I’m here, where’s everyone else? Taking DD to buy a bathing suit then taking my grandma to lunch. We have tickets to a minor league baseball game tonight but it’s on and off thunderstorms so we have to see what happens. C refused to go to sleep until 11 last night but then slept until 7:30 with no wake ups in between. I usually nurse him to sleep for nap/bed. He’s 6 months now. Anyone remember when you just started sticking your kid in the crib and letting them fall asleep? I know all my kids learned that but I don’t remember when. With all the kids home for summer, he’s super distracted with nursing and hasn’t been falling asleep as well.

Last Thursday, M asked me if she could take a shower. She'd never taken one before and MH was gone so she showered and played with my foot lotion, body scrub, body lotion, etc. Now she's obsessed and refuses to take baths. I have created a monster.

I was wondering when this happens for most kids. Maybe I'll give it a try this summer.

kim22 I think 6 months is when you can officially start sleep-training. Like tgrimes I did it earlier with C than B and she has been an amazing sleeper since. I started b/n 6-7 months with her.

Hi! Rainy day here. Lots of thunder storms so we are watching the Octonauts and I'm trying not to eat everything in the house

B prefers showers now, too; he still mostly takes baths with C, but if he needs one earlier or later he showers. It's really nice, I just have to stand by to make sure he rinses all the shampoo out thoroughly.

Morning. I took today off for no good reason other than I was sick of sitting at my desk, lol. But I’ve got a long list of shit to do with the most important being going to a bike store and seeing what I want, size etc.
I was going to wait until next year but B is riding his new bike without training wheels and wants to ‘cruise’. Last weekend he went for a huge bike ride with me walking behind him, it went like this: Me: ok buddy we’re on the path you can go right to where the road is B: ok Mom, run to go faster Me: I dont run unless someone is chasing me B: then pretend someone’s chasing you and LETS GO!
So, bike shopping it is.

We do showers when we're trying to be quick about it. I would prefer to handle the showers because mh tends to rush and not wash her hair properly. We have a handheld shower head for her bathroom though because she refuses to shower with a regular one. She doesn't like the water hitting her in the face.

vino, I need a bike too! C loves when MH bikes with him. When I'm walking he's good at going up like 8 houses, turning around and circling back so he's never too far and doesn't have to go too slow!

Morning! We had our last session of swim lessons today, and now we're home. B just asked for 'second breakfast' lol. I told the kids I'd take them to (where else) CFA for lunch so we'll head out in a bit to hopefully beat the rush.
I have been so irritated with USPS; I sent a package last week to my cousin/his wife who just had a baby. Thru tracking it showed as 'out for delivery' on Friday; I checked Friday night before I tossed the receipt and it said the package had been delayed, they had no idea when it would arrive...basically sorry, not sorry. So I gave it through today with no updates, and asked my dad to contact my cousin to see if it had arrived before I went down to the post office (b/c you *know* you cannot get an actual person on the phone). Cousin responded that yes, the gift was received and wife had mailed a t-y note. Annnnd the note just arrived. They probably think I'm nuts.

J has strep 😔 spending the day with him. M is at the sitters. I need to get some work done so I bought him a new paw patrol book and hoping he will settle down with that.

My brother has been in SA all week, so he is driving here to see Cadence at her dance lesson and then we'll go eat. She is super excited to see him. His birthday was the other day, so I have gifts for him.

Hi we’re here! I think C is pretty much over HFM, but we’re going to give it one more day before we go back to the gym. I have to run some errand and pick up stuff for dinner and then I think we will hang at the pool for the rest of the day.

wineallthetime, guster, What was the name of the dry shampoo y'all were discussing the other day? My batiste has been pissing me off lately and I thought y'all mentioned a different brand.

Otherwise, they do it separately while MH hangs with the other kid and S chooses between a bubble bath and a shower. He's been showering off and on since around 2, though.

kim22, S nursed to sleep for a while, I don't quite remember, maybe 9 or 10 months? B literally never once fell asleep while nursing. It sucked. And he hated being rocked. But the good part of it was he really started to put himself to sleep probably around 5 months. And once he did, he only ever woke up to eat or if he was sick.

Ooh, I'm going to try this dry shampoo.
Speaking of hair products, my stylist got me hooked on Oribe texturizing spray. That stuff is amazing. It's also almost $50/can. But now I am addicted, so. Do not tell my H.

kim22, get thee to the crib ASAP! It certainly doesn't hurt to try. My kids were sleep monsters and maybe it would have been different if I started earlier. vino, haha! Little speed demon. Cass hauls ass on her bike but it's fun because we can take family bike rides now. My kids have showered since they were babies since I always have them shower after swimming. Some nights when we need to hurry they shower. I usually have them wash themselves and just make sure they rinsed thoroughly. peachsmama, poor little dude. I hope he feels better soon. xolastunicornxo, glad your little lady is on the mend!

I'm really stressing about our house selling. We have hardly had anyone look at it let alone offers. Our realtor is an idiot and if it does sell soon it will be in spite of her rather than because of her. I've asked her to make a few specific changes to the photos and she still hasn't done it. She's worthless. I'm going to be much happier when this is over one way or another. Our pets are super clingy and weirded out about the house. I don't think it helped that soon after getting rid of almost all of our belongings we got rid of the kids. I'm sure they think they're next.

We went and watched the concrete trucks for a little bit. He's requested mac and cheese for lunch then hopefully he'll nap. I need to invoice.
