Explain the play makeup. Is it just plastic? Like no color is left on the kid's face?

Ideas for non toy gifts? My in-laws like to do more practical gifts, but physical gifts the kids can open so no money in the college fund type thing. Last year they did luggage, booster, clothes, winter coat, sheets for C. L got sheets, sound machine and humidifier for her new room, clothes, luggage. Not sure what to suggest this year other than clothes and diapers/formula for A. I’ve started telling people pajamas. I don’t think kids can have too many of them, and sometimes they’re more fun to open than clothes because they can be a little “wackier” than daily wear. Robes and slippers work too with the colder months ahead

We don't do a lot of gifts since we pretty much spoil them all year round... but here is my list for both birthday/ holiday from us as well as what I've requested from grandparents. He wants a pet - we are going to start small, with a fish zoobs link - his teacher says he plays with these a lot at school and he loves them. Grandparents 1 got him a giant box of random legos, and some board games. Grandparents 2 I think are getting him walkie talkies He's having a lego themed birthday so I assume he will get tons of legos from his friends He also went through the target catalog and circled a ton of stuff. But I can't remember what. I'll have to look at it when I get home.

We just got a giant US map and a corkboard and we are putting pins in it for everywhere we have visited (and everywhere MH travels). It has been a HUGE hit and S loves to look at it and spell various letters to me to look up the town. Books are always good for practical gifts.

Anybody have any of the fur real friends? Never mind. I just ordered one. I hope I don’t regret the noises it makes Teehee. C fell in love with the dog last year and I ALMOST bought him, until I read the reviews—apparently lots of bathroom humor out of that particular friend. Other ones may be different though!

There is a specific one that does just poop. The dog comes with a pooper scooper. No, thank you.

Thanks but no thanks!

Last year a friend gave Colin an ice block mold, a snowball maker, and a snowman mold for his birthday. HUGE hits! We couldn't get off the deck much last year because the snow was so deep and we still had a blast with those toys. Rereading this thread. Why have I not thought about sending the kids out on the deck to play with snow!? I love going out with them, but the deck will be perfect for the big 2 while I'm inside doing other things!

I've come up with a few new ideas.
C: snow scooter (may have mentioned this), hatchamals, science kit (any recommendations? He loves to do "experiences" aka experiments), bath bombs with surprise toy in them
L: cabbage patch kids bath baby, hatchamals, surprise egg bath bombs

They want to shop (they're big on getting the best deals) and have something for them to unwrap. Even if it's clothes the kids don't care about, it's something to open. I don't mean that to sound snarky, I'm all about the clothes and practical gifts. They're just a bit more particular about things. They're also definitely a quantity over quality type ic that makes sense, and my family is very different. ETA: they're very generous. Just trying to say they're not the type to but an anywhere chair or more of a big ticket item.

I'm thinking M's big gift with be this. He's wanted it forever! And I have a 25% off coupon to target and it's $10 off right now so I think I'll get it and put it up. I'm just afraid it'll go cheaper for black Friday. I think J's big gift will be a bike. M has a chase bike and I've seen marshal ones but J requested a rubble one.. I've never seen a rubble bike. www.target.com/p/fisher-price-imaginext-jurassic-world-jurassic-rex/-/A-52711414

Thank you! I may get it but it might be a bit advanced for him. My neighbor has this one and it is a bit with the bigger kids. I'd start with the $15 ones jcp and Kohl's have. It's hard to get the different directions to control at this age and if they break or get stuck in a tree it's less of a big deal. This link is more for pro intro drone use

I’m a sucker for a deal. I may gift it to my 11yo nephew though.
