Hello! I've got all 3 kids today and it's supposed to be HOT. Not sure what we'll do other than a pediatrician appointment for L. She has a swollen red foot. I've never taken all 3 to the Dr, so pray for me.

It's supposed to be super hot here today, too. A bunch of schools in the area already called early dismissals, but I doubt MH will be on that list because the high school is air-conditioned although the rest of the schools are only partially cooled.
I've got no plans for today except to get these kids outside to play in the water.

Morning! Luckily ds doesn’t have a fever anymore, but we kept him home from school to be on the safe side. The weather sucks, so this is going to be an indoor day... My coworker came back from maternity leave, I’m so happy she’s back! Today was the first day of my three job workweek. This should be fun 😉.

Good morning. DH is taking the kids to school. Big kids already had a half day scheduled and I’m taking T out after lunch to get ready for the wake at 3. Tomorrow is T’s last day so even though the funeral is at 12, I’m going to try to send him for a few hours. If he has a hard time at the wake, I could always leave him at school for the funeral. He’s had some very sweet questions about what’s going on. I feel better today even though I sound worse. Anyone know if cough drops are ok with breastfeeding? If not I suppose I can make lifesavers work.

Good morning! Getting ready to drop the boys off then run to the gym. Sil is hanging out with me today. I think we're going to go to the pottery painting place for a little bit then grab some lunch.

Morning! It’s wet outside right now. I haven’t checked to see what the weather is going to be like the rest of the day. I’m totally cool with hanging at home all day too. We are going to leave tomorrow morning to go to my sister’s house so I’ll probably be getting things packed and ready today. Then I have to work this evening.

School ended here last Friday so my Monday morning commute was smooth sailing.

More cleaning and staging today. Yuck. Cass and I might take a break to swim. We have 3 open houses starting Friday so we're taking the kids down to my parents. They will spend the week with my mom which will help a lot with keeping the house clean for showings. Although our realtor seems convinced it'll sell this weekend. We'll see.

I'm at work but have zero motivation. We have our last day of reading today and I am leaving around 3 to go pick up my CT scan films to bring to my surgeon. It's beautiful out so I am happy to not be cooped up all day.

It is theme week at school and today is "Muddy Monday". I am scared for pick up. Also C peed the bed again. 2nd time this week even though I have been waking him before I go to bed. I'm at a loss as to what to do.

We put in an offer on a house we love in our neighborhood. First someone else got it but apparently they weren't even close on having the funding (maybe they lied about being pre-approved?) so we got it! Once our house is sold we should have a better idea of the time frame but we'll probably move end of July or beginning of August.

I am so excited for you. My realtor told me if we had to relist the town house she knew that it would sell in a weekend. I hope the same is true for you.

I'm hoping everyone is making a big deal out of nothing and they're just trying to be better prepared after the last time.

And not to make a Monday worse, but more gun violence. This story probably won't make the national news because "only" 2 people were injured. Someone opened fire in a Walmart that I occasionally shop at here. He didn't hit anyone but then went out in the parking lot and shot 2 people before bring gunned down. Of course to that pales in comparison to what happened in NJ. WTF America.

What are your favorite meals that are somewhat easy and can be prepped ahead of time and frozen? I'd like to bring my sister a meal or two. I'd like them to have the option to freeze if they'd like.

I purposely let 4 bananas turn brown to make a sugar/fat free banana loaf and was looking forward to making it this afternoon. Dh tossed the bananas because they looked gross 😭😭😭.

wineallthetime I always like to make a healthy red pasta sauce, just add pasta. Spinach lasagne is always easy and soup is also a staple, easy to add a grilled cheese sandwich or hotdogs. Freeze everything in batches for one or two.

Morning. So. Tired.

Our weekend was so great but so busy and so hot. N got to ride with dh in the parade yesterday and she had a blast. She had her pageant wave down and waved to the whole time. It was so cute!

We didn’t make it to the fireworks last night. We were climbing into bed just as I heard them starting to go off. And I forgot until yesterday that n started swimming lessons at 8am this morning. She did okay, but I might look into private lessons later this summer because it seemed pretty chaotic.

This is freezer friendly and really, really good. If you don't need to freeze it, I just heat everything up on the stove.

Black Bean Taco Soup
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef (or ground turkey works too!)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 package mild taco seasoning mix
1 (16 oz) bag frozen corn
1 (16 oz) can black beans drained and rinsed (you could use kidney beans or pinto beans)
2 (14 oz) cans stewed tomatoes
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (4 oz) can diced green chilis

Directions:
Brown meat and onion, drain. Let meat cool for a minute, then dump into a resealable gallon-sized freezer bag.
Dump the remaining ingredients into the bag, mix together, and zip bag closed.
When ready to eat, remove from freezer and thaw in fridge for 24 hours. Cook on HIGH for 1-2 hours or LOW for 2-3 1/2 hours.
Serve with tortilla chips, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole.

I haven't done freezer meals in forever but I used to make: shrimp orzo (I am pretty sure I got that recipe on Once a Month Mom), skinny taste beef barbacoa, breakfast burritos (I do potatoes and Soyrizo, you could add eggs and cheese), and Minimalist Baker's sweet potato and black bean chili.

wineallthetime I like Pioneer Woman's chicken spaghetti. I'm actually making it tonight becuase its been a while. Instead of cooking a whole chicken, I just buy a rotisserie and use that chicken, then boil the noodles in chicken broth. I usually bake half and freeze the other half.

tgrimes I hope there is minimal flooding. Do not want a repeat of last year.
