Given the amount of people that come to ds’ birthday I need so much more...

L loves playing with my old American Girl dolls because she likes the "big babies" over baby dolls. I think I might get her some of the Our Generation stuff from Target for Christmas.

We've done others like this (not the Smithsonian brand, but similar) and B loves them. I added that volcano one to my list, he is fascinated with them right now. Thanks! Oh, C would love that! Adding to my list. |

tgrimes B had a workbench like what you described for H (maybe the same one...Black & Decker?) and its been a hit. He got it for Christmas the year we turned 2. He and C both still play with it. I am kinda ready to get rid of it, esp. if C gets the toy kitchen for Christmas as planned, but I feel like the tyrants would mutiny.

Ok, now *I'm* talking to myself (not terribly unusual). Whoever said sleds and snow shovels--great idea. I don't know that we want to invest in legit sleds, but maybe those plastic disc things or something like that in case we get as much snow this year as we did last (I'm sure if I buy all the gear, toys, etc., we won't get any. You're welcome, Virginia) Now adding snow toys.. like the snow ball makers and igloo maker things. |

The MagnaTiles continue to be popular here. I haven't seen them on anyone's lists yet but both my kids love them. We might add some of those, or more likely farm that idea out to a relative b/c it's easy.

I wish, but he really wants a REAL fish that he can feed. Of course. What was I thinking. I had a fish named Ruben when I was around HS age. I really liked him but it is the biggest lie that fish are easy pets. Maintaining the tank takes work or you have to spend $$$ to get a more self-sufficient tank. Will not ever get fish. |

I have given this idea very little thought.
Charlie is all dinosaurs and legos all the time right now.
Josie is tougher —she has requested a jewelry box, filled up. I bought a bunch of cute fruit and nautical jewelry on Gymboree’s latest sale
I think I want to get her a spirodoodle, as well.
I think I will do sleds, and maybe one of those L.L. Bean make a snowman kits.

I got these for a lot cheaper (maybe around $17?) but this is the Belle one and we also have an Ariel one. Cass also has a Spirit one. Amazon also has very good prices on ballerina ones. I got one as a birthday gift for one of Cass' classmates and it was a big hit. |

At the last birthday party we are at the kid got a ukulele and Josie went nuts for it. I may add that in to my new ever-growing list. Colin's a little cold on them right now but I see them as one of those few items that have a longer lifespan. As he gets more coordinated, learns about geometry, etc., he'll turn to them again. |

Last year a friend gave Colin an ice block mold, a snowball maker, and a snowman mold for his birthday. HUGE hits! We couldn't get off the deck much last year because the snow was so deep and we still had a blast with those toys.

I thought of another thing, B needs a new golf bag. My dad got him new clubs while we were in Maine because we forgot to bring his from home (clearly Papa is a softie), but the new ones are bigger so a larger bag is required.
C can inherit the old bag and clubs, I guess.
