Rama you were neither bratty or an asshole! It’s a really hard transition and you should feel how you feel. I eventually loved being a working mom, but freaked out and had breakdowns after my first maternity leave was over. We totally understand you not being around. I wish I was around more, but it is harder on mobile and my gaggle of kids are so darn needy . Do what you need to and check in when you can. That’s what I do. We are always here cheering you on. Today is day 1 of my two older kids going to camp....so excited!

Ryan has 2 month appointment today too and both him and DD2 have CBC's getting done. Hoping DH can come with to help hold crying kids. It's only going to be 75 outside today. I'm going to take advantage of the cooler weather later today and go for a long walk with the kids.

I am not in a great mood for no apparent reason. My kid doesn't want to get dressed or leave the backyard but I need to get out!

As excited as I was for summer camp I’m now sad to send them off. Such irrational mom emotions.

H is out of town for work most of the week. Which also wonderfully coincides with L’s cold, increase in spitting up, and our attempted transition out of the swaddle sacks... all of which is affecting his sleep. Blah. Solo parenting for a few days is making me nervous. But also strangely motivating... like I can do this! I hope.
We’ve been swaddling with one arm out for a few nights and he’s done okay, but it makes it easier for him to get his other arm out, so then he ends up with them both flailing all around and sucking on his hands. I really want to keep swaddling him, especially for this week since he’s sick, but he rolled back to belly this weekend a few times, so now I’m too scared to. I may try the Merlin. Or priming the zippadee zip. We’ll see how desperate I get MOTN.

I am officially on summer break now. I survived working 2 weeks and getting both kids to daycare mostly on time. DS1 is at daycare today...he was grumpy about it this morning. I tried to get him to wear short sleeves but he wants nothing to do with short sleeve shirts...he says that they are boring. He is so stubborn about the weirdest things.
Last night L slept 4 hours, had a bottle, and then slept 6-7 hours more. Usually we only get 1-2 hour stretches after his MOTN feeding.
I have an errand to run today, am going to try to do some laundry, and hopefully take a little nap before I pick up DS1. We will see how this goes.

Hello all! I was glad to see you posting last night Rama! I understand not being able to be around too. You've tried tapatalk.I guess? I'm having people over Friday night and my house has only had a few sweepings and dishes done and quick bathroom wiping since DS was born so I want to really clean one room each day this week. Today is the kitchen. Also need to go to town for groceries.

My cat is meowing weird. H found him stuck in a cabinet this morning so I need to catch him and see if he’s hurt or just pissed off (grumpy is his default).

DD2 and Ryan's blood draws did not go smoothly today. I cried right along with them! So glad they won't remember any of this when they're older. I'll get the results in the morning.
I managed to get some housework done today too. Always feels good to have a somewhat clean home. We got a long walk in as well and DD1 even came with! I love the moments when he joins us. I know now that he's graduated, having all my kids together at one time won't always be the case. Definitely cherishing the time we have together.😊❤

I know you all are not doctors but does any of your babies get skin marks like this periodically? It looks like super close veins and then he gets orangish reddish spots. It comes and goes and gets lighter and darker. I know the pictures aren’t the greatest.

I never get notifications on it. :/

Lyra has had that off and on since she was born and the ped has never said anything about it, so I'm inclined to think it's just a baby thing and nbd?

I showed it to my MIL who is a nurse and she didn’t seem concerned. I don’t think DS1 ever had it and if he did I don’t remember it...then again I don’t remember much from when he was a newborn.

Update: my cat most likely had a seizure and his weirdness was the post seizure recovery. Random as but the vet wasn’t worried unless he has another one in the near future.

We had our 2 month well check today too! Popular day He’s now a whopping 11.11 lbs and 23” so I’m tasing another peanut basically. She did give me the name of an over the counter med to reduce crying. Is this a thing? I’m going to find it tomorrow! We also had to fix his belly button. It was still growing! 😲 I didn’t know that could happen, but it’s ways gross so I’m hoping this helps.

Hi friends, just playing catch-up now that the boys are both down for the night. DS1 has been thriving in preschool, and I'm so bummed that his last day is on Wednesday before they're off for 2.5 months. He also (finally) has his evaluation with a psychologist/developmental pediatrician on Thursday to see if we're officially looking at an ASD diagnosis. woodenshoes If I'm seeing what you mean, both my boys have had that come and go. Baby skin is weird. Rama Don't even worry about it or feel like you need to apologize! You didn't come off bratty or like an asshole. sweetc129 said it so well - feel however you need to feel with this tough transition. We're here for venting and to encourage you!

I am not handling it lol. My patience with the cat and our dog is minimal. I love them but goddamn they are hard work. Case en pointe: today.

Has anyone had to do a breathing treatment through an inhaler with a baby before? I took DS2 to the doctor today for a persistent cough and the start of some wheezing, and she thinks he has the start of a viral infection. I'll go pick up the inhaler and spacer (mask thing?) from the pharmacy in a little bit, but she mentioned that he'll probably hate it. Any tips or tricks?

If possible, do it while he’s asleep and just hold the mask up to his face. DD1 has to use a nebulizerand would SCREAM if it came near here 😑

katietopaz, is it for an inhaler or a nebulizer? Leaf 🌱 is right about the nebulizer trick. I think our babies are too young for an inhaler.
