I want to like that shirt, but that weird hanging piece has me like . vino I'm way late but this is me exactly. I've had some tops from Loft over the years with hanging ties or whatnot on either side of the collar and they always drive me crazy. I think the asymmetry here would really do me in.

Do your 2016 babies have all their molars yet? I don’t think Charlie does, but I think they might be coming in. He threw three long lasting tantrums today (right as the Motrin would begin to wear off) and now he’s been without Motrin since 2 this afternoon and just woke up hysterical, which is not him at all.

O does all the sleeping things you mentioned (snoring, restless) too. I’ve also heard him stop breathing but he was sick so I’m not sure how often that is happening. He also grinds his teeth when he is sleeping. Sometimes his snoring sounds like he is trying to breathe through a straw. His pediatrician felt that his tonsils weren’t that bad and didn’t recommend i take him to an ent. But he did say if i observe the breathing thing when he’s not sick then take him to an ent. I think i want to take him regardless. At our last appt, the ENT asked that we record the snoring, so we did that and I think it helped him today. So you might want to try if you do make an appt to go in. Your comment about "breathing through a straw" sounds just like the noise B makes, and even when he's on his side or sitting up (like if he falls asleep in the carseat) he still does it. From what I've read, it could be adenoids, too. In our case ENT seems to think it's definitely the tonsils. Other questions they asked...stuff about behavior (tantrums/outbursts?), is it difficult to wake the child in the morning?, does the child have difficulty concentrating, does he seem well-rested...the nurse did a questionnaire with me, I think it was called OSA18. Basically a quality of life survey that I had to rate how common (or not) certain behaviors are. Everything I've seen/heard, from reading and what all our doctors have said, is that snoring is not typical in an otherwise healthy kid. So I'd probably press to at least pursue it with a specialist to get their take.

guster - Chase's last 4 came through over the last few months. He's still constantly chewing on teethers and shoving his hands in there, so either they're still coming all the way through or he's got a lovely habit that needs breaking. He wasn't overly grumpy with these ones though, he's been tantruming but not really grumping since he started talking more (if that makes sense).

DH actually loaded the car with everything I packed, so he's somewhat redeemed himself. But we can't run the central air on the generator, so that's fun. Good thing we have all those fans from the times the air konked out.
The morning can't get here fast enough!!

Based on the ENT and snoring talk, I now think M should be seen. He has always been a snoring kid and I found it odd, but he never had ear issues, eating issues, or anything else, so just kind of dismissed it. I’ll wait to bring it up at his well visit at the end of the year and see what his doc thinks.

Can you guys help me reason through something I witnessed today? It's been bothering me all evening...
I was at a gas station earlier and when I walked up to the register there was a POC at the register two people in front of me. I hear the clerk say to her "it says declined" and he just stares at her, she pauses for a couple seconds and then leaves empty handed. When I got to the front and ran my card as debit it also declined. (There 100% was money in the account) The clerk then said, "oh try it as credit, the machine does this all the time" so did, and it went through.
I'm bothered because the clerk didn't offer for the lady to run the card a second time that I heard. He just told her it was declined. I'd like to think I walked up when she was running it a second time, but sadly I think he didn't even bother to offer that to her.
I wish I had said something. I didn't witness the entire interaction, so I wasn't sure what to do. I've never seen what appeared to be such a quiet purposeful display of racism before. I've witnessed racial slurs and asshole uncles before but nothing like this. It's just heavy on my mind tonight. Feel free to flame me for not sticking up for her. I deserve it.

I like the idea of stainless wineallthetime, if you eventually plan to replace your other appliances. I really think stainless goes with everything but it looks great with creamy toned cabinets, IMO. Oh wow joelies. You're a better woman than I am, my H would be dead by now. It'd be autopay or bust at this point and I would still want to check over his shoulder on anything he's responsible for. Mom and I took the kids to the mall this afternoon and I got all of B's back-to-school shopping done (at...where else...Dillards). B was not delighted about trying stuff on but we were pretty efficient. We made DH a nice dinner and then he went out for a night cross-country flight (meaning he has to land at another airport, then come back). Mom and I are watching "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society" on Netflix...it has several of the actors from Downton Abbey in it and is very good. I read the book years ago but had forgotten much of it so it's basically all new.

