I don't know why, but I can't seem to wake up this morning. I got a good amount of sleep, so I should be ok.
Last night I tried yet again to have K sleep in our bed so I could get baby cuddles. HAHAHAHAHA. No. that did not work. I just ended up with an overtired and cranky toddler who wanted to sleep in her own bed and then daddy came home and shit went to hell.

Sorry for the rough start, Sheila.
This morning R slept in over an hour later than usual, so I'm like 🙌🏻. But there were a ton of variables different from the norm, so now I'm desperately trying to figure out which if any of them contributed to this magic. #Science. I will probably never know.

I overanalyze the events of the night before every single time DS sleeps in. DH insists it's a total crapshoot, but I'm sure there has to be something to it. Hooray for the extra sleep though!

Morning! My car is at the mechanic getting a new timing belt, so DS and I took a nice walk since it's not as miserably hot as it's been. I think it wore him out nicely and I found out the hard way that I'm seriously out of shape.

I have never really gotten baby snuggles either. B never sleeps in my arms. Even when I am done BFing her she squirms to get out of my arms and just be put down in her bed. I have been getting some "snuggles" by way of her just sitting in my lap. This also has never really happened. #thankssesamestreet Sorry you have a cranky toddler... Hopefully her mood improves soon!

We officially had DS' last day of school today. He had a really great teacher, so we are going to miss her a lot. DS brought her a picture that he drew (just scribbles), and she seemed to like it.
Summer session starts next week (just for 3 weeks), so fingers crossed his new teacher is just as good!

Currently trying to decide if LO's outfit is a really short dress or just a onesie with a flowy shirt attached and she should be wearing shorts. If we head out in public I might put shorts on her.... For now... Good enough!
Today I want to tackle my storage room and reorganize it. I have way to many serving platters that I received as wedding gifts 5 years ago. Also a lot of kitchen gadgets that don't fit in our kitchen. I have two shelving units in our storage room and most all of the serving dishes and appliances are still in their boxes. I am starting to run out of room with all the baby stuff and need to make more room. I am going to go buy some storage totes and bubble wrap and hope that it will all take up less space if I take them out of their boxes and put them in totes.
Still don't know what to do with all my fine china that MIL continues to buy me. We received 12 sets for our wedding and she continues to add to it each Christmas. I have no where to store them, I don't have a kitchen table or house big enough to serve that many people so they have all remained in their boxes and never been touched in 5 years.
Hopefully I don't end up making a bigger mess than I have now!

BH woke up at 5:15 this morning. We played Russian roulette by bringing him into our bed...and it worked! He slept for another hour!
Good omen for today.

We are having some remodeling done so all the stuff that was in the living room, is now in the toy room as well. I decided this morning to tear everything completely apart and to start organizing, trashing, selling, etc. It looks like a gigantic mess but I'm hoping to get a good chunk done today. Also sort of regretting my decision now.

My MIL would know if I got rid of something even if it had been packed away for years. She would sense it...

DD didn't sleep...again. All the coffee please.
I never in my wildest dreams imagined I'd have an almost 6 month old who still wakes up multiple times at night. Do I need to sleep train??

Hi, I would like to go here. I was on the bump with my j13er and then the other place for awhile and sort of went to lurking like a weirdo.

This makes me LOL because DS didn't sleep through the night even remotely consistently until around 12-13 months. We tried a few different sleep training methods, with varying degrees of success, but he didn't really start sleeping until we finally forced him off night feedings. But yes, sleep train. Pick a method and run with it. I regret not forcing it sooner.

My kid started the day by trying to hide from me as I attempted to put pants on him. Some days, thank goodness for day care.

Sure he still had/has bad nights, but on the whole is a good sleeper. DD sleeps like a newborn. Up every 1-2 hours all night long. I know 6 months is still young, but man. I wish I realized at the time just how great I had it with DS at this age haha.

I was once in a deposition with 4 other attorneys, all who had kids. We were deposing a pediatrician about her care for my client, a young child. The pediatrician was looking over the records and made some remark that it was unusual that the child wasn't sleeping through the night at 6 months. ALL of the attorneys started looking at each other, trying not to laugh. The next question was whether the doctor had any children. She didn't.

My 30 min mtg this morning turned into 2 hrs. Fun stuff.
I should run out during lunch and fill up my gas tank. But I hear the heat index is 101*. I could get an iced coffee or something. Hmmm.

I wish I realized at the time just how great I had it with DS at this age haha. My BFF had her DD five days after my son was born. She and her H were sooooooo happy when their kid started sleeping through the night at like, six weeks old. I... had to really restrain myself from punching her in the face sometimes (kidding, obviously. mostly). The fact that I had a terrible sleeper plays heavily into our decision to be OAD, quite honestly. Though if we do wind up changing our minds and having another, I've told H we're sleep training as soon as it's considered humane.
