Our DC is on church grounds but not affiliated with them at all. I made sure to get a very clear answer on that when we enrolled and think they felt like I was being a little extra with those questions. I asked how religious the preschool was and they mentioned they had church on Wednesdays but it wasn't overly religious. The first few weeks it went well but then it became a lot about religion. So much so when LO went to the Cowboy Museum and they had a fake small cowboy town in it he went into the church to the pulpit and began singing. It threw my parents for a loop, they recorded it and it's pretty cute/funny.

Yea I give pretty much the same response. Today it was because I didn’t have another activity to do and told him to play with his toys. I just responded with “good that means I’m doing my job.” He wasn’t impressed. I also get a lot of "mom, get out of my business" or "it's not your business", which is technically what I tell her when she asks things about random people. To that I respond with, "as long as you are my child I'm going to be all up in your business!" C said to me the other day "you do you mom". The sass is unbelievable with that kid.

The duck boat story is so upsetting. I had to change the channel when they were talking about it on NPR this morning and I walked out of the kitchen when it was on TV. I can't handle the thought of it, considering the times we've been on boats with the boys. Beyond heartbreaking.
Colin has asked a few questions about God and religion, and it's tough. I wasn't raised religious but loved going to church with friends. But I can't stomach the many churches turning a blind eye to all the horrific shit going on in this country in hopes of overturning Roe v. Wade. It enrages me and makes me want to shield my kids from such ugliness.

Colin isn't usually sassy but when I tell Chase to do something, he yells "YOU'RE a meatball" and runs away laughing. Awesome.
