RunsforWineandCarbs, will you be effected by this hurricane coming through FL? It looks like it'll be effecting my dad in Cape Coral. You're on the opposite coast though, right?

Betweenthelines, it's coming up thru the gulf and hitting the pan handle - i will have rain but that is about it. Cape Coral may get storm surge, you know bigger waves and some rain but it shouldn't be too bad. But honestly, this is the first that I am hearing Cape Coral will be affected; news here is saying to Tampa, which is North of your dad. And the more I think about it the more nervous you are making me...i have a big project going up right now in North Port (between tampa and cape coral) and I can't have this storm affecting it. damnit.

I'm popping in. I hope that's okay. RunsforWineandCarbs, I hope you don't see much rain from the hurricane. The UN report about global warming is grim and I'm literally losing sleep over it right now.

shellyr, of course it's alright to pop in! Thanks, I hope for little rain as well. I didn't read the report but I figured it would be grim.

I was up from like 12-2:30 last night because J is sick. He’s had a bad cough and cold and had a high fever. Then he threw up all over me. I think all of the congestion drained into his stomach poor guy. So I had to bath him and we watched Bubble Guppies until his fever came down. I am currently getting my hair down and H is staying home with him. FX the baby doesn’t catch this.

Also, how the hell do you teach your kids to blow their noses?! J just sucks it in instead of blows.

Pizzaslut, I hold the kleenex to their nose and tell them to blow. When they barely blow I tell them to blow harder. Then I tell them to blow hard enough to blow the kleenex out of my hand. Here's our convo. Me: C blow. C barely blows. Me: Blow harder. C raises his arms and pulls them in hard in a thrust motion and blows harder. Me: Blow harder...blow the kleenex out of my hand C blows really hard doing his thrust movement and snot comes out. Me: Good job, do it again, blow really really hard. And so on. I love his thrust movement he does..it's kind of funny.

Pizzaslut, i also still use saline and the booger sucker on his nose to help drain it out. our pedi advised us to give him zrytec twice a day to dry him up - he had what it sounds like j has a few weeks ago.

How are you holding up with the storm RunsforWineandCarbs? I forget which coast you are closer to but it looks nasty.

Dd learned to blow her nose on her own apparently at a year old. Idk how. Ds just learned a few months ago and I would make him hold his mouth shut and blow the tissue on the counter.
Now when I need him to blow his nose I tell him "I need a superman, Batman, hulk smash blow" and he blows so.hard.
It works for us lol

RunsforWineandCarbs, I love myself, so I'm doing low carb, but still allowing myself a little. Like Saturday, I made french onion soup and homemade croutons with garlic butter baguette. I had like 8 croutons in my soup. Yesterday I had red wine (which actually isn't that loaded with carbs, but I had 3 large glasses lol). I've been having a nice glass of whiskey when I want a drink which is 0 carbs. I did make these muffins yesterday (minus the liquid stevia) and they're actually pretty good! Only 1.73 net carbs www.ruled.me/keto-lemon-poppyseed-muffins/
