Its about to wrap up becasue she called on Gizzi
a week ago you told us 45 was going to call Turkey. We never got a read out. Gizzi uses elucidate LOL shs to get back with details.
What about roe? there was a question on this very subject, he said in debate it would be overturned and returned to states. He is not going to discuss specific cases with nominees.

But 45 said there was no threat from NK, putting aside that, there are commercial pics of the ramping of nukes. Can you clarify, are they still a threat We're having meetings and making progress. Bolton thinks NK could de-nuke in a year.. Hahahahahahahaha These people are absolutely delusional if they think KJU is going to give up his nukes. Putin would get rid of Russia's first.

I just get sick of these press briefings where SHS gets up and lies, lies, lies. Why air this? Why keep giving her these chances? It does nothing but give the Trump administration a platform. I agree but the alternative of not covering her thereby not ever holding them accountable is just as bad.

She just adds cement to the wall of lied with each word out of her mouth.

I agree but the alternative of not covering her thereby not ever holding them accountable is just as bad. I don't feel like they ARE being held accountable in these briefings. It's literally "mock the media" hour, where SHS runs late, answers little to nothing, and shows her ass to the press. It's porn for the "lugenpresse" faction of the Republican party. But if the legitimate press stops covering them, they can use that to limit access to only 'their' press. Well CNN MSNBC BBC Urban Radio didn't really care so we're disinviting you. And now only fox has access. I think it would just set a really bad precedent. I think most of the press pool wants to hold her I think they need to band together and make her answer questions satisfactorily. Much like Brian yelling at her if she didn't have any empathy. Or when John gave April his time for her question.

This dog and pony show only helps his rabid fanbase because they pat each other on the back for sticking it to the MSM. If they start aggressively going after her for answers, they'll be kicked out and it'll whip the Trump propaganda machine into a frenzy. MSM needs to find some courage and start running a ticker under every lie this administration makes with the actual truth. In real time. When it's happening, not in commentary afterward.

Most of this country could give a rats ass about SHS until shes kicked out of a restaurant. So let her stand up there and lie, and they have started calling out you said this on this day and now you say this on this day. And they have used "lie" more. But its important they are there.

I'm sorry I wasn't around today but I'm on a conference call right now and was reminded of the importance of supporting your elected officials when they do what you want them to. If your reps don't represent you properly, keep yelling. But if your reps DO vote and act how you would want them to, please support them to ensure that they continue to do so. Please just give a quick call of thanks or write a thank you note.

What's everyone's take on immigration and the mid-terms? I mean looking at the success of the rallies this weekend in terms of the sheer number of and that most people at least disagree with separating families, this seems like a no-brainer. Now that some Dems like Gillebrand are calling to abolish ICE, I feel like this could cause some fracturing because that's a step too far in some people's opinions. I guess ideally, the Dems would come out with a cohesive message and stance? How likely is that to happen? I was just listening to the news, and they were saying that the RNC is all over the place with its messaging too, although it doesn't seem like that because you have the idiot in chief yelling about it loudly to his base and saying the next step will be to get rid of police. 😡 I don't actually think Dems need a cohesive message on this in 2018. I've said it before but I think we have to be a "big tent" party. You can be pro-a lot of things but be anti-separating families, and still vote Dem. And the Dem who will win easily in one district will flop in another. This is a district by district fight.

Happy Monday everyone. 🙃😑 Supreme Court agrees to hear 'double jeopardy' case in the fall linkLaurence Tribe @tribelaw Among the first cases the Court agreed to hear the day after Kennedy announced his retirement will decide whether a Trump pardon from federal prosecution will shield someone from state prosecution even if that state retains its dual sovereignty loophole Wait. This is a BFD.

I don't usually come to these parts, but I'm cautiously excited about Mexico's new president. He ran on a new party and won in a landslide. His policies are on the left spectrum. So Who knows what will happen and what he will do. Im done with el PRI and el PAN parties there. People are saying he's kind of like the Bernie of Mexico. I know Bernie is problematic. But people there seem to be overwhelmingly tired of all the bad stuff and he grew popular on grassroots movements too. We'll see. I'm happy to see you and to hear your thoughts, thank you for weighing in.

Thanks for checking in. I was wondering what your thoughts were. Seems promising, but I get the cautious part. It’s a good start. I hope he can accomplish his goals and stay above he corruption. His people deserve that. I'm cautious for sure because he's sort of a populist like trump and Chavez. I want to believe he means all the things he promised folks there. He used a lot of similar stands like Bernie. Like taxing the elite and getting rid of corrupt politicians. But at this rate Pena Nieto was Pri and he's been awful. The last PAN president (Felipe Calderon) tried to reign in tne violence and he sort of made a dent, but not really. We'll see. I just don't want AMLO turning into Chavez. Yeah reading about him I've felt like he's a cross between Bernie and Trump. I'm excited that he sent to have so many good and publicly supported ideas for curbing corruption. I'm definitely rooting for him.

It sounds like she really didn't have much of a choice. Make the compromise to keep her government or cause another round of elections where it's likely the anti-immigrant right wing would gain even more power. It's bullshit, though, and I'm mad.

Fuck. Why everyone is so ready to paint the refugees as criminals and troublemakers I will never know. We're helping destroy their homes and are keeping them from finding a new safe place to live.

The criminalization of visiting their home countries too. JFC. And treating them like criminals without just cause. Putting ankle monitors on children so they can't go outside in the evening? This whole thing is sick. I hope the UN does something about this shit.
When DD1 was 1 DH took paternity leave and we went back to the US. We're also hoping to do a year "abroad" for the kids in the US sometime so they can experience the culture there (not that that is feeling particularly appealing at the moment, but hopefully things will look different in 10ish years). I wonder if that would be subject to the same criminal penalties as when a Turk takes their kid back to Turkey...
