Back to work today, blah... Having sometime to ourselves was really amazing! M slept from 9:00 till 8:00 this morning! Holy shit that felt great. I probably should night wean like you too yoshijo since its been the last 3 nights but who knows if I will. I guess it depends how long she cries. Thats an awsome stretch! I went in thinking the same thing. If she cried for longer I prob would have caved. I have mixed feelings but man it's nice to sleep for 7 hours straight. I don't think she ate enough tonight so I'm probably going to have to feed her tonight. Unless I try to dream feed her at like 9pm. Can you dream feed a 1 yr old? Ha I occasionally dreamfeed D. still - sometimes she'll wake up more then I'd like but usually that just means I have to sit and nurse a little longer before putting her back to bed.

thinkchocolate05 congratulations on baby H's baptism. How incredible your old pastor was able to come back for this, so happy for you. It sounds like it was a most wonderful day! I've not yet gone to the beach with D. but could see myself fitting her with a lifejacket of sorts when we do. You never know whether they somehow manage to slip away just for one second, right, no matter how careful we are. Though I have to say, when we went swimming with her during our short get away, we just held her when we went into the water (or she was in the babyfloat). Then again that was in a calm pool, not at the beach.. plus she is so fast crawling around and getting all and everywhere so I probably still would get her something for at the beach if we were to go close to the waterfront. LOL not much help huh?

MH wants to head to the beach again for the weekend since the next few are busy with other stuff so been packing this morning. Obviously it won’t be the same with the kids as our relaxing getaway was lol. Sounds like a fun going away together with the fam though, have fun!

Thanks all for the well wishes for little D. Two days of fever but she's now fever free again luckily. I also noticed this early morning that another tooth has popped.. so who knows whether that also contributed to the fever. Poor kid really gets all at once.
Also thank you for the sweet words on not getting the job. It hit me harder then I had expected, I guess in my head I was already looking forward to the future working the job, so it was a big disappoinment. But it's okay, something else will pop up! Who was it again that asked whether any of us were contemplaiting a change of carreer?

pennylane , kristyw , solidarity on the housecleaning heh. I somehow overdid it or something, with the heat and all, cause after picking up D. from DC and grabbing some chinese take out on the way home, once home I suddenly felt soo nauseous and dizzy and just had to lay down not to faint or puke. DH told me off for cleaning with these temperatures LOL.. guess maybe he was right.

I spent like 4 hours last night uploading photos to Shutterfly and ordering prints. I also created R’s birthday invitation. I’m not sure the invitations will get here on time, but I wasn’t going to spend $40+ on shipping. I text people this morning with the date/time for the party - it’s going to be fairly small anyways. I’m not looking forward to putting the photos in albums when they come. I also haven’t attached any photos to R’s baby book - I gotta get on that.
H took T to the opening of a skatepark - hopefully they’re gone for awhile. R’s been so fucking busy it’s nuts. She tries to get into everything.
I have a work baby shower to go to tomorrow.

Of course wouldn’t you know it M STTN for my mom last night lol. I’m relieved of course but little stinker has been averaging 2 wakeups a night with me 😝 Sometimes I wonder whether D should go for a sleepover at my mums to "reset" so to speak. When we were traveling in May and she was at my mums she STTN every single night. Once back home we were back to wake ups again and well as of late it's been ridiculous really. It's been 4 weeks of teething, chicken pox, fever, the heat, and now her laryngitis and ear infection and a couple of new teeth again, still this bloody heatwave, I'm sooooo exhausted cause I've not slept for longer then 1.5h at a time in over a month! She ended up STTN both nights we were gone and then 2 nights in a row once we got home but now the last 2 nights, up once and twice last night. Ugh sleep babies sleep!

Our birthday party is going to be like 20 people and I'm good with that. I've been making shutterfly books so I don't have to put pictures in albums. Also, I have 0 pictures in J baby book. I've kept up with it but have yet to put a photo in it either.

J is still just waking once but the last 3 days he is screaming and crying for 10 to 20 minutes before going down for naps and bed I have no clue what we are doing wrong and its frustrating.

DD takes one nap a day now. So I put on Elmo visits grouch land on for a break. My DH is going to make tacos soon. Oh man. When did she go down to 1 nap? I'm hoping J sticks with 2 for a while. When di they usually transition? Does it make the day longer?

muscari by night wean I meant not feed MOTN. That is my go to for any MOTN wakeup. I let her CIO/ fuss and she fell back to sleep in under 5 mins for 2 nights. She's STTN since (it's been 3 nights). I figured I should take advantage that she wasn't teething or sick so it was pretty easy. I will probably give her tylenol or comfort her if she wakes for teething/ sickness though. I do miss the cuddles but it's nice to have a long stretch of sleep. I forgot about that since it's been a year lol

I wouldn't mind it if it was a long nap because the second is usually pretty short. But they end up a hot cranky mess by bedtime so I still make the effort for the 2nd nap.

