Someone put these next to each other at the farmers market, so apparently now I'm making strawberry shortcake.

We test drove a car last night and I think MH wants to go back and buy it. There's nothing wrong with our current car so I'm trying to resist. Other than that we've got to do laundry, clean, and hit the grocery store. Thrilling! It's going to be 100 degrees here today.

We're in the mountains for a wedding. The girls are going to be running on adrenaline and very little sleep. On the upside, the view at the venue is gorgeous

I'm getting a pedicure right now. It's amazing.
No big plans today and we are happy leftovers for dinner so hopefully an easy day. I have to figure out something for Father's Day though.

I've got a houseful this weekend. It's hot. My kid is having a blast playing with my cousin's kid who is his age, and M is "playing" with another cousin's kid who is just a month older.

We were supposed to go into the city today to meet up with SIL and BIL but everyone has colds. There are enough logistics when everyone is healthy that I'm not willing to do it with 3 grumpy kids. So, we're heading out for a walk then to our little local zoo. It's close enough that if they all fall apart, we can come right home.

Just hanging around. We're working on potty training but then she fell asleep at noon and woke with a 102 fever. Her best school friends bday party is this afternoon so now it's pretty questionable.
I just weeded the garden and need to go grocery shopping too.

And now DH is heading to help some friends. His buddy is having a back spasm and needs to go to ER. So he's helping him to the car and bringing their 2yo back to our house while his wife drives him to hospital.

charlotte my parents are here and I'm thoroughly enjoying watching my dad search through 500 channels for Fox News, which is blocked I'm cracking up. He found some other random OAN news network though that looks just as questionable.

C and I just moved an entire screen printing set up in to our basement 😳
Tonight we are going to a fundraiser event. "Pork and Cork". A pig roast where all the locals who make wine and brew their own beer come out and do tastings. Plus yummy dinner, the profits all go back as scholarships for local seniors, and, best of all, no kids!

Had a great day before father's day with my parents. We went to a little petting zoo and ice cream place then watched a star trek documentary now I'm avoiding getting ready for bedtime since dh won't be home until after we are all in bed... and the kids took way too late naps...

The first cold brew of the season (with a touch of maple syrup) alongside the first cherry tomatoes and first strawberries of the season. Bliss.

I have hand foot and mouth, so my household is barely functioning. Babies are mostly better, and h appears to be immune.
I've been applying to jobs for a while now and have set up a phone interview for one I applied to last night. I'm excited to have an interview because I have to get out of my current job.
Hi! Ray of sunshine over here.

My mil planned a several hour canoe river trip for father's day, and I seem to be the only person who sees potential issue with taking a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old in the canoe for that long on the river... the place even has a rule no children under 5, but since we have our own canoe I'm pretty sure dh will say it doesn't matter... I'm getting way too worked up over this, but I think I've decided I just have to say I'm staying home with the kids. I would love to take them canoeing on a lake, where we are close to shore in standing water and can get in and out as needed... am I crazy to be nervous about a four hour trip on moving water?

sassyq I think this is something I would be iffy about too. Mostly it just doesn't sound very fun/realistic to expect a 1 & 3 y/o to sit still on their bottoms on hard canoe seats for that long. Last time we went canoeing (no kids) we flipped our canoe, our stuff was floating away, my cousin slipped and fell on the rocks on the bottom of the river... so maybe I'm biased lol.

Crying at a wedding reception because A is exhausted, had an epic meltdown, fell asleep in my arms around her normal bedtime, then woke up an hour later just as cranky. Everything makes get upset, nothing helps, and I never got a picture with MH looking so handsome in his tux and me in my dress. The wedding was perfect and the it's beautiful out, but the last hour or so has sucked. Oh, and my period started today, so all.the.hormones... Sorry, whiny rant to Internet friends over.

We've been under a tornado watch for the last 2 hours. Candles and cards tonight! I think it's moved past us now with nothing touching down.
We have no solid plans for tomorrow except for bacon and eggs for breakfast.

Yeah no. I have a (almost) 1 year old and a 3 year old and I would not take them on a several hour canoe ride. My 3 yo would definitely not stay seated for that long and my 1 yo is too interested in moving on her own to stay contained. The canoe place has the age rule for a reason. Listen to it.

We took R out last summer (at 2) along with friends and their 3 and 5 y/o boys. The younger 2 could do about 30-45 minutes as long as snacks are provided. Then we stopped, played on shore for a while and went back. Four hours would be a huge no. And keeping a 1 y/o still? Not even possible. Sounds like a nightmare. Find a small lake or pond to go out on and pack a picnic lunch or something.

sassyq uhh you are not crazy. No way would I want to be stuck in a canoe with my 3 year old. Plus what would you do with the one year old? Omg. No way in hell would I be participating in that.

We dropped my relatives off this morning at the airport and did some shopping as a family, then this evening went to a birthday party for one of DH's extended relatives. It was really fun as this relative is from my hometown and I went to school with his grandkids. One of which has a daughter O's age. The kids had a blast playing and I spent the evening marvelling at what a small world it really is.

Forcing medicine into a kid at 130 am is always a good time.
It took 45 minutes. Just dandy. Why doesn't my kid ever just do what I ask.
