inthekitty new job for H and new house, great week! I know. It's been such a tough year for us. Honestly I thought I was going to lose my shit several times with working back to back weekends and all the schoolwork. I turned into a miserable bitch I didn't like and now that I finished with the course I'm starting to like myself again. It was real time for me when I was laughing with Madison over something silly the other day and she said something to the effect that was the first time I'd laughed in a long time. I also just started taekwondo at the kids' martial arts school and to put it simply punching stuff feels good. I really feel like some good karma has blessed us and I'm #grateful #blessed #feelingfortunate and every other cheesy hashtag out there.

wedding Can I get your thoughts on this? The vet gave her a neurological supplement and trazodone, the anxiety meds that our other dog used to be on (which I don't think did anything for her). They want to try that for a month and see if we noticed improvements. If not, then going any further probably gets expensive. She was panting heavily all night and was still shaking this morning, even after I gave her the doggie ibuprofen. She's just sitting in her cage facing away from us and doesn't want to come out. What's the "neurological supplement"? All I can think of is Selegiline, which is more for senility. Trazadone can help anxiety a bit and help with sleep but it's pretty unhelpful in my experience. A month is a very long time to wait for improvements given what you described.
When Tino, our English Bulldog, was starting to go down hill one of the big things was heavy panting and having a hard time regulating his body temperature, which just happens to some as they age but especially with smoosh faced dogs. Staffy's aren't super smoosh faces but do have a shorter palate so it happens to them too. We were cranking the AC and putting him in cold showers fairly regularly and we realized it was just too much and not a way to live. He also was suffering from debilitating arthritis and we were walking him in a wagon so....
I worry the vet isn't being forthcoming with stuff. I hate that. My vet has done that to me and I've had to be like "listen, I know how this goes. Just tell me the facts and not lets wait and see". I know they can't tell you when you should put an animal down but they need to give you realistic timelines and think about the quality of life for the pet and the owner as well because managing this shit is hard. Rant over. Sorry.

I'm not sure what the supplement is. I'll find out when I get home and let you know.

I mean, it’s not huge, but it’s definitely visible. *poof* I don’t know how she did it, but she was playing with these little decorative boxes I have and I guess somehow dropped one on the shelf? Or something. I was in the other room, I came in and found her trail of destruction. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth have occurred here this afternoon. I have a call in to a furniture repair guy, and logically I know it can be fixed, but damn. They were literally an hour old. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️💸💸💸

I might make my kids live on the screened porch from now on. I’ll get them a little picnic table for meals and they can fight over who gets to sleep on the loveseat.

Guys, i had a major anxiety attack today while at work. I hadn’t heard from MH since 7pm last night. He was in Italy supposed to be flying to Germany. He usually texts me every couple of hours. So as it was getting later in Germany and i hadn’t heard from him my mind jumped to the worst possible scenario. Then i decided to call the hotel in Germany because he landed at 9:30am their time and it was 8pm their time. He hadn’t checked in. So i was convinced that he got in a car accident with his rental car in Italy and never got on the plane. I was crying, calling the airline, called the travel agent who then informed his company. Then i got home and checked our bank and his email which weren’t touched in 20 hours. I was just about the email his friend that he met up with in Italy when he finally texted me. He had sent me a message earlier but it didn’t go through and didn’t have internet all day. He was apologetic but wondered why i didn’t ask his mom if she had heard from him because he was sure she got his message earlier. Well obviously i don’t think clearly when I’m freaking out!

I told my husband I ordered some foolishness and it'll arrive today or tomorrow. He guessed that it was probably some costumes or something like that for us to wear to The Incredibles II. No! It's totally not!
(It totally is.)

inthekitty congrats on the house!!! snoopmommymom I'm surprised you didn't flip sooner. When I text H in the morning and he's travelling, if he doesn't get back to me shortly, he knows I worry. I mean, we are 95% positive his second heart attack occurred late in the night in Albuquerque, NM, so yeah, I worry. I can't even imagine being in a different country!

I mean, we are 95% positive his second heart attack occurred late in the night in Albuquerque, NM, so yeah, I worry. I can't even imagine being in a different country! I first texted him at 6:30am when i woke up because i was surprised there wasn’t a text already from him. I started freaking out around 1pm after i had texted a few times and started to realize the day was almost over there. Once i called the hotel at 8pm Germany time and he didn’t check in, i lost it. It was an airport hotel and he was supposed to land at 9:30am, so my mind jumped immediately to a doomsday scenario.