It's ben hit and miss lately with 2 naps and more often there is just one. I did manage to nurse her back to sleep after her first 45m nap yesterday afternoon and she slept another 40 minutes yay, now how to learn her to just do this on her own LOL.
I am not ready for just one nap a day yet!

We will let her fuss for a bit but real crying neither of us can handle so... Plus well it's been one thing after another these past several weeks so tis not really the right time anyway.. unfortunately. And now we have another leap coming up as well so I am preparing myself for at least another month of crappy nights *yawns*

We are on the struggle bus to go down for sleep the last few nights. This happened about a month ago as well and it worked itself out in about a week but man...I hate hearing him cry. He's been crying for 10 to 20 minutes before naps and bedtime the last 3 days. It sucks. But then he sleeps well.

Yes ditto here on feeling guilty. Tis just that pretty much all my awake time goes into D and or housechores and there is little to no me time and after a year tis getting to me a bit..

muscari Yes that's exactly right. Whatever time spent outside of work hours is dedicated to one of the 3 kids, cleaning, or spending time with MH. Doesn't leave much down time.

I dont even remember the days D napped longer then 45-50 min.. Both my kids have been good at sleep. We put them down before they’re too tired, which I think helps. Like, R is usually only up for 2.5 hours before going to sleep. We use a noise machine and R has two toys that play music with her. Sometimes she cries a little before bed, but usually falls asleep within 15 minutes of being in her crib.

HEY guys! So MIA lately. Pumping while he naps so I hope I can fit in a little catch up! bsouls I’m so jealous of your children’s sleeping habits! @starzia muscari happyfeet9 N is in that awkward transition from 2-1 naps a day now too. we started letting him sleep in as late as he wants so instead of getting up at 7 he sleeps til 8-9 and then he’s been going down for a nap around 1 and will do 2ish hours and the. Maybe a cat nap or quiet time in his crib around 5. I want him to do a longer motd nap like 12-3 or 1-4 so he doesn’t need a second nap and then bedtime is 8:30-9. But then yesterday he went balls to the walls bc of swim class and napped at 11 only for 45min so he def needed a good second nap. Oh well. We will get there. He STTN Thursday night and Saturday night. Fx he does it again soon!! Of course I worked night shift Thursday night so it was of no help to me lol but I’m glad dh got a good night sleep. pennylane you’re solo parenting this week too right? T&Ps. muscari I hope D is on the mend. I felt so sad for her reading all your posts. One thing after another!! Poor kiddo. And poor mama bc it is not easy seeing your LO down like that. jt2378 how’s night weaning going?? Did she STTN again? Fx! yoshijo hope she continues to STTN! It sounds like a good time to wean. Now that we know he can STTN and did it the last 2/3 nights, I want to wean his bottle bc what am I supposed to do when I stop pumping? Get him milk out of the fridge? Seems like a bad idea.

In other news, the water leak in the ceiling of our kitchen was NOT due to the toilet upstairs the plumber fixed on the first day. So we have spent all week dealing with this shit. Finally on Thursday they figured it out by cutting a big hole in our ceiling and finding the leaking pipe (from the upstairs kitchen sink) and a bunch of mold in there as it’s been leaking for a long time and it only came out because we had just installed recess lighting in our kitchen.
So now we have a hole in our ceiling that’s covered with plastic wrap and taped up but the tape comes off every time the ac fan is on.... and the upstairs owner is in a fight with our condo association over who has to pay for the damages and repairs and we can’t get it fixed until they figure it out. 😒 So. We called our insurance comp on fri night and the on call team couldn’t find our policy. 🙄 so we have to wait til regular business hours to find someone to talk to about our options to get the damn thing fixed.
Lots of yelling/not yelling on the phone this weekend with insurance companies, the president of the HOA, the upstairs owner...... ooof 😒
Plus side of the weekend? Took him to swim class where he cries the whole time LOL/sob and we did his birthday photo shoot today!! I’ll post a sneak peek when I get one!!

addymac that sounds like a shit storm. I can't believe they can't fix it until someone decides who is paying. That is crap. I was going to ask how swim lessons are as we start next month. We are going with a friend who has a 6 month old. I'm actually a swim instructor so I've been trying to do some things with J so he actually enjoys the lessons. I'm hoping he will as he loves the water. We are only doing the lessons for something to do since I could do it myself but oh well.
