Just bought tickets for Cadence and myself to see Christopher Robin this Sunday. We were supposed to go with my mom, but she cancelled, so I bought tickets for just me and my girl.

Let me know how it is. I'd like to see it but I'm not sure if M will be interested or not. Has C ever watched winnie the pooh stuff?

She saw the trailer and said she wanted to see it...though, she may just want the box of M&Ms and vanilla milkshake from the drafthouse.

What river are you going to? We are doing pretty good. Of course there are stretches of our rivers that are “thinner” and not prime for floating right now. But we also have stretches that are plenty floatable. Whoever you are renting from should have a pretty good idea of the good stretches. They typically won’t put you in their equipment on an area that is too low because they don’t want their stuff tore up. You definitely shouldn’t have to worry about them being too up. Although we’ve had some good rain, we were sooo dry that it’s not been an issue. We are floating the Niangua river. We usually have a few places we have to walk the raft through each year, I'm just hoping it will not be the whole darn way this year since it was so dry. The float already takes all day as the river is not fast at all. I just don't want it to end up torturous.... especially with me being sober this year lol. Ok - that’s a little ways from us so I don’t know much about that river. I was hoping you were coming to one of our rivers! Jacks Fork or Current River.

Nice! Yes, it's gorgeous out here, but warming up. Supposed to be back in the 90s over the weekend. Not delightful. We have an Athleta store here (we may have had one in FL, I just avoided the mall where that stuff would be like the plague) but I've never been in. I should probably check it out. It's pricey, but they have some decent sales (and carry tall!). It's probably more athleisure than your typical style, but they have some cute stuff that is pretty neutral to be dressed up or down. I think the Lululemon head designer went there and did wonders for them. Someday I'm going to get some athleisure wear and be like all the other moms at preschool, LOL. I did buy new Nikes recently--the ones er'body has--so I'm halfway there, right?!

Busy morning! I had preschool parent meeting at 9, where I found out I had to individually label each of H’s crayons and markers. Not impressed, but it’s done.

Well X scored super high for avoiding vestibular processing and seeking oral, and tactile input.
Harumph.

I'm supposed to start labeling all of H's diapers for daycare... Diapers I can kind of see, depending on the storage system (still annoying, for sure), but individual crayons and markers seems excessive. I am all about ease at this age...I think both our preschools have just had communal art supplies; I can't even remember now if we had to bring stuff like that as part of the supply list. It's usually stuff like ziplock bags, Clorox wipes, and Kleenex. We haven't gotten our supply lists OR labeling instructions for our new school yet (I imagine that will be next week at orientation) so hopefully I will not be eating my words and labeling tissues or whatnot next week

That’s why I’m confused why I have to label them individually. I don’t have to bring anything except diapers, food & snacks. They even supply the baby wipes.

The teacher said it’s because they all have their own pencil box with markers and crayons. It’s easier for them to tell who it belongs to if it’s labeled.

My co-floaters are creatures of habit. We go the same time each year, same campground, even same campsites if possible lol.

Guess I'm officially old...it's 8:45 and I've been in bed for a half hour, with my pjs on, face moisturized, and teeth brushed. Just have to let the dog out at 10 one last time and I can crash.

I’m late to the discussion but I don’t think kids that young should be walking dogs alone. They may be able to handle their dog but if another dog came over even with the owner and got snappy, a child would not know how to handle that and could get injured. Also if the dog bolts or something that’s another chance for injury.
I would t call CPS.
There was a little girl when we lived in Boston that would walk her dogs and she had no control over them and it was a mess. She also never picked up the poop.

Well X scored super high for avoiding vestibular processing and seeking oral, and tactile input. Harumph. I think I understand the oral and tactile input, but what is it mean to avoid vestibular processing? I’m not goldi...but this is one of S’s biggest challenges that contributes to her struggles. Vestibular input is the sensation of any change in position, direction, or movement of the head. Vestibular input gives our bodies information about whether we are moving with or against gravity, fast or slow, moving or still, and what direction we're headed. It contributes to the development of muscle tone, righting reactions, balance, postural security, eye movements, overall alertness. Vestibular dysfunction can also manifest with difficulties tracking, focusing, and smoothly looking between two objects. So in S’s case, her spacial awareness is pretty much non existent. Poor balance and coordination, lacks focus, poor muscle tone, eye movements are affected. She’s pretty much a textbook case. I’m going to assume X is mildly affected, based on goldi’s observations. But OT can definitely be helpful in providing strategies to help give him the input he needs. Also cagoldi I’m sorry that you are adding another thing to your plate. Lots of hugs. But it’s good to find these things this early, as should be easier to get on it now to minimize the affect it has on him long term.

lfig, thank you for explaining it to me. So vestibular processing is one of those senses beyond the five traditional senses? I never knew what it was called.

My dog is on my shit list tonight. When I went to feed him he was so excited and as I bent over to dump food in his bowl he jumped up and his hard ass head knocked me in the mouth and my teeth went into my lip, resulting in lots of blood and now a fat lip. Little asshole.

I’ve tried pushing bedtime back, but she still wakes at the same time. So we stick with the 7:15 bedtime. She needs the sleep because when she doesn’t get enough she has more seizures. I’m counting down the days till vacation in oct when I will have 2 glorious weeks of sleeping in!!
