I was hoping I'd have a curly haired child, but no dice. Mine got very curly when I went through puberty, so maybe DDs will do the same.

Any tips for dealing with separation anxiety? DS is starting to melt down at daycare drop off. His teachers are usually able to distract him and face him away from the door while I leave, but the sobbing just breaks my heart. Ours does the opposite, they have them wave bye bye at the window so they are in partial control of the situation. This in the the toddler room. In the infant room, I relied on distraction and GTFO asap. In talking with other parents this is a phase that regularly comes and goes throughout the years. My inhome has the kids wave bye bye at the door too. Another thing that maybe helped (or at least succeeded in getting a song stuck in my head/made me feel better) was having her watch a youtube of the song "My Mommy Comes Back."

We never have had a crib mobile. But how long are they useful for? We just took DS’s out this weekend because he started pulling up in the crib. He’s 10mo. He loved that thing, and it’s silly but it’s a little bittersweet to take it off.

We never have had a crib mobile. But how long are they useful for? We had one over the cosleeper and he did like it for the first couple months but didn't really pay much attention to it since. It is now over the changing table and it is mildly useful. No mobile over the crib and I prefer not to have distractions in there now.

DD refused to wear anything but a diaper this weekend and then asked to go potty about 10,000 times and only went like once or twice.

Mine mostly knows what to do, but he won't ask to use the potty even though I think he's starting to know when he needs to go. So that's going to be interesting if we can't get that sorted out before Pre-K starts.

We've resorted to a lot of horizontal under arm carries.

Who went Amazon garage sal— I mean prime day shopping? Find anything good? I have a robot vac sitting in my cart, but I can't seem to pull the trigger, even with half of it covered by giftcards.

I got a bunch of useful things, but I probably shouldn't have gotten anything at all. Vacuum storage bags, a Tile, new towels, a jewelry cleaner, and the Petco gift card. Technically, all things I've been thinking about buying - I researched the jewelry cleaner, towels, and Tile a while ago. And we can use the GC on dog food. Now I'm obsessed about finding deals on other things we only sort-of need, like glass Tupperware and an air fryer. Stupid Prime Day always sucks me in with the excitement of snagging a deal.
ETA: And two minutes later, I pull the trigger on Tupperware. We really do not need an air fryer so I just need to be done at this point. Use the $5 off books coupon to buy something for DH, and call it a day.

I finally got an Instant Pot. A couple Mo Willems books. I think we’ll end up with a Roomba from Lowe’s because the one we want is a better deal there. Target also has good prices on some things I’ve been eyeing, like an air fryer and a small table for DS’s room.

It seemed silly to buy just one and luckily everyone in H's family wanted in on the deal and then one for H's coworker for her kid. It would have been 6 but I appear to have reached my arbitrary secret limit.

I cancelled the paperwhite I ordered yesterday, and reordered using my Amex. Boom! Just saved another $40 off it. I’ll take $40 for a kindle, thanks

I'm so over the whining. The 2 yo just gave herself a black eye when she tripped and she whined/cried less than the 3 yo did when the baby took her toy.

Now that we’re moving, DH (nor I) doesn’t want to drill into our new cabinets so magnetic locks with sticky tabs it is

J's started screeching/screaming very loudly when he doesn't get what he wants. He's been awful at meal times, ugh. And we have to go out to dinner with my boss and our client and their spouses after a 5 hour drive. I am scared.

My 16 month old threw a tantrum bc she didn't want to hold my hand on our walk, and in the process of fighting to remove her hand from mine, tripped and scrapped her knees. It was a little funny, but also sad because she was so clearly exhausted after refusing her afternoon nap again. Also, she looks like a big kid with her dress, barrette, sneakers and scraped knees. And thankfully, she just passed out. Super late afternoon nap, but I'll cut it off to preserve our 7 pm bedtime. I'm dragging bc no caffeine today.

The 3 yo fell asleep while watching a movie. Explains a lot.
