Morning Ladies! Still in bed because all my kids, minus the baby, went to my ILs again. We had H's whole side of the family over for a cookout and then his parents took my kids back with them. My oldest will go to camp and the next two go to VBS and little Theo just gets to hang out with my FIL. H, Bea, and I will head down there Tuesday night and stay for the rest of the week.

Off to catch up!

Headed to FIL's house then we'll go to IKEA after nap. We're getting the boys bunk beds and picking up a few things for what will be the playroom if they ever finish this loft extension.

We're putting more gravel around the basement and straw on top. Basement inspection is tomorrow. As long as that goes well and a storm holds out, the basement floor will be poured Tuesday. A has to bail hay when we're done with this and I need to clean the house. My in laws are watching the boys tonight so we can go do our appliance purchase. That big sale ends Wednesday. It's been an exhausting weekend.

That would be nice but since my in-laws are doing this super last minute since we forgot to ask them last week, I told them I would bring home dinner for them and the boys. We might eat like Chipotle and then take it to them. But there's no chance for a nice dinner out.

We had Ninja this morning. C did awesome listening so he got McDonald’s after. Now we are headed to TJ Maxx then home. Hopefully he will nap today because he is a bit emotional and seems tired.

Dh is also already a grump with C which pisses me off. My patience bucket is pretty full after all the time off so I’m surprised his isn’t and it’s annoying.

While I was trying to motivate this morning, I had the weirdest, most vivid feeling of holding Chase. I've had a great time but I am clearly ready to get home! We don't have much planned today - breakfast and packing, maybe walk around a bit and then drive back towards San Francisco to find something to kill a few more hours before the red-eye. It's nice not to have solid plans.

Wwyd? Parents and kids refer to E as she or a little girl, not maliciously. Sometimes he will say "I'm a boy" but I think that is only when he notices. Would you just let him be the one to correct or would you correct?
Well he finally noticed and corrected the boy several times and the older boy told him no you're a girl and then told him to find a girl group even though they. The boy keeps calling him a girl and I've had to parent him.
And now the boy recognizes that he was hurtful and had some very mature things to say so they are playing again. (Sorry for the live blog)

I don’t really have any advice but a little commiseration. C really likes painting his toe nails but the kids st school tell him only girls do that and call him a girl. This has led to a lot of tears and sensitivity if anyone mentions his toes. Dh told me he thinks he wants to paint his toenails because it’s a fun activity with me and isn’t about self expression as I think it is. But I don’t know. I’ve offered to C that if he wants to remove it that’s fine with me but he says he likes it. We talked about how he can respond by just saying “well I like it” and not getting into a debate about what girl vs boy things are. So we are going to try that.

Maybe for E talk him some things he can say “I’m not a girl,?i just have long hair because I like it”. Things like that should hopefully shut it down.

It irks me but this is the world we live in. My dad and brother are super bothered by Cs toes and think I’m hurting him by allowing him to paint them. It’s complex and I’m trying to figure out how to let him do things without my pushing one way or another.

wedding it's so frustrating! Maybe you could take him for a pro manicure to boost his confidence.
Thankfully its just strangers right now. Even the teachers have been surprised that there haven't been comments from other kids.
E does have painted finger nails right now but they are just a light pink sparkle that you can't see. It was something he did to have special time with his sister. E really has no idea that people think he's a girl because of his hair.
I clapped back with "some of the greatest rockers have long hair". Maybe like @dapostraphe's LO said "see ya haters" or something like that.

My kid just threw up his whole dinner and than some. He fell asleep in under a minute after, without stories or songs... I think he’s just extremely tired and worked himself up, fingers crossed he doesn’t get sick.

This is how we approach it with Dude's nails, too.

He has said some friends tell him nail polish is for girls but he replied that's not true, it's for fun and boys can do it also.

You guys. There is a family 2 doors down with a 6 year old boy and 8 year old girl. The kids always seem to be at our house and C loves playing with the boy. That's great, but the kids are so annoying!

She stopped throwing up around 10:30 and then got diarrhea. She’s currently napping on the couch.

I'm trying to get stuff finished up on the house but there is still so much to do!!

ALSO- my kids and their cousins took slime upstairs and it got on the carpet HOURS after I got it professionally cleaned. It's not coming up. I've watching like 20 youtube tutorials of 8 year olds cleaning slime off carpet. Nothing works. I haven't told my husband. He's gonna be pissed.

I've been extremely limiting junk food & screen time... Lord have mercy. I hope they adjust to this soon as I hope to make it the new normal. I decided I will hide *my* snacks.... because I like snacks.
