Back to work today, blah... Having sometime to ourselves was really amazing! M slept from 9:00 till 8:00 this morning! Holy shit that felt great. I probably should night wean like you too yoshijo since its been the last 3 nights but who knows if I will. I guess it depends how long she cries. Thats an awsome stretch! I went in thinking the same thing. If she cried for longer I prob would have caved. I have mixed feelings but man it's nice to sleep for 7 hours straight. I don't think she ate enough tonight so I'm probably going to have to feed her tonight. Unless I try to dream feed her at like 9pm. Can you dream feed a 1 yr old? Ha

Um- I am in so much trouble tonight. BOTH kids are in bed and it’s not even 6pm. DD only took a morning nap, and fell asleep eating dinner. DS fell asleep in the living room after an epic tantrum over his LEGOs. (He was insisting on putting pieces together backwards and it just wasn’t working. 3 year old problems!) T&Ps tonite 😬

Happy belated birthday king26Sorry about the job muscari. Maybe something else similar will open up? That sucks about your friend not understanding kids addymac. Once, my sister in law, who doesn't have kids yet, offered my kids a popsicle to-go in the car (our car, not hers). I was like, nope!! yoshijo Sorry for your family's loss pennylane Mine does that with duplos too. They get so ragey over things like that. Mine said last night that he wouldn't play with me anymore bc we were pushing a toy car back and forth and I sent it to him backwards. How DARE I? We baptized baby H this past Sunday. It was awesome!! Our former pastor, who is sadly terminally ill, came back to baptize him, and we had alot of family in town. He fit into the outfit I sewed ds1 3 years ago and he clapped his hands right after she baptized him.

I think several of you have gone to the beach, and I need advice. Did you get a life jacket/ puddle jumper for baby? I'm wondering if he's crawling around by the water if he should be wearing one. I'm going to sound absolutely crazy, but I'm really paranoid about rogue waves even though I'll be right by him the whole time. What did others do? We are going to outer Banks.

We have gone a couple times but she is never down near the water unless I am holding her so we never used anything. She was more interested in the sand anyways 😂

thinkchocolate05 that's awesome that he fit into DS 1 baptism outfit and that your minister was able to do it. J is getting baptized on the 26th and I'm looking for an outfit for him. I'm also worried about how he will do during the service. There is no way he is going to be able to sit there for an entire hour. But I'm looking forward to it.

thinkchocolate05 that's great your pastor was still able to do the baptism. king26 I wouldn't worry. All the babies made noise, especially Alexa since she was 10 months old. I kept her quiet with some snacks though lol

king26 we had family sitting behind us, so we passed him around, which helped. Dh had to walk him around the back of the church near the end of the service. I feel like people would be understanding though.

I took D. to the dr today for the first time.. she spiked a fever overnight and had all kinds of fresh red spots which both confused as concerned me a little so soon after the chicken pox. Spots likely are insect bites doh no idea what bit out stung her when... but glad it is nothing bad. Babygirl does have a throat and earinfection though. Poor thing she has had quite a rough few weeks with teething, the pox and the heat wave all of July and now this. I hope she gets a break soon.
I hope she will feel ok enough to go to DC tomorrow at least for a few hours cause mama desperately needs some time off. I hope to catch up on this thread tomorrow too! Do feel bad about sending her to DC while sick but if she is well enough I actually think it will be good for both.. right?

muscari I hope shes feeling better soon! The rule for our daycare here is 24 hours fever free/antibiotics for 24 hours usually. Do you know what the daycare rules are there? I hope you can get that break!

We royally overslept oops LOL, fell back asleep once DH left for work - I guess we both needed it.. As for D. we gave her some tylenol before bed last night and again this early morning and her temp went down so no more fever yay. Hopefully it stays away and won't come back soon as the tylenol works off. FX. Here the 'rule' is that as long as baby feels well enough to play / get along in the group without being too hindered by feeling unwell, they're allowed to come in (depending on what's making them ill obviously but since this isn't contageous etc...). D. was a little slower at times yesterday but overal was her playful self, and this morning didn't show much of feeling ill so I decided to just give it a go. When we arrived she pretty much immediately hopped into the arms of the caregiver and was all smiles so I think/hope it'll be fine today. Mama needed a break! They'll call if anything changes obviously.
I got some errands to run and some cleaning/tidying to do, but all I want is to sit still and soak my feet in cold water cause OMG can this heatwave take a hike already!?! Back later for more, unless I've melted into a puddle. DNW to do housechores...

muscari Sorry you didn’t get the position you interviewed for. But I’m glad you are getting a little break today (even if it’s doing errands/house work). I somehow have to clean our house today and run some errands before we have friends over tonight. Should be interesting getting it all done with both kids running/toddling around.

