Not yet. We won't get the keys until tonight or tomorrow morning. The movers are scheduled for the morning and we have one more night in our ghetto motel. One more chance to get a contact high from the MJ. That reminds me, someone was smoking weed in the parking lot as we were walking back to the car from Costco last Friday. Atticus asked, "what's that awful smell?" I said, "someone is smoking." He asked, incredulously, "Oh my God, do people SMOKE SKUNKS?!"

cagoldi I just laughed out loud at that. It reminded me of the way T says some words. They are wrong but has good reason for thinking he’s right. Skunks = stunks Porcupines = Pokeypines Puppet show = Pop up show I’m sitting in my car with C at DS’s dry land training. C is asleep and I kinda want to close my eyes too. H is dying to get back to work and I’m so over keeping the kids out of his way at home. We are probably going to have to just spend a ton of money on Uber.

Ahh, peachsmama, so terrifying. Glad it had a happy ending and he found someone to help. I always tell B to look for an employee and barring that, a mom with kids. When we went to the beach in FL last month, a child got lost and the poor mother was hysterical. Just as the lifeguards pulled up a woman came running down the beach yelling that the little girl had been found. People all over the beach (including us) were looking for her and my heart was in my throat the entire time. When I heard she’d been found I burst into tears, I kept thinking how easily it could’ve been one of my two. I cannot imagine seeing a panicky parent and not offer to help—get an employee, ask for a name/description, whatever.

My word. I picked the kids up from my in-laws after work and C threw a royal fit. Kicking, screaming, refusing to get in the car. My in-laws said they'd keep him overnight tonight since he wanted to stay. I wanted nothing more than to throw him at them and drive away at a fast speed saying, "see ya!!!!!", but I didn't want to give into his jerky behavior. So instead I got a workout wrestling him into his carseat in the back row of my SUV and then texted MH to have wine ready, cranked the music up and ignored his screams. He is a tantrum throwing type kid and mama gotta shut that shit down.
I'm now on my 3rd glass of wine.

Obviously I should be preparing him in case something like this happened. I'm still sad this happened to Peach, but is eye opening for me going forward. You'd think when MH lost my kid in Meijer would be eye opening, but I have a pretty good routine down in places like that and am now more scared of "attraction" type places where he's running around to see stuff.

Last summer at the beach, a little girl was found but the parents were lost. Kid was wandering alone and someone brought her to the lifeguards. They were signaling all up and down the beach. The kid said they were renting a house but she wasn’t sure of the street. Local police were driving her up and down each block until someone noticed her missing and came back to the beach looking for her. It was a big group who packed up and left without her. She was probably like 5.

Hi from solo parent land. When you just want to sit on the toilet in peace, but instead you are trying to wrestle the 1 year old from pulling the bag out of the trash and keeping his hands off the plunger at the same time. 😩

I can see in the bathroom from the stove. I don’t ever plug the tub...just keep the water running and draining the whole time because Epilepsy. But she loves it. She was having a great time...till I realized she had reached out and grabbed the plunger and had it in the tub with her 🤢. I gave her another scrub down after that.

S has been playing with an old wallet of MH’s for the last few days. It’s empty and she loves it. So tonight at bedtime she had a wallet...which I assumed was the empty old one. I tried to take it when I put her down but she had a death grip on it. So I decided I didn’t really care and wasn’t going to battle over it and put her to bed snuggling the wallet. 🤷♀️. Whatevs.
FF to MH and I sitting on the deck having a drink and forgot to take the monitor out there. Come back inside to realize she’s up and playing in her room instead of asleep. MH goes in and puts her back to bed, grabs the wallet which was his ACTUAL wallet. However the $100 cash he had in it is gone. Lol. So we spent 30 minutes trying to find the $$$. Finally found it, in the play room.

peachsmama how scary!! So glad you were able to find him! I've recently been working on my cellphone number with Layla. She already knows to find a mom with kids if we get separated. I don't want to instill fear in her, but I'd rather her be a little prepared if it ever happens. inthekitty congratulations!!

So we made it back from our shopping expedition with some sandals and make-up (for me) and new jammies for C.
Apparently B crashed hard about 30 minutes before we got home at 6, and slept thru all our attempts to wake him up for dinner. I finally decided to let him sleep through til morning, since he apparently needs it. Fingers crossed he won’t be up at 3 am. He woke up just long enough to potty and passed out again.
Meanwhile BossLady withstood over an hour of attempted bedtime and is wide awake, wired and in a great mood. She took a late nap in the car—kiss of death. She’s currently covering up her toy dinosaurs with blankets. 🤦🏻♀️

If we are at a place like Disneyland LO knows to go up to a security officer or anyone with a name tag that I have shown him. Everywhere else we setup a location to meet or I point out what a security officer looks like. He knows what a police man looks like so he knows they are safe to go to.

Probably, but 🤷♀️ I was watching Kelly & Ryan a couple weeks ago. Jelly was telling a story about her son and how she always taught him to look for a mommy. She just did this: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ with a weird face when she said don’t look for a daddy because you don’t know what you’ll get. Lol. It’s like it’s universal that a daddy may not have kids and not know what to do. At least a “mommy” looking person usually could keep the child calm & comfort them where someone like my BIL would tell them to gtfo.

Yeah, I told Bradley a mom with kids, if you can't find a policeman or employee (and obviously don't go all over the place looking for a policeman or whatever). Obviously I think most men are probably safe, but a lot of them would likely just be oblivious. However, on the flip side, when I was about 6 we were shopping and I got separated from my mom and aunt. When I realized I was by myself, I found an employee. She sent me out into the mall to the security desk! Didn't walk me there herself, just told me to go out there and tell them what happened. I mean, I could see it from the store entrance, so it's not like it was terribly far, but still. It got the job done, but she definitely wasn't a very sympathetic or comforting.
