Good morning. The baby was up 3 times last night. I was... not amused.

sweptaway I’ll spoiler it. It was really weird when I touched it. And when I dropped it, it bounced. So weird.

I need to up the chickens’ Calcium. She went from laying super hard shelled eggs to a naked egg this morning. It was seriously the weirdest thing ever. Are you mixing it in with their food? When we had chickens, we just put it in their old chick feeders and they *usually* didn't knock it over... Actually, she had been laying really thick shelled eggs so I hadn’t worried about it. She just started laying in the last couple of weeks but like I said, the shells were thick and hard so I assumed she was getting enough from her diet. I toss the scratch on the ground so I guess I’ll just do that with the oyster shells too. They free range and get a lot of table scraps (lettuce, egg shells, tomatoes, and even some watermelon last night)

Pistol, is she young and relatively new to laying? I remember our friends getting a lot of weird eggs when they first start laying before they get the hang of it. Shell-less eggs, too much shell, etc., they were all over the place for a little while.

Thank you for not making me feel a way about sending DS to school! In my head I know he's fine, but it does still look a little pitiful, so it was playing with my heart!

Pistol, I used to throw the oyster shells and grit on the ground of their run and also had a small rubber ground feeder of the shells out as well, for them to pick at. I miss having chickens.

Are car lines regional? Or just something I'm not aware of because my kid isn't school-aged? I hadn't heard of them where I grew up - everyone took the bus. But here, you have to walk or take the city bus/metro unless you fit some special circumstances. A lot of people walk/bus/metro, but some schools will have a car line a very specific process (enter near X Street and exit near Y Street) because traffic here is crazy enough without adding school car lines. In the more suburban school districts I've worked with outside the city, they are split between parking and car line with teachers greeting students at the cars. Parking means you need to have more than just staff parking available, and car line cuts down on accidents in the parking lot or situations where a parent drops the kid off but the kid doesn't walk in the building. The only pattern I've noticed is if a school has a lot of students walking from nearby houses/apartments, they will not have a car line.

Hi, I'm new here. I live in upstate NY with my DH and 2 DDs who are 5 and 2. I was part of the SAHM board on TheDump and after all the banning, we moved to DWP on GBCN, but the board sort of died anyway and I just kept up with everyone on FB. A few weeks ago I was put on bed rest, went and checked the old board and yep- still dead. I hope you'll have me. I like nerdy stuff, outdoorsy stuff, musical theater, arts and crafts... I don't drink much because of my illness but I very much enjoy spending time in the garage (am I using that right?) Hi and welcome! (im also upstate!)

It took me longer than it should've to sort out how to use the delayed start feature on my InstantPot this morning. I'm still not sure I used it right - probably a 50% chance I come home to a room temperature pot of pork.

Morning! I worked out this morning. Now I’m having a cup of coffee while the baby naps. My sitter should be here soon. I’m kid-free for the day! Plan is Saks, grocery shopping and pedicure if there’s enough time.

Just went to a chocolate museum with my mom and now we're shopping together. I love having her here so much! The one in Cologne? No in Hamburg. That's where I live. Most beautiful city in Germany .

We got them the weekend before Easter. So whatever that works out to be. lol

I grew up downstate, so I feel like I am always adjusting to things around here.

I'm enjoying my coffee for now, then it's off the run a few errands with the a 3 year old. Should only take a few extra hours with him wanting to touch everything he sees. Maybe he won't cuss at anyone today. fosterlove, congratulations on the home purchase! Pistol, thanks for showing a pic. That's pretty neat to see. I cannot wait to have chickens when we finally move out of suburbia.

No in Hamburg. That's where I live. Most beautiful city in Germany . One of these days, H and I want to go to Germany. I haven’t decided where all we want to hit while we’re there though. I want to see a few towns that I was able to trade back ancestors to and things like that. My great grandpa’s side was actually from Poland though so we might just jump all over. 😂

I don’t think we can skip carline. The only mention of walking kids to the door is if you are late.

Germany is beautiful and very compact (I'm near the top and can drive through to the bottom in about 8 hrs). So it's easy to visit a lot of beautiful and interesting towns. If you ever make it over you're basically guaranteed to have an amazing time!