Hope D feels better muscari poor girl. J was crawling super fast yesterday, slid on the laminate, and bashed his face. He was a mess. Dh was looking after him and felt so bad but there was nothing he could do. His mouth was bleeding and his front tooth that hasn't popped through yet is purple under the gums. Poor guy is hurting.

Happy belated birthday bsouls and king26, I hope you had a lovely wonderful day!
king26 Did J. take any more "walks" yet? And I hope his mouth is much better again by now. Is it this weekend that you're away? Enjoy and have a great time!
yoshijo, I'm so sorry for your family's loss. I hope A. decided that STTN was her new thing!
jt2378, that sounds fab, a couple of kid-free days/nights! I felt bad about it but thoroughly enjoyed our days away just the two of us when we traveled to the UK for our friends wedding in May. Wish someone else was getting married soon LOL!
Is there no coffee at the nurses lounge (or, no such thing as a nurses lounge?) addymac? We didn't have our own coffeemachine but the ward just across did so it was a quick to'n'from to get something to drink luckily. Oddly enough I miss the soup that came from the machine lol!
As for the nap question; I usually let her go as she pleases, she usually doesn't nap longer then 45-50min max anyway. On rare occasions she'll sleep past the hour mark and on even rare occasions she'll get close to 2h. I always think to myself "if she makes it to 2h I'll wake up her" but usually she does on her own just a few minutes before. Since I'm SAH still and usually don't have early morning appointments, I don't really need to wake her in the am either. The one time I did have to a couple of weeks ago was sort of hilarious. She takes after her dad when it comes to being wokenup I think ;-)

I’m laughing because same. I mean sometimes a long nap in the morning but never afternoon! I have never had to but yesterday it was 2h and dh and I fell asleep and we were like oh wow bc it was 2.5hr ... so we woke him up. 🤷🏻♀️ A couple of weeks ago I was so tired that I decided to lie down as well when D. took her morning nap. Figured she'd be up in 45min anyway. Won't you know it she sleeps for a full almost 2h?!! It was glorious but I also had a serious wtf moment when I woke up LOL.

Of course wouldn’t you know it M STTN for my mom last night lol. I’m relieved of course but little stinker has been averaging 2 wakeups a night with me 😝 Sometimes I wonder whether D should go for a sleepover at my mums to "reset" so to speak. When we were traveling in May and she was at my mums she STTN every single night. Once back home we were back to wake ups again and well as of late it's been ridiculous really. It's been 4 weeks of teething, chicken pox, fever, the heat, and now her laryngitis and ear infection and a couple of new teeth again, still this bloody heatwave, I'm sooooo exhausted cause I've not slept for longer then 1.5h at a time in over a month!

I've decided to night wean. A STTN on her own for 3 nights in a row. So when she woke up the last 2 nights I didn't go in. Last night she CIO for less than 5 minutes but woke up about 3 times. I hate it but had to take advantage of the previous 3 nights. I just hate thinking she's hungry. If we were to go in to comfort I know it would make it worse With nightwean do you mean you stopped feeding/nursing at night wake ups or the going-in altogether? D. hasn't slept through the night since March though there have been times that I could just rock her back to sleep once or twice a night without nursing, which was awesome. Lately though everything just has been crap. I worry whether somehow I broke her ability to fall back asleep on her own.. but I just can't do the CIO and neither can DH. Though he has it easy... if he can't console her he'll just call me cause "she wants boobie".Aaahhhh (granted I do get her back to sleep pretty quick that way usually heh).

OMG I am going crazy.<snip> addymac , sorry you had such a crappy cranky day earlier this week and no luck finding a cute outfit for N's photoshoot. Did you get your Amazon order in yet? I hope you got at least one outfit that fits and all! I ran into an outfit with suspenders here at a store the other day and had to think of you right away. It was newborn size though buh. I hear you on not having any clothing that fit right.. ditto here and it's depressing as F!
Also major eyeroll to your friend. Did you guys end up meeting up at all? Kudos to you for telling DH to go without you

I got a couple outfits on amazon! Prime so I can return whatever doesn’t fit. 🤞🏼 One of them works!! Poor N stuck his finger in the vacuum cleaner brusher roller underthing when it tipped over as I was using the wand part and really hurt his finger i feel awful bc I didn’t realize it had tipped over and he had been following me around as I vacuumed bc I found a spider near his bookshelf where we keep his toys so I freaked out and went on a cleaning /vacuuming spree. So he woke up all happy and how is all whiny and crying on and off. I feel like a toad Lately when I vaccuum D. goes crazy if I keep her in her playpen.. she wants out and follow me around. I'm so worried I'll run her over with the thing! Our vaccuumcleaners are different from those you have (at least from what I remember); they are like this so I don't necessarily see the back part when I'm vaccuuming and with D. crawling around I really have to have eyes in my back!
