Oh hell no. She needs to pay for those bees herself. Right? But if it's a choice between paying for half and getting rid of them, or standing my ground and living in hell... I will throw all my monies at it! Although the last beekeeper I talked to said he was going to call them and explain to them why they need to be moved, what damage they will do, etc. Hopefully he gets through to them! Are they in her house or her yard? Not that it matters because they need to GTFO but I'm just curious as to why they don't think its a big deal.

What are your favorite meals that are somewhat easy and can be prepped ahead of time and frozen? I'd like to bring my sister a meal or two. I'd like them to have the option to freeze if they'd like. Lasagna and chicken enchiladas are my go tos.

Also, wineallthetime when my neighbors dad passed away, I made a huge batch of breakfast burritos and individually wrapped them so they could warm one at a time. They had a bunch of family staying with them. She later specifically thanked me for them because it made mornings so much easier.

tgrimes I'm so sorry about your dog. Is he open to a 2nd opinion? He can't like seeing her in this condition either. I need to go back and finish this weekends thread. We had too much fun at our neighborhood party Sunday. Even though I was under a canopy most of the day, I still managed to et a sunburn. I also drank too much, so yesterday was kind of rough. But the game was fun, even though again, it was hot. The tickets I bought were in the shade, so it wasn't terrible. I'm WFH today because they refinished the kitchen floors. I would have gone anther shade or two darker, but knew H didn't want them too dark. They're going to come back tomorrow and do another coat, so it should be finished up pretty early tomorrow. I've been very happy with this contractor, good communication, they showed up early, great crew and the owner showed up with his 2 kids this morning to make sure everything was going good and pitch in. Evie went to my in laws today, they invited me over for dinner, which means wine!

I texted her and said that the bee guy reiterated that the worst thing she can do is spray them. She said "well we haven't had any in our house in a week." So I guess since they are staying outside, she is ok? Also, their house is on the market. So maybe she's just checked out about it? Although, as one of the bee guy's said to me, they won't close like that, and it will have to be handled by the new people, with money from escrow, so why not just deal with it now?

cagoldi I'm ridiculously jealous you have the opportunity to go see NIN. I haven't heard about a KC show, but I'm now going to google because I will spend all my money on tickets.

Pdq since it’s not my house... hard to tell in a photo, but this is what it looks like. I’d say it’s about 2 feet from the top of the swarm to the bottom.

nam2013 don't call them cages...they are walls made out of fence! (Srsly though 😠) Laura Bush's Washington Post op ed was great, calling out the fact that caregivers can't pick up the kids to comfort them and that is insane. There's a rally tomorrow downtown but it's for women of faith, which I don't per session identify as, and I'm slammed at work, so I think I'll be donating to some local orgs helping on the ground. EtA: I found the politics board and will prob be over there more since I still seem to be on obsession level of anger about this

In other news, I contacted 4 beekeepers about the neighbor's bees, and my neighbor doesn't seem to think it's an issue. She offered to split the cost with me?? Am I being crazy... it's her house, not mine. I thought she would thank me for the info and take care of it. At this point, I don't even care, and I would pay for half of it, just to get rid of them. That's weird. And awkward. You were concerned but it should be all of her responsibility.

Have you ever had banoffee pie?! No. Off to google it. I don't love it. Citrus and berries in desserts please! Or just ice cream. Plain, simple toppings, if any. I made ice cream bites for Father's Day – peanut butter ice cream covered in chocolate, rolled in pretzels and peanuts. Big hit, but, for me, it was too much stuff

Sounds like they dont bother her at all and she's happy to leave them there. Since they have been to your house, could they come back? I have exactly zero idea what costs are associated with relocating bees but I'd probably pay half to ensure that they're taken care of properly.

vino, and klong11 I love how involved your kids are with their grandfathers, even though they are not here with them. S has no real understanding of his grandmother (MH Mom) who passed long ago. We have never brought him to her grave (in fact, I've only been 1 time, with MH, and he had trouble finding it b/c it had been so long since he had been. He knows that he gets his blue eyes from her, but that's about the only thing he knows. And I think it's more complicated b/c MH father remarried so he has a "grandmother" from daddy. I dunno, I am rambling, but just trying to figure out how to keep her more in our lives, and it's hard, since I never knew her. We talk about our parents a lot, but the concept that those are her grandparents is there but fuzzy to her. She has invented grandparents that she KNOWS. Currently they live in Canada, but they met in Australia and got married in Africa. 🤷🏻♀️

I make a point of ensuring that they know how amazing my Dad was, TBH I probably say it's for them but I'm doing it for me, probably to deal with my grief. We talk about him a lot, things that he liked, what he was good at and B knows that he can ask to go there at any time and I'll take him. Grandparents are a lot of the talk at daycare because he told me that he was talking about Gido with his friends and told them 'I'm a good golfer just like Gido was, and sometimes Gido teaches me golf when I close my eyes'. I mean, cue tears. Ask YH if it is important to talk about her, find out things she liked, find a picture and before you know it there will be exactly one million questions.

Poor baby Snoop. 😞 WTF to your neighbors jewels. That's like a house of horrors. And effort no to them offering to go halfies with you. This isn't a fence, it's an infestation on THEIR property. The nerve. I would have been grateful for the info and got on it with one of those beekeepers if I were them.

snoopmommymom Poor girl! B had HFM a couple years back but his never looked that bad I think there is definitely a range of severity. TP to your neighbors jewel. If that was on my house--esp. that I was trying to sell!--I'd be calling removal people like yesterday.

Hola. We're sitting out here with the kids while they swim. It's cooled off enough that in the shade under a ceiling fan it's fairly pleasant. High of 98 tomorrow--not delightful. lahdeedah I can't remember when you posted about it but you mentioned you were looking for new swimsuits. I don't know if you need a 1-piece but I actually bought two from Target last week, and am so happy with them! I was eyeing some at JCrew but they were back-ordered til almost August :/ and i wanted them to use now. I'll probably still buy something a bit 'fancier' for our trip in the fall, but for just hanging out with the kids these are great.
