DH and I (and a few other people) got invited to visit a friend in a town about an hour and a half away on Saturday. While there we would be visiting some new local breweries, so the kiddo can't come. Our only option for childcare is MIL & FIL, who watch DD all day every day while we work. They said they would watch her, but I feel bad dropping her off there for what will be a 10 hour day, after they have watched her all week.
I am torn because I kind of want to go to visit these new breweries and see our friend that we only see a few times a year, but I also don't really want to drive that far and I also feel bad about having the IL's watch her again. Andplusalso - my dad is also friends with this person so he would be going too and although he said he didn't need us to drive, I think he was counting on being able to ride out with us.
So I ask....WWYD?

If your ILs are willing, I would just utilize them if you guys don't have any backup sitters. If it's going to be a super long day, I'd probably give them some $ to get something extra for DD as far as food or maybe activity or something along those lines. That's how I'd justify feeling bad about it. Lol

And maybe extra so they can take her to the zoo or something. I'll run that by DH and see what he thinks.

not much going on today I don't think. I opted to not go in to the classroom today, ds said they stopped doing writer's workshop & since they had the volunteer reception thing & she basically thanked me for my service I'm not sure if I'm needed anymore. Lol

Yesterday a kid at school told Dorian his cup was a girls cup because it was purple. 😠 He was a little upset the kid teased him but he said the boy was wrong and he still likes his cup.
I think I was more mad than he was. Not at the kid because obviously he didn't come up with that on his own but in general. It's a freaking cup. Who cares what color it is?
It sucks because I'm used to getting comments about the "girl" stuff he likes from ignorant adults but this is the first time it's happened with a kid at school and I know it won't be the last. The upside is that he is pretty confident in himself and what he likes. I hope he stays that way.

misspeansmama I like the idea of giving them money for ice cream and possibly extra for some kind of activity. Today is technically my Thursday so I'm happy about that. Although I feel a slight headache coming on so I'm hoping some caffeine will fix that.

YAY for it being your Thursday! I hope your headache subsides.

I'm sorry that happened to your DS yellowwallpaper kids are jerks. My DS has had his fair share of encounters because of his speech but luckily he's so scatterbrained tbh he's too busy to notice. He told me about a situation once where a kid or kids called him crazy & said, "no, I'm a genius!" I can only hope the confidence stays put as long as possible. I can't handle mean kids. We got DS a princess castle for christmas as one of his gifts so there are no boy/girl stereotypes in our house either. It's so stupid & you know it's mostly the parenting that makes kids that way.

He has started telling people to "worry about your own hair" 😂

Morning! Busy day today. I'm off and don't go back to work until Tuesday! Yipee! DD is in DC too so I'm enjoying my kid free time. Even though I have so much to do. Two doctors appointments and tons of cleaning and purging. The house is a disaster and I really have no motivation to do anything. I just want to nap but if I do I know I won't get anything done. Decisions decisions. Oh and it's my anniversary today. Don't think we are really doing anything though. Womp womp. My mom did send a card with a $100 check made out to me. Going to put it towards getting my hair done on Friday. I can't wait it's been so long since I've had a hair cut.
Hope you guys have a great day!

That's why it annoys me more when adults who should know better do it.

the hair thing is wild to me because I see so many boys with longer hair these days. people just need to stfu. like tell me he's not cute.. *poof* although for us, his hair has just been kind of his thing. He needs a trim for the summer, he gets way too clammy but I need him to sit still for this 0_o

Can someone come to my house and clean for me 😩 I really want a house keeper. And I thought missing adult socks were awful. Lost toddler socks are the worst.
