It was too hot yesterday to drag the kids out for an iced coffee so I made my own. It wasn't bad. I even added a splash of vanilla extract.
I had planned on wearing dresses all this week but my period showed up yesterday. I need pants for the first couple days. At least our office is air conditioned.

I'm feeling stressed at my job. I got back to work after my maternity leave at the beginning of May. During my break the company I work for got bought out and transitioned to the new company. So when I got back I had to relearn all the systems. Lately one of my coworkers has been going to my boss and telling him lists of things I've messed up. So he's been coming to me and telling me the five billion things I'm apparently doing wrong. Which clearly is a problem but why couldn't the coworker have told me and then I could have seen the specific instances and figured out where I went wrong? And half of them I've asked other coworkers about and that's the way they do it so she clearly isn't watching them like a hawk. So now I'm super paranoid of doing anything wrong because she's actively trying to make me look bad to my boss.

We stopped for breakfast after J's appt with the osteopath and I treated myself to a fancy coffee.
Osteopathy is interesting and I have no idea how effective it is but I've met my MOOP for the year so we are making all the appts for the first 30 days while he's tacked onto my insurance. He'll have to get a job and pay for his next appt in 2 weeks though.

Parenting a newborn and a 2yr old can be so overwhelming. Some days I feel like I can do this and then it all turns into a circus.
This morning I realized I forgot about the appointment to get a part for my car was last Wednesday, so I need to call them and reschedule.
I hate being so scatter brained. Ok, vent over!
I hope you ladies have wonderful days today 😊

Do you have a rapport with your boss that you could talk to him about your transition. Sorry you have to be paranoid at work on top of learning new systems.

annanas My boss and I are friends as have worked together for years now. I asked him to double check my work and everything he has checked has been right. He isn't really very concerned and more has brought it up in an "oh hey...this needs to be fixed" way. So I'm not really concerned for my job itself but am just wondering why she's out to get me. And every time I work with her I'm wondering if she is just waiting for me to mess up. So yea. She's making me anxious.

Instead he arrived a day early. That age is hard. Now that DS is 2.5 yo he is much better and isn't as difficult to contain/entertain, and he's more used to his baby brother. I have a feeling that in a couple more months the baby is who will start giving me trouble! Hang in there!

So.freaking.hot.
The car needs to go back in to have the AC looked at again. The mechanic couldn't find a reason it was warm, so he just recharged the freon. But it's only been a few weeks and it's warm again already.

E's baptism went well on Sunday. It was so hot though. She cried a bit at church but was good at the party. I love summer, but I hate this 90 degree weather. I also have leftover cake I can wait to dig into soon.

I have zero ideas for H's first Father's Day. He has been so amazing, I really want to do something nice for him but my brain isn't working.

piratecat I'm having the same issue for H for his first father's day. I thought about a watch or sunglasses (He's really into both) but he seemed kind of eh when I mentioned it to him. Other than that, I've got nothing.

Morning! I'm in a good mood. Alex STTN for the first time last night. I hope it's his new normal. Although I do have a gift for DH for Father's Day I do not have one for my own Dad. I'm taking a half day on Friday for a drs appt so maybe I can run out and buy him something like a polo. Or a baseball hat.

Our docking station died a while back and we like to listen to music when we go to my parents' pool, so I bought him a portable Bluetooth speaker. Not at all sentimental, but I think he'll like it. Plus his b-day is Thursday and it was a big enough gift to cover both. My Target Cartwheel app is telling me there's an I Love You Daddy book available. I'm going to try to get there to see if I can pick that up too. It can be his special book to read with DS. Which would be good because I'm pretty sure we have multiple books along the lines of I Love Mommy that people gave us.

I ordered DH a big mug with his favorite photo of DD on it.
DD is taking an epic nap right now. It's making me nervous she won't sleep the rest of the day, but I hate waking her when she needs sleep.
The dog has taken to sleeping under the table, and he randomly moves the chairs sometimes. I'm in the basement and it startles me every time. I keep thinking someone else is home.

piratecat and sterl724 I always get my husband matching shirts of some sort. Etsy has tons. The first year I got him one that said "Jedi Master Daddy" and my son one that said "Jedi Padawan B...". Last year he got one that said "Player One Daddy", my son got one they said "Player 2 B.." and I also got a onesie that said "Player Three Has Entered the Game". And this year he and my daughter got Wookiee pjs and my son got storm trooper pjs. He always likes them and my son likes matching daddy now.

For fathers day, I'm doing pictures of A holding up the letters D, A, D and putting it in a 3 picture frame. Then I'll update with new pictures every year. Bonus is if we land up having another then I can do the second kid holding the last D and both kiddos holding the A. Easy peasy.
I also just ordered a keychain that will engrave A's name and her footprints on it. I kinda want to order one for me too. It won't be in til after father's day but that's okay. He's also getting his requested unfrosted cookie cake.
I rejoined WW last week and was down 2 pounds even at yesterday's weigh in.

Any tips on driving long distance with a newborn? We have an 8 hour drive Friday and J is 3 weeks old. We are hoping to minimize breaks so that it doesn't get dragged out to a 10+ hour trip. We are supplementing so he already takes bottles so I figured I could pump and give him bottles in the car, then stop after the feeding to burp and change?

R was a little older and our drive was only 3-4 hours, but that's what we did. I climbed in the back to give him pumped bottles when he needed to eat then changed him when we stopped for a bathroom break/lunch for us. He slept most of the ride so we only had to stop once. To go from 3-4 to 8 hours, I'd assume at least 3 stops, but that would be just as much for me as baby. You could probably get away with 2 if J is on a eat every 3-4 hours schedule. Good luck!

Well, we had 1 wake up last night at 2 am. I think. I got up to use the bathroom at midnight but pretty sure didn't nurse. 1 is still better than 2 or 3.
I need lunch. I was stuck in a mtg most of the morning with no water or snacks. Since I'm going outside maybe I'll stop for a iced coffee or something.

Nymeria he eats every 2.5-3 hours at home but he sleeps really well in the car so we may be able to get away with 2 stops - we'll have to see. Glad to hear that worked well for you guys.
