inthekitty I've started watching Castle Rock, which I assume is in the Handmaid's Tale's place on hulu Wednesday nights. Have you watched? Not yet, but thank you for the reminder that it started. It's been on my list! In addition to loving SK I need a Handmaid's Tale replacement. |

@dalostrophe What water slide do you have? I was thinking of getting one of those inflatable ones but worried it would spring a hole right away. mwhip Any news on your pup yet? Look on blastzone.com. We are on our 7th summer with one we got from there. |

I'm back to reality now after our long weekend at the coast. It was a lot of fun and a good way to beat the heat. We need to get moving on packing. Movers come in less than 2 weeks. The kids still don't get it. I keep explaining we literally need to put all of our things in boxes and move them to the new house, but they no comprenden. They'll get it eventually I guess.

Hey! H had dance camp and while she was there S & I went to the zoo. This week is giving me a taste of what it will be like when H starts school in a month and I like it. mwhip sorry your dog is sick, I hope whatever is wrong will be easy to treat. |

Just called daycare to see how H is doing. He’s had 2 accidents but stopped himself and went on the potty.
But... he’s also been super naughty at daycare this week. I even had to sign a timeout report yesterday for hitting. She said he hasn’t been listening today either. Ugh.
This is not good timing for them to be going to ILs for 4 days. He’s going to come back an absolute monster.... and probably regress on potty training.

I won't know more til after the sonogram and I'm not sure when that will be complete tomorrow. They just asked that I drop her off for the day, so they can fit her in when they have time in the schedule, and aren't rushed. |

Yesterday in Vegan Pregnancy and Parenting, some girl got dragged so hard for asking if it was okay to have one beer a few times during the pregnancy.
This from the same group who routinely has no problem with women choosing to smoke/eat cannabis during pregnancy, encourages unsafe sleeping practices, and today the starvation apologists are telling a mom not to supplement even though her baby is hungry.
Anything to earn that natural parenting badge, amirite?

I was supposed to go with a friend in college and get a tattoo, but she got too drunk the night we were going to go and chickened out. I never made plans to do it again. I always said if I didn't do it by the time I was 40, I wouldn't get one. Here I am at 41 and know I wouldn't do it now.
And looking back on it now, when I was going to get one, it was late 90s and the place to do it was the small of your back. I'm glad it didn't happen since I'd have a 'tramp stamp.'

Sending positive thoughts for your dog mwhip. xolastunicornxo my husband is that old. A couple of weeks ago he was supposed to meet me at a bakery and couldn't find it. I tried my best to explain it to him but was more appalled he couldn't figure out that thing he called me on also has this wonderful map system that would tell him exactly how to get there. *face palm* cagoldi, I'm sorry things have been rough. It's always so hard going back to work. I think martial arts would be good for Dude too. He and Maddie are very similar in a lot of ways (strong-willed, sensitive, deep thinkers, high strung) and she's adjusted to it well. Some days she isn't the best listener in there, but mostly she does really well and has learned a lot. It's good for character building too. |

dapostrophe P is great. My mom is going to watch her at my house until a spot opens up at DC in late January, so we're really lucky to have that arrangement. X is having night wakings that last hours and I'm not sure why. Molars, maybe? He seems kind of aggravated but not really in pain. I was thinking he's hungry because he doesn't eat, but he's not that eager for a bottle or food and settles a little if I can get a pouch with some ibuprofen into him.

It's not all bad news over here.
We're going to get our AC replaced for $4,000, not the outrageous $16,000 we were previously being quoted.
And Pete is going to get another promotion at work in the next several weeks.

But I don't know if I'd be that calm in my living room...or I might be too calm and try to pet it too. I guess I'd rather meet my end by nature though. The circle of life and all. I was always really into those movies where someone befriends wildlife--White Fang, The Journey of Natty Gann, etc. I was convinced I could be the kid who a wolf decides to chum around with. Madison is obsessed with wolves and there's some a boy and his wolf movie coming out and I think I'll take her to see it. |
