Today was D1's first day back at school in almost two weeks. She didn't even last two hours until they called me that she fell and had a gash on her eye. Luckily it's not deep enough for stitches but she has a nasty black eye already. Poor girl is so clumsy and constantly falling.

E is a pretty serious baby and she's not very chatty, so the 15 minute conversation she just had with the ivy hanging in the front window was so awesome.

Lol this made me laugh. I confess I also was looking at Christmas pjs this morning. If you wait too long all the good ones are gone! Please don’t make me let go of summer so soon! I hate to say it, but we’re going on like a month of this. I hope it isn’t that long for you. He can roll back to his back, but just will not do it even though he’s upset on his belly. He is able to tolerate being on his belly for longer now, so it’s not the immediate crying as soon as he rolls to his belly like it was. And we had one instance where he ended up rolling to his belly in his crib and fell asleep there, so I thought we were moving past that. But it happened once and not again so 🤷🏼♀️ Babies should learn these skills in pairs. ETA - I quoted the wrong thread. Meant to reply to cp3 about rolling. Is it Friday yet?

That is awesome cp3! I should get serious about fitness sometime soon...... Also awesome that you finally feel good calendula. We are also going on a month since DS learned to roll into his stomach. He's rolled back a handful of times but I think accidentally. He always rolls onto his stomach to sleep and has actually gotten a lot better at tummy time so there's hope even if it takes a while to learn rolling back. I got DS a helium balloon at the dollar tree and its his favorite thing, so that helps with tummy time.also a mirror.

Argghhh our Christmas jammies came in, but they don’t fit. Well, the medium bottoms fit for both H and me, but the medium tops are too big. And you can’t buy mismatched sizes. Sad face. Fortunately for you ITS STILL AUGUST you weirdo Haha true! I’m already thinking about Christmas shopping. I get more and more like my grandma every year. She probably has all the grandkids’ gifts bought and wrapped by now.

My kids played tag last night 😴
DS2 woke at 11 and 4 for a feed, that’s ok. But DS1 was yelling out for mummy cuddles at 3. I could’ve sent H but then screaming that he wanted mummy would wake baby so I went. He was good and went back to sleep but then the baby woke up just as I was falling back asleep.
H woke up this morning and said he dreamt I left him. I said “was it because your children don’t sleep?” He said, “no we were living with my mum at her house so maybe that was why” lol

The baby napped while I took DD1 to dance class, again, so we are still wide awake. I want to stress eat some ice cream.

With all these stories of rolling babies I am starting to get concerned. L has absolutely no I yerest in rolling. I wouldn’t worry. Rolling isn’t really a significant milestone. DS1 did it once and never again and he’s fine. DS2 hasn’t done it for ages and still doesn’t roll back to belly. Not interested.

L was up every hour starting at 11 last night. He nursed twice for just a few minutes and fell right back asleep. H went in the other times and put the pacifier in or rolled him back over. I wish I knew why he kept getting up. Tooth, leap, upset tummy, too much day sleep, nurse to sleep at bedtime? I am not good with the unknown and there’s a lot of unknown with babies I feel.

With all these stories of rolling babies I am starting to get concerned. L has absolutely no I yerest in rolling. I wouldn’t worry, enjoy the immobility while it lasts! You can bring it up at your next doctors appointment if you have concerns but babies develop at different rates and some skip certain milestones altogether.

I'm tired. Between summer camp and daycare, I'm doing an hour of driving on either side of my workday. Work has been very busy and I often run errands at lunch. I have night meetings a couple times a week, so I have to get home, go nuts making dinner and cramming in a tiny bit of time with the kids before getting back in the car (!) and working late. And I'm waking up early to go to the gym or run a few days a week. I feel fine through about Wednesday but then it starts to catch up to me.
Ready for the weekend over here.

OMW calendula . I hope you have zero plans on the weekend! I actually have big plans! But fun ones. I'm running a big race on Sunday morning! Driving to the beach on Saturday afternoon, sharing a hotel room with a friend who is also running, going out to dinner with friends. I'm excited! I have no plans other than snuggling kiddos on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon though.

leatherpants where are you looking at Christmas PJs? I wanted Burt’s bees one’s but they don’t ship to Canada. Womp womp. I’ve gotten Snug as a Bug before - it’s a Toronto company and they emailed me a coupon code. But it’s flannel and it’s so damn hot. I’ve also ordered from Amazon and Pajajamagram - they ship to Canada but younhave to order before November. There was another place too but I can’t think of it - same thing though. They don’t ship to Canada after November We also bought L his Halloween costume the other day too so he better still want to be Dash by the time October rolls around.

I have a theory about babies based on mine alone - L never did anything mobile until “later” and I think it was because he was a giant baby (99th %ile for everything always and still). B moves a lot more and he’s just a tiny peanut. I think it’s easier for smaller babies to get control of their bodies where big ones have to figure out how to move all of their giant selves.
That’s what I told myself anyways when L was always the last baby to do anything like rolling or crawling or walking, which took forever.

They are pricey but Christmas jammies everywhere seem pricey. Oh wait! Last year I ordered from Target! And they were really nice actually. And fit my giant pregnant self
