Any tips on driving long distance with a newborn? We have an 8 hour drive Friday and J is 3 weeks old. We are hoping to minimize breaks so that it doesn't get dragged out to a 10+ hour trip. We are supplementing so he already takes bottles so I figured I could pump and give him bottles in the car, then stop after the feeding to burp and change? R was a little older and our drive was only 3-4 hours, but that's what we did. I climbed in the back to give him pumped bottles when he needed to eat then changed him when we stopped for a bathroom break/lunch for us. He slept most of the ride so we only had to stop once. To go from 3-4 to 8 hours, I'd assume at least 3 stops, but that would be just as much for me as baby. You could probably get away with 2 if J is on a eat every 3-4 hours schedule. Good luck! We did this as well. However, expect to stop every 2-3 hours and to have an hour or more tacked on with the stops.

Tagging silvermelody...haven't seen you around. Hope everything is ok. Hi! I've just been swamped with work this week, and my parents were visiting from out of town last Thursday through Sunday. We hadn't seen them since end of January. Great visit, very low key, not a lot of running around with both kids. I've been back at work for a month, seems like everyone is adjusted. Sometimes N fights going to bed before 10, but she's STTN so I can't complain too much. The last two days she's been visibly excited to see me when I get home. So cute.

I've been really liking "Rockabye" by Clean Bandit lately. I sing the chorus to my baby and she gives me big smiles. Not really applicable to my situation since we aren't really struggling and my childhood was fantastic but still probably better than "All About That Bass" which I sang to my son when he was a newborn!!

We sing that too even though it isn't really applicable. DS loves the Pandora Dance Pop station and it isn't always super appropriate. I did finally turn on the profanity filter at least. Right now it's playing Nicki Minaj "Turn Me On" *Shruggy guy* He also loves "Chainsmokers!"

My baby is five months old! How?? 🤔
She has great head and trunk control, loves sitting in the bumbo while we eat meals, takes most of her naps in the swing, and has rolled belly to back a couple times but not reliably.
She's taking 3-4 oz per bottle 3x a day while I'm at work, and sleeps 6.5-8.5 hours overnight.
Currently loves shrieking like a velociraptor, grabbing her feet, shoving her hands in her mouth, grabbing our chins, and putting her taggie blanket over her face to fall asleep.

The velociraptor shriek. I know it well. 😁 My baby girl is four months old tomorrow and I can't believe it! I think especially with having two the time has just flown by. When did your girl really get her head and torso control down? I know my son was sitting unassisted by four months because I have pictures of him sitting in his Easter basket, but my daughter really isn't there yet.

She still can't sit unassisted but she's so much better than she was a month ago. I was a little nervous putting her in the bumbo then, but she can hang out in there for 30 minutes or so now. And if you prop her against a couch cushion she can stay upright for a few minutes. DS was sitting around six months but he was also rolling by this point. She's chubbier and I think that's impeding her a little.

Little girl is four months old today so I let her sample some peanut butter. She was VERY interested. She kept licking her lips and crying til she got another taste (she ended up having like three little tiny licks, nothing crazy). And no peanut allergy so that's a win!

Just a word of warning, my baby had an allergic reaction to peanut butter the seventh or eighth time he had it. Before that there was no reaction at all. So still keep an eye out the next several times. It's good you're introducing it at four months though! Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
