug. I have one more day of semi freedom and then back to work on Friday. Waaah

Am I the only one waking up to pump if LO is sttn? I don’t have the STTN problem but I have a very loud sleeper. If DS2 is fussing about earlier than his usual wake up, I might pump with a hand pump since I’m too awake by the time I realize that he’s not going to get back up.

So we are going to get hit with this hurricane and I’m nervous about loosing power because i have almost 500 oz of BM in the freezer 😩. What would y’all do? Is this a deep freezer / chest freezer, I’m guessing? Generator? Dry ice? You want the milk in the center of the freezer away from the walls/lid. You want as little empty space in the freezer as possible- best case scenario you fill any empty space with containers of water so they freeze and help maintain the temperature when power goes out. And/or dry ice. No opening the freezer once power is out- so if you’re going to need some of that expressed milk during the storm, best to find another place to keep it. I’d put a piece of duct tape holding the freezer shut to remind everyone not to open it. kellymom.com/hot-topics/frozen-milk-power-outage/“According to the USDA, “a full freezer will hold the temperature for approximately 48 hours (24 hours if it is half full) if the door remains closed.””

birkmmm, also put a cup of frozen water with a coin on top of it in the freezer. When you open the freezer again if the coin has fallen through the cup then the temps got too warm since the ice melted. Even if the water refroze over the coin, you know that it got too warm in there.

Why is my child awake, complaining, and practicing his karate moves at almost 2 am? I only slept 5 hours last night and then spent all day running around. I'm tired kid!

Just saw this mentioned in an infant feeding safety group’s post “Advice has circulated to protect frozen human milk stashes by placing quart bags filled with smaller bags of milk into larger bags filled with cold water and then freezing them solid. We do NOT recommend this method as field tests have shown that the milk bags thaw in the cold water before re-freezing.” I never would have thought of that possibility 😱😩maybe if double freezing fill the bags with ice instead of cold water? /

L is finally taking a pacifier 🙌🏻. It’s helping in the car and I just tried it when he started fussing for his first wake up of the night and he went back to sleep. I’m SO happy that we now have this in our list of strategies.

So far it’s not too bad. Strongest part will be here tonight. It’s the wind and downed trees I’m mostly concerned with. We still have power. I’m moving both kids into our room tonight which is furthest room away from the trees

Were good so far ... We also will get the worst part later today. We still have power for now though! Thankfully we have no big trees near our house

So DD is on a decent night sleep schedule--however BARELY naps during the day. She dozes and cat naps still. However, we had to hire a nanny so I could go back to work for health insurance....but her night sleep is awesome--except for one thing. She wants to go to bed for the night at 6:30....the same time DD1's activities start. And DH doesn't get home until 6:45.
But most nights she falls asleep around 6:45, then sleeps until about 2, wakes up around 6 and goes back to sleep until 8:30.