His came in within the last couple months but didn’t seem to bother him as much but so much drool.

mskatiep - I agree that it sounds like the clerk was being an ass but you didn't know that until you received what seemed like very different treatment. Now that it's too late to say anything directly to the clerk, I'd contact the store management and let them know what you saw and that you can't patronize a business that would racially discriminate against minority customers. Hopefully they'll straighten out there employees or face losing business. I've been trying to put my money where my mouth is these days. I know it's not much but when shit seems to be going on everywhere, it's SOMETHING.

I will try to find contact information too. Unfortunately it's a rinky dink gas station on a country road is Missouri. 10 to 1 the owners are of the same mindset.

dapostrophe exact same, life twin. We love our black stainless steal! joelies I would be so pissed. And forget just not getting laid tonight... that’s something I would totally hold over my dhs head forever. Like in December he’d want to get frisky and I’d be all “temper the electric bill... and the generator. No.” @makatiep I won’t flame you, that sounds like one of those situations that happens quickly and by the time you process it the moment has passed. It sucks though. Could you run by and speak to a manager about what you witnessed? It may not help that POC, but help bring awareness??

S has had all of her teeth for quite a while (since right after she turned 2) but I know a bunch of the girls on my other bmb have been complaining about molars. ETA: when she was getting them she was super crabby and her sleep went to crap.

That’s ridiculous joelies a. That your H didn’t pay the bill on time and got the power shut off and b. That they wouldn’t come back and restore it same day. I hope everyone can sleep well tonight and you don’t kill your H in his sleep.

mskatiep Are you sure they were using a debit card and not a credit card? It definitely wouldn’t hurt to contact the manager and explain in detail what you witnessed.

mskatiep it sounds like you didn't know what happened until it was an your turn, so I wouldn't beat yourself up over it. I try to support businesses that I align with lately too joelies or ones that have taken a stand on issues - like dicks being the first to drop guns, REI/Patagonia for their environmental work, etc. I try to limit Amazon purchases since there are reports of poor employee treatment, but shop at Costco bc they pay their staff well. Money talks and it's one of the few things we have control over lately.

This was my thought too, but then my laptop battery died and my response got eaten. Or maybe there are different error messages. Just a thought if you were trying to extend the clerk the benefit of the doubt--I am not very familiar with Point of Sale systems so I may be off-base. It's obviously very possible that he was just being a bigoted jerk, though. I think at the least he should have offered to re-run it, or inquire if she had another method of payment. If it's bothering you, I'd reach out to the store manager. S/he may surprise you but if not, at least you tried.

mskatiep definitely not flammable since you only heard the tail end of the conversation and couldn't have known that different things were being inquired of different people. I agree with PPs I would call though.

mamabear I'm very in a place of Yes right now, so i say that you go for the interview, find out more about the job, team and culture of the team, ask good questions to the interview panel. I think in doing that you'll be able to answer some of your questions. As far as the working part time thing, you have no guarantees with your current role that they'll be permitting you to work part time so I think that saying no to possible opportunities now would be a mistake. I would absolutely talk to your manager, be honest and let them know how this came about and that you'll be going to the interview, as someone in leadership I always appreciate honesty and transparency. Thanks vino . As a manager if someone came to you saying they want to interview to find out about a job would that question their commitment to the job? I feel like the new job might fit my lifestyle better but I like that I moved into new type of work in my current role. You're right I have no guarantee of part time in either role, I guess my thinking was it's be easier to negotiate someplace I've been a while, and I wouldn't want to compromise that somehow. I'm probably over thinking. Hey. I meant to come back to this yesterday but was preoccupied by handbags Personally, no I wouldn't question ones commitment to the job. If a person has been in the same job for a good amount of time where the learning has slowed down, I would expect that movement is going to happen. IME if a person has open discussions with the leaders about where they are, where they want to be etc, then leadership shouldn't be surprised and do what they can to expand their goals and career. Many managers do what I call is 'silo' their people into such small areas that they feel suffocated and no way out, it's awful but I see it all the time. If there is authenticity and transparency from both sides then it switches from a purely small minded thinking to the larger picture which should always include the goals of the staff. I expect this from my Leadership as well, and if it doesn't happen, I'm on the wrong 'team'. Hence why I've been at my job forever, my team and leadership is near perfect so I'm afraid of what shit show I'd inherit when I decide to move.
