Arrived at the haircut place 10 min after they opened, there’s already an hour and 15 min. wait 😳 Heading to Target to kill some time.

You guys. I just bought some Minecraft toys off a yard sale Facebook site. I opened it when I got home and it it is is a bunch of pixelated little cardboard boxes. She said there was little people and stuff in it..... nothing. Everything in it was cardboard boxes. I just threw it in the recycling. It’s weird to because I was making conversation with her and she works with my neighbor two houses down turns out... so like.... did she not think she was ripping me off?? I’m annoyed.

It seemed like telling him that everyone is worried about their first day, even teachers, made him a little more comfortable.

for B it's the fear of the unknown and the constant 'are you excited' from everyone that comes in contact with him that has him hesitant to say 'yes' lately.  I've cooled down on making it a big deal, even though in my head I'm so excited and proud that he's going to kinder already

Morning all.

Last night was good, the kids were good and went to sleep like little rockstars. MH says that he is going to make some changes cause he doesnt like how things are going with his moods. Not sure what that means, but it's progress that he's noticing and coming up with possible solutions. I'll be keeping the Mars ticket in my back pocket but, for today, it's fine.

That sucks! I’m sorry. It’s so hard when you have a dr you like and trust. When Sierra’s 1st neurologist was leaving (she was a fellow/resident at the teaching hospital, was graduating, and moving on to her “real job”) she told me in the office one day, I started crying. Lol. But she was amazing and so caring and helped us navigate the beginning of our epilepsy journey. I love the neurologist we have now too, but it’s not the same. I’m sure he will give you some good recommendations for a new dr.

mwhip, I don't recall, is she starting K or PreK? I agree with what everyone else said, S has been in the same school since 12 weeks old and he still struggles in new situations. I actually have the opposite concern... he is SO comfortable at his DC, with his classmates, teachers, etc, that it's going to be such a dramatic change when he does start K, I feel like I should have exposed him to more things outside of that (ie even when we do classes like sports, swimming, etc, we do them with his little group of DC friends).

MH left this morning! I gave him a big kiss and hug, and then stood on the porch and waved as he pulled out the drive while smiling ear to ear. Lol. Freedom!

S and I are headed to STL to get her EKG. FX for good results so we can make some med adjustments. We are meeting my dad for lunch beforehand. I left him up to picking where so hopefully he chooses something good! My mom can’t come because she volunteers at the school that my sister teaches at on Tuesdays. Then we will drive back home tonight. So it will be a long day!

I did with this pregnancy. I was tired all the time and no matter how much sleep I got I just felt like I ran a marathon. I was already eating food high in iron so I took iron pills 3 times a day.

Hi all, not much new here except MH passed level 3 of the CFA🎉🙌. It's taken way too long for this and we are both in shock. What a relief! Every spring this dominated every weekend for years so he could study. Going to buy some champagne shortly to celebrate tonight!

mskatiep, I had to take iron pills while pregnant with L. I was exhausted, but I was also exhausted during my pregnancy with A and was in bed at like 7:30pm. Being pregnant while you have other kids at home is no joke.

Fitbit said my period would start in 2 days. SURPRISE! It lied. It was today. And I just realized there is a hole in my jeans. Damn thighs. Now to decide if I go up in size for this next pair or stick to my same size. I feel like I will feel very defeated if I go up a size....choices choices.

Sorry, I’m being a PW today. But I forgot to tell you guys about a possible job opportunity I have. I’ve been weighing the pros and cons...but I think I’m going to apply. Same agency, different division. The supervisor of the other job approached me about it. I didn’t even know it was going to be a vacant position soon.

Current job: GS6 subject to furlough (I get laid off for 2-3 months every winter) - supervisory role. I supervise 7-10 seasonal employees. I have a lot of freedoms with this job. I make my own schedule, office is 7 miles from my house, boss is an hour away. Quite a bit of field work, so I’m not tied to a desk. I get to be out and about in the park and helping visitors. MH and I have the same days off. I run my program, with a little oversight from my chief, but it’s my program (fee management).

Job possibly: GS7 permanent full time...year round! Not a supervisory position, a support role. It’s in the resource division, with the fire management group. Doing a lot to travel prep and timekeeping for firefighters, as well as managing the budget. Stuck to the office more, which is an hour away from home. But could work remote from my current office a few days a week. Will have different days off from MH. A lot of opportunity for overtime (🤑).

My thoughts: I love the idea of not getting laid off every year! Plus it’s more money. MH and I having opposite days off is one area I’m torn on. Although I gripe a lot (and currently) about too much togetherness...I will be missing out on some fun in the summer when he’s taking the boat to the lake or going to the river. The job, although is not a supervisory position sounds a lot more demanding as far as tasks. They aren’t going to advertise it for a bit yet. So I still have time to mull it over...but I’m thinking of applying and hopeful for something new! And I feel like I’d have a decent shot since the guy who will be hiring approached me about it.

That’s amazing!! I Remember when dh studied for that, it was brutal!! Get two bottles of champagne... or three (1 for each test!!)

lfig how big of an issue of the money? Honestly your first job sound so idea to me, and it sounds like you get to have fun and be with your dh. It also seems like this job is very flexible, and I imagine being able to set your own hours with S’s medical appointments is a big relief. But I know you don’t like being laid off, and it would be hard to say no to extra money.

I imagine that was not helpful at all! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Thanks guys. I'm not normally one to bitch about pregnancy. I don't particularly like it, but I generally don't mind. This exhaustion just feels over the top. Especially since Layla is pretty easy these days. I'm going to talk to my MW about iron pills, I'm lucky if I can manage to eat once a day, so I don't want to depend on managing it with diet.

Lucas’s fever was gone and he said he felt fine, but I still dosed him with some Tylenol and sent him on his way. Crossing everything I don’t get a call from the school. I’m so tired from C’s early wake up but I did BBM and an ab workout and I’m going to head out and do a quick (and probably easy!) gym workout! I need to go to target and get Lucas and Landon shirts for school pictures this week. And then I see a large coffee in my future!!

flamingo your post is reminding me how much I hate character lunch boxes. Don't get me wrong, my kids have them too, but every time I pack a lunch I side eye them. I really had to reign myself in and not order the matching lunch boxes to the PB backpacks I got them. I *suppose* they should be able to pick something they like even if I don't, and at least I don't have to look at them in the backpack.

But seriously, why are they so ugly??? Like why can't they make them in more subdued colors and graphics like the princess shoes that tgrimes posted the other day? I don't get it.

sands42 That is really weird about your neighbor. Is it possible she had her kid get his toys together or something? I mean, I still would have checked before selling them, of course, but maybe you could let her know. I would be mortified if that happened and I didn't know for some reason.

Lol! We do just fine financially right now. But we are both spenders. So we don’t have a very good savings established. When I’m laid off, we can still pay the bills, but things are definitely tight. And I don’t like that feeling. The flexibility of my current job is definitely nice! But I got the impression that it wouldn’t be a big deal with the other job to take off when I need or want to. As long as it wasn’t during peak fire season.

I hate most character items, unless are subdued like those shoes, or I like some of the more retro looking ones.
