So E prefers to sleep in her car seat. I don't want to use that for all her sleeping needs. Would a rock n play be a good alternative? Her swings are not cutting it. Thoughts?

Both my kids were always great about sleeping in their car seats. C didn't like the swing so we did a bouncer-seat for her, and she loved it. Slept very well in it. eta: This is what we had. Not the fanciest one on the market but it got the job done. My sister is using it now with my nephew and she is a fan, too.

I'm trying to organize the blocks/lego/train madness that exists. So much stuff! What are you doing? This is a project I want to do I keep the Legos, wooden blocks, bristle blocks, and trains in separate baskets, all stored in the builts in our family room. They were in mis-matched baskets but not visible to the naked eye so I didn't care. The kids would typically take them out and dump them on the floor, but the building surface (a train table) is in a different room and it has no storage. So I think I'm going to buy one of those structures that holds the canvas baskets and put that in the room with the train table. But I haven't decided if I want to get canvas baskets to hold everything or regular baskets.

Duplo is still one of the toys that he plays with on a daily basis, so for us it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Also hi!

Hi! Long day over here, currently motivating myself to wrap another baby gift basket and car present for the kids for when we go on vacation. I’m not in the mood.

For this who used the RNP how was it transitioning to a crib? I'm just trying to weigh in all my options.

I've decided I'm going to Hawaii! Now I just need to convince MH to go with us. The flight back is a red eye and I pray that drugs help us sleep.

Mh is in a mood. I'm drinking these weird buzz ball things while folding laundry. Also, there was a snake in the filter of our pool. It ended up IN the pool I had to chase it with a basket. I never thought I would remain so calm.

Me too. I think they both look really good, but I prefer the look of the second one. I didn't buy anything today for the storage-- I just put it in matching baskets underneath the train table, but I might pick something up soon. I like kids storage to look like real pieces of furniture so my house doesn't scream, "children live here!" (which I always feel like it does anyway)

We are home from vacation. I suspect T lied about needing to stop to use the bathroom because he got this sneaky little look on his face and said “oh look they sell cinnamon pretzels here too.” I went food shopping and did a majority of the unpacking. I bought lots of food with a goal of cooking all week since we ate out pretty much every meal and donuts and ice cream happened daily. Maybe I will work out tonight.

Morning. My sister is coming over soon to give Dude a skateboard lesson. Nothing else planned today. These cramps might kill me. Is he learning already? C has been dying to learn but everything I’ve read says six. If he is learning show me what gear you bought and I’ll get him lessons ASAP!

This week has been a roller coaster. I kicked ass at my first on boarding of new employees at work which is huge since federal employees have a crap ton of benefits, policies, etc. Then DH forgot my birthday but my coworkers were awesome and we even snuck out for lunch off site Friday. Then I noticed my neck was oozing stuff so I went to the Dr got meds and they took a swap. I get a call, that I miss btw, 10 mins before they close to call them back as soon as I can. I logged into the patient portal and I have MRSA. Speak to my surgeon who luckily ended up being the on call Dr and he calls in a new antibiotic, we go over cleaning all the things and covering the wound (which has now been uncovered across three stated for three weeks). This afternoon I realize it looks more swollen and red and I have a fever. I call the Dr and we are meeting at the hospital at 8am tomorrow for him to reopen and drain it. Cue panic attack since I had such a severe panic attack on the table last time and was in so much pain. I will be insisting on anti-anxiety meds right away and will request pain meds after but given that he was stingy last time due to the opioid epidemic I’m not holding my breath. But the idea of slicing into an already infected wound sounds painful.
Tl;dr: I have MRSA
Anyway- good times over here.

Just me and the kids today. Went to my nephews baseball game then came home and took naps. Just ordered pizza and have a sitter coming at 7 so i can meet up with dh and friends.
We’ve been letting h run sound naked in the evening lately and he’s getting really good at using his potty. Hasn’t had an accident on the floor until today......
And TMI- when your 2 year old is potty training, eats a pound of blueberries and has been dealing with diarrhea..... things can get pretty messy. 🤢🤢🤢💩💩😭. He didn’t quite make it to the potty and shit all over the floor and then slipped in it before i even got to the bathroom. I’ll spare you the picture I took to show dh who wasn’t here to deal with it.
I need a drink. And a sanitizer bath.

I'm sorry, wedding. Before X's procedure, they dosed him with some anti-anxiety stuff that was miraculous. Versed, I think it's called. His was a nasal mist but they have something oral, too. What ABX are they switching to? BACTRIM has been really effective for my infections. FX for a smooth procedure tomorrow. And yeah, slicing into an infected wound hurts. That's how they did my breast biopsy so he better kick down the good drugs for you.

He doesn't have anything yet, my sister let him use her board but now he's asking for one. He did surprisingly well, but Pete and I have no idea how to skate so he'll be relying on my sister or teaching himself.
