Holy moly I’m tired today. I’ve been tired some days but today I feel like a truck of exhaustion hit me. All I want to do is sleep 😴

TashaLa you got an avatar!! I'm scrambling trying to get my ish together before I leave tomorrow for California for a week (work thing, not vacation). At least being so busy that I'm losing my mind helps me not think too much about how much I'm going to miss the kiddos

Anyone get cramps after drinking coffee? I’ve only had maybe 4-5 cups since I POAS and each time it seems to happen. The few times I’ve ordered coffee I’ve gotten half caffeinated (or made my own with half decaf) but when I asked for a half caf at Starbucks today they said they couldn’t do it in a tall since it’s only one shot of espresso which they said is only 70mg of caffeine. My OB said one cup of coffee a day is fine but I haven’t wanted it much this pregnancy. I’ve read under 200mg of caffeine is okay so 70mg didn’t sound too bad. I’ve been super exhausted again today and felt like I needed some caffeine in my life. I don’t think I’ll be getting any for a while though bc it definitely makes me cramp. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced cramping with caffeine.

@amc yes it’s definitely had that effect on me today too. Looks like I’ll be steering clear of coffee for a while. Good thing I haven’t been craving it like I used to!

I’m sure leaving the kiddos will be hard... is there any up side you can try to focus on? Comfy hotel bed? Nice meals? The ability to go to the bathroom with the door closed?

cch I’ve def been riding closer to 200 mg... but try hard to balance it out and increase my water intake. Is dehydration a possibility?

I was thinking that could be a possibility so I drank a 20oz bottle of water after posting. The cramps seemed to get better yesterday. Woke up his morning with some more period like cramping and some back pain which is new. I’ve had cramps on and off but these seem heavier. So maybe they weren’t from the caffeine after all 🤷🏼♀️ I hate being ‘that person’ but I’m about to leave a message for the OB nurse just for piece of mind.

cch, leaving a message for the nurse sounds like a good idea. I agree that it could be dehydration though.

notagoddess I’m guessing yesterday’s cramps could have been from dehydration since my body isn’t used to drinking coffee anymore. But this morning I know I wasn’t dehydrated because I drink water each time I wake up to use the restroom at night and drank 20oz when I woke up crampy. The OB nurse called me back and told me to come in just to do a quick HB check. The OB said my cervix and everything looked great and HB was 166 on the doppler. I think I’m just a nervous wreck after having a MMC at 12 weeks a few years ago. Anything out of then norm makes me worry and I don’t usually wake up cramping with a back ache. My OB wasn’t there today but the OB I saw was very understanding and comforting and said she was happy to do a check. Ironically, I’m more crampy after she checked my cervix but I know that’s to be expected and I’m glad to know LO is okay.

cch, I'm glad you were reassured. Hugs on the PGAL stuff. I'm right there with you. Thanks lady. It’s the worst. Hugs back at you! Hopefully our worries will start to fade in a few weeks when we make our way to second tri.

cch I'm so sorry for all the stress and worry. Yay for a great heart beat! I really hope the cramps let up so you don't even have to think about it. When I went in for light bleeding and pretty strong cramps last week, the nurse also mentioned round ligament stretching and that I'd probably be feeling more cramps and discomfort as time went on and not to think too much about it.

I think my excessive nausea the last two days may have to do with the stomach bug DS1 just had. I don't know how I'm finishing my shift.

It’s definitely nice to have some time to myself. It’s not a week for relaxation, that’s for sure! But it’s a change of scenery, which I desperately need right now. The program starts tomorrow morning so I flew in today and have spent the day exploring San Francisco. I’ve never been here before. It’s so freeing to have a whole day to just wak around and not think about work.

Some days, I feel most successful when I can wrangle DS2 and successfully get a booger out of his nose without it slingshoting back in before he breaks free of my grasp. Today is one of those days.

14 weeks today—officially second tri!!
I was hoping to do a couple Orangetheory classes while I’m out here but the only one that I definitely can fit in given my program schedule is the 5 am weekday class. That’s insanity right? At home I do the 5:45 am class and that’s bad enough.

I work out 3-4 days a week at 530a and have managed to keep that up so far, so I might not be the best judge of what is crazy!

Now that I'm feeling better, I think I've hit the "probably shouldn't go grocery shopping unsupervised" stage of pregnancy. Far too many impulse buys jumped into my car at Costco this morning. Oops. 😂 This was me yesterday. My nausea is way better, but my food aversions are still there, so I ended up with a bunch of random snacks and kid foods. No regrets, though...my pop tarts were delicious this morning.

Well. I've decided that now that eating ANYTHING makes me feel like throwing up, I've stopped restricting myself. I still think the added nausea is a stomach bug but whatever.
