Oh.My.God. As if I couldn't hate him any more, Kevin Cramer went on the radio TWICE and said that “There’s nothing inhumane about a chain-link fence ― if it is, then every ballpark in America is inhumane,” RAGE

Hmmm... it's almost like they want time to make changes: The pictures thing they could swing with a privacy excuse (and I agree, to a point, that taking photos of minors' faces and publishing them is not great), but what's their explanation for the two weeks thing? These are officials. It's not like you have to do a background check. I mean, you and I and everyone else here, we all know that it's so they have time to prepare and put on a show. I'm just wondering how they're justifying that on paper.

What parent in their right mind would travel on foot thousands of miles, through trecherous and unpredictable terrain, for weeks with a fucking toddler for funsies? The only reason someone would do that is if they had literally no other choice. What fucking world do Trump lunatics live in? They literally do not look beyond their own front porch. Oh they do... But just out into the front yard at the marginalized they own or wish they could own, or pay barely minimum wage to for hard work and no benefits. I can't even with these people.

Personal response from my M.P. received yesterday morning:
"Thank you very much for writing to me. Like so many Canadians, I am horrified by the U.S. administration’s cruel and unjustifiable policy of separating children from their parents. I will be speaking directly with our Prime Minister and members of our cabinet today to emphasize the importance of Canada taking every possible action to urge the U.S. administration to end a policy that is inflicting trauma on children that will be with them for the rest of their lives.
Thank you once again - I very much look forward to a strong and united response to this policy from all Canadian politicians of every stripe.'

I'm not even shocked. Heartbroken for those kids, yes, but not shocked after everything that has been coming out recently.

REsistbot has a live FB video of letters being handwritten. Two little kids in suits are helping deliver the letters and they are adorable.

Does anyone have a script urging their congress members to reunite those families that were already separated?
I'm really concerned that now that an EO is signed, all the media coverage will die down and those families will be forgotten.

It now means that families (including children) can be detained indefinitely.

It now means that families (including children) can be detained indefinitely. The problem will be that the 20 day rule will remain in effect. So in 20 days it will become illegal for those children to be held in detention with their parents. So what happens then?

It now means that families (including children) can be detained indefinitely. I think we are talking about two different things. There is currently no system in place to reunite children that were ALREADY taken from their families and placed into holding facilities. We have no legislation or plan. I was wondering if someone had a letter urging their congress members to push for a plan to be implemented. That way these children will not fall through the cracks and never see their families again.

Thank you. I will send messages to my congress members urging them to support Pelosi and Schumer in demanding a plan of action for family reunification. I hope everyone will do the same.
