My family has 3 babies due this year and the first of the three was born early this morning! A little scary because in my head I've been like thinking I have all kinds of time (I'll be the last of the three to have mine), but now that theirs are being born I'm panicking! haha I have this giant to do list of what I want done before the baby that I come up with will "working" but then when I get home I don't feel like doing them! My SIL is due three weeks before me - my Mom is scaling back Christmas dinner this year.
2 newborns and 2 toddlers.....it shall be interesting. Lol.
My sister is due Sept 1, although she doesn't think they'll let her go to her due date (she is on BP meds), so I'll be getting a new niece soon! We won't see them till the holidays since we're on opposite coasts (we'll try to make a trip out to see my family when baby is 2+ months old). It's crazy she's so close to being due, and then I'm 8 weeks after. I have so much to get done and no energy to do it... Seriously though, I feel like everyone I know is pregnant and due this Fall, and I have two coworkers whose daughters are due in November and one whose daughter is due in Oct (My office is mostly 50+ year olds, I'm one of the youngest at 33). My best friend's cousins (who are sisters) are due like a week apart in Nov/Dec, which is even crazier.

We were not going to have a second kid anytime soon when we bought our house 2 years ago, so really I just didn't think about the layout eventually not being great...We have two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs. Master has a bathroom connected and our furniture wouldn't fit in any other room - so right now our room & DS room are upstairs. We have a playroom and a guest room downstairs (Willing to part with a playroom, but not a guest room since we have family visit quite frequently; though if I could combine the two somehow that would be cool, but that's the least of my worries right now). We planned to keep them in the same room, but I go back & forth on the decision daily.
WWYD in this situation?
A) Keep them in the same room for awhile (I'm nervous for my perfect sleeper toddler to start waking up at night with them together) B) Move DS (3) downstairs C) Make DD a nursery downstairs (she'd be in our room for a few months)

hayleysmith That is such a personal decision...I think I'd dry-run putting the the year old downstairs. If it works, awesome! I'm not, try room sharing. If that is also not working, you've tried both and can choose the lesser of two evils. The thing I would probably not want is the baby downstairs. Not unless your big kid is one of those who gets super attached to their space and does badly with change.

hayleysmith our 3rd bedroom is in the basement and the other 2 are on the second floor. So my kids will have to share a room 😬. Luckily we hope to move when the baby is 1 and I’ll room-share for the first few months but I am terrified of messing up my three-year-old’s sleep. If I had to choose to put one down on your main floor, I might choose to put the baby downstairs? Seems like the three-year-old could get into more trouble down there by himself. Idk, it’s a tough decision!

hayleysmith I would try room sharing before I'd be comfortable with having one of them on a floor different than DH and I.

Obviously I wasn't expecting you guys to make my decision for me, but I'm laughing how you all gave a different opinion! Option A is the least amount of work and money, so I should just try that first, but I want to decorate a girl nursery! Maybe I'll hang a curtain down the middle & decorate each side for each kid lol

Partitioning the room and turning up a white noise machine could help. Maybe when it comes time to sleep train (If you do) have him and your H sleep downstairs while that happens?

He does not - but he sleeps with a fan on - which I think is kind of the same thing? We did buy a dohm for the new baby and we'll use it in their room once she moves over. That is a good idea to just temporarily have him sleep downstairs in the guest room if we had to sleep train her - but you know this baby will be a magical unicorn who STTN super early

So, my BFF who was supposed to be in charge of the reveal balloons and helium is in labor. Because of course she is! Haha. I mean, she was due August 5, so it’s not surprising that baby is coming, but I needed her presence for one more day!
I’m now in the waiting room. I’ll go back as soon as the epidural is in place. I’m the only one on her preference list other than her BF, so I figured I should offer moral support. I couldn’t sleep from being so anxious, so... here I am.
Our reveal party is still on. Can’t wait!
UPDATE: Baby is here! When I went back it was time to push. She progressed REALLY fast. I was not prepared. Hah. But the baby is here and was doing well when I left ☺️

I decided on option D - baby will be upstairs in our room in a mini crib at night, but have a nursery in the guest room downstairs. All her stuff will be downstairs. We will have two diaper changing kits (I got tote basket things), one for each floor. I have NO idea what we’ll do when they get older. I haven’t planned that far ahead yet.

Congrats, quijibo! Boys are great 🤗 Gosh, I hope so. I’ve been in a state of anxiety since finding out! I’m a girl. I have a girl. It’s just so familiar. The idea of a boy has me really freaked out!

Also they are a lot easier to wipe than girls.

quijibo, congrats on a little boy! I understand the anxiety - I honestly was a little relieved when we found out this one is a boy, since I already have one boy, it seemed like the "easier" or at least, more familiar path. But boys are great! And I've gotten through potty training boy one without ever getting any rogue pee on me, so it's totally doable!

Congrats on your boy, quijibo! We'll figure it out in the end, lol. I love how excited other moms of boys get when I tell them I'm having a boy.

Went to MommyCon Philly over the weekend, which was pretty fun, but late in the afternoon one of the older female security guards saw me and commented "oh honey that baby is low, you're going to be done any time now!"
Um thanks, but I have 3 more months...? Really appreciate the comment when I'm already feeling huge! ugh.

Can I AW my baby girl for a minute? Today is her fifth bday, I can’t believe she will be starting kindergarten in two weeks. I’m a tad over-emotional today, lol. PDQ

Saw my OB this morning. Pretty proud that I managed to get me and DD up in time to make it to the appointment, daycare and work. Woo!
OB has continued pelvic rest. I’m a sad panda. They’re hopeful the placenta previa will resolve itself as things stretch and move, but it’s not a 100% promise. So, worst case scenario, baby boy comes early via c-section. Fingers crossed so hard that everything cooperates and this whole conversation was for naught.
I hope my H can chill for the next 8 weeks (when my next scan is scheduled) and I’m not forced to strangle him.
Otherwise, baby boy is good. He does not like the doppler. He was all, “Swim away!”
Here’s a quick look from last week’s scan (PDQ): *poof*

Congrats on the boy, quijibo! What a sweet face. I’m waiting for my glucose test. No caffeine and no food this morning means I missed my exit and nearly missed my appointment. I’m laughing to myself, because the waiting room is mostly women in 2nd it 3rd tri and the vibe is...bitchy. I feel you, ladies.
